Would You Guys Go To The Emergency Vet For This?
persephone replied to Inka3095's topic in General Dog Discussion
When you go back to the vet ... get a full blood profile done too ... this may show if there is something weird happening . 4 days on , and she should be trouble to keep settled ! the internal stitches may not suit her at all -

weird. What is she like when left to roam the room/house? Does she sit at all? Is there any obvious change in gait when walking/running ? -

What does she do if you take her for a car ride ? :) LIFT her in & out. If you put her in different rooms .. or in the back yard , what does she do ? Just show her that life goes on as per normal ... you are not cross , she is safe , and there are new toys & bones to enjoy :) -
good :) Instead of 4x2's which have nothing much in them for a growing puppy , suggest he gets a chicken carcass/frame .... or some whole chicken wings .... have a read of what other posters have asked :) LINK LINK LINK LINK

have you tried introducing some new toys/treat dispensers etc ? get her something really exciting ... and interactive ... and noisy ;) let her have a gentle play .... and see what happens . I would also changer her bedding ..so any remnants of 'vet smell' are gone ....and iI, being mean, wouldn't give her 'brekkie in bed' or anything special , as long as she is alert & interested when outdoors . -
big cereal biscuits ..very hard & crunchy ... 2inches X4 inches ;) I think they were originally for greyhounds ...

The first step is to ask the puppy's breeder . Second would be to get a vet check What brand dog food are you feeding? What meat/bones does pup get? What worming schedule is he on? If a pup looks skinny , he may not be getting good quality food ... can you post a photo ?

AFAIK Heartworms take 6 mths to mature .. so starting a pup on heartworm preventative somewhere before/close to this time appears to be 'safe' . Any later, and a blood test will need to be done , as giving the medications with adult worms present can be disastrous (adults die and clog blood vessels)

Thanks, pesh. I put watermarks on his res ones .. but normally I only put small, low res ones on forums/FB /flickr

I wouldn't use it .. we never have on our working dogs ..koolies /BC x's .... I'm also not sure of up-to-date research ... Found THIS though .. on FB ... LINK

Both you and your dog are doing really well !! :) make it fun , and you both can run around like crazies :p ... if it's fun , she will enjoy it .... and get revved up more :) if there is a game .. or even one special toy/treat at the end ... then she will be really keen ! have fun , and keep learning . !!

Advice On Owning A Big Dog And A Little Dog

Kieran was 40 something kilos ... and used to LOOOVE puppies ..he was so gentle with them ..and with the other dogs who were all smaller than his 35 " at the shoulder :) -
Shouldn't be any muck left, IMO. Looking thru an otoscope down the canal should show nice shiny walls only.

yep.... Circuitry overloads , and the reaction is to bite/grab , and /or seize .... using treats ..even if her brain won't let her take them , may be good to help break the cycle a bit ...keep her a bit calmer , and divert some stress ?
