  1. , and miss out out on some of the good ! Over the last two days I have spoken to folks , both with amstaffs ..and both with lovely stories :) One friend recently adopted a stray /dumped cat ... and their dog of some years now just treats it as normal :) A lady just adopted a young male amstaff ..and he just adores her little kids ...will sit with his paw on the leg/lap of the baby when it cries ..and will lick him and calm him , has fun on the trampoline with the kids ... Made me smile big-time! :)
  2. BUY, BUY !! here's one I prepared yesterday ...
  3. I have lots of apps for my playtime :D I mostly use 'camera awesome' I also use 'fast camera', and instagram , and hipstamatic Editing ..using what's provided with Camera Awesome .. and an app called Snapseed, which is great! I also occasionally use Jazz .
  4. Today , I stopped off to see Dad who in his 80's regularly attends woodworkers' days ..and as he was an upholsterer of the old school , is often asked to repair/make things .here, it is replacement seats for a local theatre .
  5. yes. No special treatment here ... we go out ... simple . Same as we have done since they were babies ..no fuss, no conversation ..just "C'mon, time for 'quick - quicks' ..and they know that there is no dinner/bed until they actually toilet.
  6. just feed whole raw egg :) No need to cook the white ... any effect it has is balanced by the yolk . people looking to enjoy egg, but on strict eating plans will resort to egg white omelettes etc ..no fat , but good protein :)
  7. Could be anything ...unless you saw the parent/s ... kelpie X lab , kelpie X GSD ..or a mixture of several breeds, including dingo .....he certainly has a non-dingo tail ..and that wide chest made me think lab ;) if it is 100% certain he has dingo blood - then just read up on their particular behaviours .. get him desexed while he is still young , do lots of training with him ..and enjoy.
  8. I think he has trained yo u when to dole out the treats ;) The finer points of body language , and habit, can be powerful, almost invisible teachers !
  9. <br style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: verdana, tahoma, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: rgb(238, 242, 247);">Mostly vocal praise ... and a skritch here& there ... ... The way I was taught many many years back .....MInd you, I don't 'train' for public obedience trials or anything ... :)
  10. Love the doggy bits and mushrooms ...and snake :) :) this was done with the little Iphone macro lens this morning ...
  11. I do not normally use food for training ...but this sounds to me like he has not learned to complete a task and then wait for his reward? perhaps you start the reward process a fraction soon ..and now he expects it earlier ?
  12. I put my egg shells in the microwave for a minute or so and they become very brittle. You can then grind them very easily to a fine powder. Oh didn't think of M/wave! I just sit them on a window sill :) Thanks.
  13. I agree with this actually. If he has not been accustomed to raw in the past it can be a bit hard on his tummy. I would have no problem feeding a quality canned food like Natures Gift to an oldie :) :) *nods*
  14. ..it depends on why he is vomiting , as to what you can do to help :) nausea can be caused by many things .....I suggest a vet check first ... then some detective work to help find the cause perhaps?
  15. :) I love watching cats gnaw away at bones ! great shots. Mr.W is currently working away at a large length of roo tail .... :)
  16. Your little old girl may be alive but not LIVING , if you know what I mean. It's sad she was able to eat unsuitable food and become ill ..poor old girl ..it's hard when something happens towards the end of a life... S My old dog ? pragmatism would win out here ... each illness takes a huge toll on an old fragile body , yes, as well as a wallet , and is keeping her alive enabling her to enjoy all that a doggy life can offer? Seems you have the decision front & centre - maybe you need a 'push' ? I would not think you horrible, no.
  17. with eggshell, DD ..let them dry , then grind them with a pestle & mortar ..or rolling pin & mix with food :) With old tubbies , perhaps you could use a reasonable canned product - like Nature's Gift ? All in one .. and ,plus some edible bone ... might be OK ?
  18. That's a nice update to read ! :)
  19. dried bones aren't wonderful ..you littlies would probably do better on whole chicken wings ..that would be a good meal for some of them ..meat/fat/digestible bone :) if you feed egg ... pound up the shell and add that too for calcium :) Chicken necks pounded with a meat tenderiser hammer and served part frozen Instead of giving him extra food .. so his tummy will always want more ... give him just a (part frozen) wing ..which will take him some time to demolish ..or a small portion of roo tail - so it will take him ages to get meat off .... see if he will chew apple rounds
