  1. Its an awesome feeling isnt it, a huge congratulations !!!!
  2. yes Vesper some breeders may do this, and overseeas where BRT tend to have a heavier coat because of the extreme cold they may clip, but I can only go on whe I have always been taught by local and overseas successful breeders and show people not to clip, :nahnah:
  3. could she have been kicked in head by a cow or horse ? I think you mentioned she lived on a farm? blood clot or stroke??
  4. OMG Andisa Its scary to think that there are people like that out there, and scarier to think that there would be people willing to sell a puppy to that moron !! I had a woman from WA ring and offer me more than double what I was asking for one of my girls, I explained to her I had already sold to her some local people (as it happens) whom I and my Husband have known for decades and will give her a lovely home, after I hung up rather annoyed at her really pushy attitude, the next morning I get a SMS from her asking "well how much do you want then ??" I didnt bother replying.......
  5. okay our BC babies are nearly 6 weeks old now and going great guns, most are sold and going to great homes, for the most part I have found people enquiring have been good ask all the right questions and when I have met them they have been terrific, and they will make great parents, lol, but everynow and I get some doozies like tonight I had a bloke ring up form SA and ask about puppies, and how many chocolate puppies I had left errr umm I dont have chocolate puppies, he was quite adamant I did he had seen them on my website, I asked which puppy was he interested in he said oh a BC puppy.... oh dear yeah ok , but a boy or a girl ?? he answered " a border collie puppy....." groan..... I was very polite and he said he would take another look at my webpage, then he asked did the purchase price include transport to South Australia??? and could I organise this, he just assummed that he was going to get a puppy, I have had a couple of these people just assume that I will just freight a puppy to them, if they off er enough money.. this is our first litter in 4.5 years, I dont know how people who regularly have litters do it , you all deserve a medal
  6. Looking forward to when the rest of the photos are up, I want to order a couple !
  7. Nahgfa Images did them last year, I just looked up on the Trafford website for this years photos and the last thing on there is last years Adelaide Royal, does anybody know when he will be putting them up?? or if he is the Photographer for this year??
  8. you are a Legend Sway keep up the great work !!! :D
  9. Sandgrubber they are used as bait dogs, to get the fighting dogs going and also used to train the dogs that do fight because they are helpless types of dogs that generally are not good at fighting, so the dogs in training win and learn to kill. there are some sick people out there, the last fighting ring that was closed down in Western Sydney 18 months ago, were found to have cages of small dogs and and medium sized dogs that were used for this purpose,
  10. We are going to the Mudgee Grass roots Rugby Carnival !!!! the boys are playing for the Mudgee wombats 1st grade !!!
  11. Worse still... I hope they are not being used as "bait dogs" for pit fighting
  12. two questions..... how do you forget to put underwear on ???? and how do you forget you are not wearing underwear and bend over to show yourself in all your glory
  13. haa haa, its not a nice feeling, having your undies sliding down and knowing there isnt a thing you can do about it , I am sooooo glad I always show in pants its worse when your pants decide to do the same
  14. My husband does not do dog shows, lol, he couldnt sit still that long instead of the "are we there yet?.... it would be when can we go home??? he is the most amazing supporter, and knows how much all this means to me, he loves the dogs to bits, and has built my brick dog runs, with cement floors etc, and is building me a grooming room soon, and is very interested in how the dogs go at the shows, but what I have spent on dogs wouldnt come close to how much he is going to spend on his new car later in the year
  15. woo hoo way to go congratulations !!! I bet you are still grinning !
  16. thanks Showdog , I must remember to wear my glasses !!
  17. I watched a youtube video on facebook this morning, the Utility/working group specials, BIG Rottie, Group2 Dobe, Group 3 Black Russian Terrier, Group 4 Boxer. a first for a Black Russian at Crufts I think dont ask me the names etc I cant seem to find anything about results on the Crufts website, it is a pain to navigate !!!
  18. I use ultrasounds only as a way to confirm a pregnancy, they are not always accurate, lol, so we found out on Monday we were expecting only 4 puppies Amber had 8 !! 4 boys and 4 girls... we were all very surprised.... especially Amber ,lol. and I have heard of girls still delivering a puppy or two even after the ultrasound showed them empty.
  19. Maybe a copy of their drivers Licence might be a way to stop it ?? I always thought that you couldnt register another prefix under the same name and address if there was already one registered there or something like that ??
  20. yes we will be there, the mothers handlers on the Sunday was hillarious and soooo much fun !!
  21. Like I offered the other Day Jak I will hold the ass hole who did this for you whilst you happily flog the living S$%&* out of them :D I was parked only a couple of trailers down from you the other day, scary to think that there are such lowlifes, and how sad it is that people feel the need to do this just for a blue ribbon !!
  22. I dont think you need to be hard... but a thick skin helps, lol you try not to let it get to you, never lower yourself to their level, always be polite, helpful if you can and good manners and good sportsmanship is a must. the only thing that has ever really upset me was something that happened last year, a woman who wanted to get into showing, I helped her immensely went out of my way to find her a pup, taught her how to groom, etc, then little by little she improved it was great to see, but when she was beaten she was so nasty about it, blamed everyone else for her mistakes and losses, including teh judge, the weather, its too hot, too cold, too wet, , and also including me, and when myself and friends tried to help her with handling etc, all of a sudden she knew it all, and we were abused for it. she has a win at all costs attitude, and nothing is more imortant to her, she was making nasty comments about my friends and people she had never met, running their dogs down, etc, this coming from a person who I doubt has ever read the breed standard, she has become rude and loud and abusive, around the ring and show, and started to make nasty revolting comments about friends and people whom over the years have helped me immensely, and I will always be very grateful for it. but this woman really put me off ever trying to help a newbie ever again ! we go to shows to have fun and enjoy the company, win lose or draw its a great social day out away from work etc,
  23. our puppies have arrived !!! 8/3/2010 4 girls and 4 boys all B/W and all nicely marked, and very even in size and weights !!!
  24. the heat is usuall the only thing that stops us, we have shown in ankle deep water, torrential rain, sleet, mud, dust storms, oh there was one show the rings stopped momentarily for the HUGE bolts of lightening to pass as do golfers, lol
