  1. OH Hope he turns up safe & sound and soon!
  2. What I do is surface spray around the outside of the aviary ..a strip of around 15 cm. I do around out aviary/cat run regularly.keep sprayer around 30 cm off ground..and you can also use cardboard cartons up against the mesh as a barrier to spray drift.Do spraying when it's calm/cool . also.. don't leave food out ..just long enough for cats to eat ..and feed up on a shelf/table .
  3. Hmmm.. and there is the following info on Sulphur ;) LINK excerpt:
  4. Pearl is important - she has made me look very differently at bulldogs She really has the most beautiful and honest face ! if she gets her new home, I hope her owners know of her fan club here...and maybe even join us with a few updates ??? Happiness, with a corkscrew tail.... Damn dust in my eyes....
  5. :) good luck for tomorrow ...and I hope her new owners spoil her rotten.
  6. :) wonder how many people then got busy testing their dogs? ;)
  7. Glad you are feeling happier ... I am no expert, mind Noooo, AFAIK we get them way too close to dog/poultry areas ...
  8. Snakes rely on vibration and temperature/'scent' .They have no ears. Lizards, frogs/toads have ears , and, being quadrupeds , they also do not have the amount of skin area in ground contact that snakes do .... it would be a very desperate snake to spend much time there, I would think :)
  9. ;) if someone ever does invent a snake repeller that's proven to work..they will make lots of money . (come to think of it, snake repellers which 'may' work bring in their sellers lots of money too ) I think you should save your money ..and make your yard snake unfriendly. short grass, no stacks of wood/building materials, etc . No mice/rats. ..lots of open ground , and lots of human activity .. walking, running, raking , etc- all help.
  10. Thank you so much for the update !! That face ................ I get something in my eyes each time I see it ;)
  11. if you can, please get a professional to come & help you .... Three days ago, a friend who has working sheepdogs lost his old retired boy . This old boy was killed by his son ..just hit maturity ....and apparently took the old boy's almost blind/deaf long hard (now, I know you're there..but what are you doing/saying/ ) stares as something else Very sad for the legend to go like that ..... and no, there were no direct recriminations on the young dog........but he is not the most popular at all.
  12. Maybe ask your vet first, just to be sure ... I have used it ..just a drop or two on a finger, spread around , and rub in well ..repeat, repeat , then wipe off with a clean tissue .The amount which would somehow get into an eye is absolutely minimal, and I thought it was a safe thing to use ...
  13. Olive oil :) just a tiny smear.. a couple of times a day .
  14. Hair loss around eyes may also be demodex mites ;) best to get him checked if it is a new thing , just in case.
  15. Dogs are castrated to remove the chance of testicular cancer . It is also said to help in preveniting prostate problems . The loss of testosterone may also help with temperament , and reduces sex-linked behaviours. Desexing males and females stops casual/irresponsible breeders producing unwanted puppies/puppies from non- health tested parents passing on genetic faults, and stops excess puppies being part of the pet shop trade.
  16. I used to use photorazor ...and have tried that easy thumbnails ....and also this one LINK - however, for simply resizing quickly - no editing or playing around with sliders ..right clicking on an image, then just two clicks more ...that suits this old brain nicely these days ;) There are so many choices!!!
  17. <br style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: verdana, tahoma, arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px; background-color: rgb(238, 242, 247); ">he is a baby- he will toilet inside...nothing surer.. just like when we were being potty trained - I'm pretty certain we all missed quite a bit to start with, and didn't 'hold it' and wait for someone to come get us !" :p IF he has a bed or two.. some old clothing you have worn with your scent on ... some food , some rolling/noisy toys , and water ....and you introduce outside playtime ,starting NOW ...like his favourite toys are ONLY available outside now ..and you will only play /wrestle with him outside, and he gets treats when he's outside ......then outside will seem a good spot to be. DO NOT make a fuss .. no 'I have to leave you now, don't worry, I;ll be back, I am worried ......' everything should be a matter-of-fact- experience .... :)
  18. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v230/alcina/2012%20-%20My%20Life/MAR12_174kja.jpg is he 'peeing in the pool' ? ;)
  19. :) most dogs do - but not all pay attention to what they hear. (thankfully, sometimes!)
  20. That's sad news Sorry there will be many hard decisions. Would the younger dog's breeder be able to help? contact them, would be my suggestion. The older dog .. if she were mine, she would not be sent to thepound, but taken to her own vet ,and gently hugged as she was euthanased quietly and calmly.....
