  3. What was his body language when he was growling ? head eyes ears tail hair on his back feet /legs Do you just say "No" ? are you using a collar & leash ? Treats? Toys ? Who taught YOU how to train/correct your new boy ? :) How old was this pup when you got him ?
  4. :) perhaps just use as many different types of meats you can .. all parts of animals/fish , so there is bone/skin/glands etc being consumed . if your dog will eat whole small fish , that's good too :) add some fish oil , as well?
  5. my rule to follow if a dog is vomiting is NO food for 24 hrs - esp if it is undigested food coming back .... this gives everything a rest and won't hurt a dog normally ... Hope he's ok .
  6. If he has vomited up undigested kibble after holding it all night , I would suggest a vet visit this morning . Check to see if anything untoward has been chewed - and I hope it's something fixed easily :)
  7. Same here including fosters so with two greyhounds and a humungous stuffed crocodile that Maddie won't sleep without there aint much room at the inn I can tell you. Good thing is greyhounds sleep like the dead, there's no wandering in this house except for me and my weak bladder and turning on the light gets a death stare from both of them  Haha yeah it's the same with me and Gruf. I usually get up to pee at least once, and turn all night like a rotisserie chicken because of a neck injury. If I leave the bedroom or toss and turn, Gruf never moves off the bed. He probably wishes he could lock me in the laundry LOL!!
  8. I just use a leash/downchain to attach them somewhere I have done it this way for almost 40 years ..and never had any hassles :)
  9. ..just wondering if a sign will encourage folks to 'have a peep ' , and see why .....?
  10. problem is , dog will be somewhere strange, noisy , and not with her people . That alone is a stress- building situation .... without the strange people . Hopefully, should you decide to do this there is a lockable room!! people at a party - someone will try & go in the room - at some stage
  11. eek rock : hard place . my first instinct is to advise you stay home - let partner relax and soak up the good cheer and celebration - make a short video of your love & support they can play at the event , kick back & enjoy not having to panic about Bonnie . .....it would be a disaster if 'something' occurred during the drive/event -
  12. second Contacting K9pro clickHERE there is also a thread which might help until you get professional aid - clickHERE
  13. hey persephone I think an incorrect link for that thread was posted. ACK - OK - check the first post again in a second :)
  14. i find it can become so very very mathmatical - I suggest you grab a cuppa or three ..and scroll thruTHIS THREAD- everything you ever wanted to know about feeding raw . I aklso suggest you wait a little longer before going fully raw ... pups/dogs CAN eat a mix of dry & raw :) THIS , and THIS have some good points :) good luck
  15. sheridan .... can she have sub/cut fluids , or a drip?
  16. Thank you :) Someone had me concerned as it was said that dogs could pick up parvo hiding in faeces of recently vac'd dogs ....
  17. Ok - discussing vaccinations etc .. does virus shedding occur? or not? using a 'live' vaccine how much virus shedding is there ? is the parvovirus shedding capable of infecting vulnerable/ non vaccinated pups/dogs? I have been given several differing opinions - and am interested in just what does happen ? Thanks.
  18. Breathe, folks This poster is a first-timer ... and is attempting to do things the way they have seen dogs kept - and 'by the book' ( whichever book that is ) It is turning out to be a HUGE learning/realisation curve , they love their new puppy , and WANT the best for him .....their 'research' has let them down ...hopefully D O L will be their safety net .
