  1. for a small dog like that ... the BIG meaty bones would keep him entertained for a while.. and give him his dose of endorphins Toys which move/make noise may be useful as well.. what sort of toys does he have ? Is he sleeping on the couch, or is it for human use? if it is not for dog use.. I would liberally sprinkle it with pepper .. or citronella oil . I would also remove the buttons , if practicable.
  2. but wouldn't it affect your dog as well? A dog in attack mode probably wouldn't notice it,either
  3. a vet check would be my first thought! Fits can have all sorts of origins ... and IMO it is wise to notify your vet and get some advice . make a note of what she did/ate/played with this morning ...so you can tell the vet . I hope it was a one-off.
  4. maybe he knows you are going to be home soon ...and is all excited ?
  5. or ask k9pro if they will exchange ? or sell it here in marketplace and buy a good fit one ?
  6. ...and that is possibly why you see a change in her behaviour.... she does not know she has done wrong- but she knows you will react . This training will do nothing to stop her peeing inside, unfortunately. You should not be at all forceful in anything- timid dog ,kelpie, or not....no need. What I suggest you do though, is ,when it's NOT raining.. go out with her to toilet, and praise her everytime. Also -whenever you see her toilet outside, use a word - "Quick", "wee" ,whatever... then lots of praise. diligent, and use lots of praise, and get the timing right - it will be one of the most useful things you learn to teach your dog! ;) When it's raining... make sure she is is one room -easily cleaned , and preferably with access outside ... if you're home ..put on your coat, and go out with her every couple of hours . I have always walked my dogs in rain, played with my dogs in rain ...so they do not get too precious about being out in the wet ....so I don't have a lot of good training tips for you . the main one is to NEVER scold /timeout your dog if you have not caught it actually urinating . Never. The dog associates what is doing the second you start scolding .... NOT the wee it did 2 hours ago....
  7. It's usually ears & claws left here
  8. Ours never eat the gut - and yes, the heads are much relished ---
  9. have a look HERE re:laws in different states .
  10. Yes!! We do .. both cats and dogs crunch up the whole thing if for your dog.. part freeze it , so she chews it properly ;)
  11. Little birds are so fragile when they have a rough start....
  12. I feel for your dog..and you..but I HAD to at this I have a couple of dogs here who hate storms.. I just make sure they are somewhere safe , where they can see us ..and leave them to it- not patting/soothing. They get rescue remedy if they are really upset- but that's it. I'm mean :p
  13. With multiple health concerns, and now weight loss- I think a vet visit would be a very wise move. Hopefully you can get some answers....
  14. Lots of big chewy bones ..and see how it goes .
  15. both When I lived in suburbia - it was a 2 walk a day routine 1 was normally a controlled walk, though... and one was mostly a free run in parks/paddocks. I used to do the morning one at 5:30 am ..and the other after work ...
  16. It's hard ... but if you are at home all day ... then perhaps try having your dog stay with YOU , as others have suggested ... on lead, locked in your room..on your knee. That way he does what YOU want ;)
  17. for colour - try some IRONCYCLEN ... if it doesn't help your colour it might help with your endurance ;)
  18. so is bleeding to death slowly over a period of days ... so is being caught by a cat . We`have used the plaster or cement mixed with gravox or icing sugar or cocoa it seemed to work .. but I certainly didn't go looking for bodies . What happens is the mice eat.. go to a water source,drink... and the stuff swells in their stomach... and they die a painful, but fairly fast death. I still think it's better than glue traps ..or even drowning. I prefer instant death for them.. but when there are hundreds, and they are chewing peoples' hair while they sleep , etc . ,and there is a real risk of secondary poisoning for wildlife/pets ..what do you do? I just found the blurb for racumin ... HERE - as some good information on general pest rodent behaviour/ID etc.
  19. I really think you need both dogs checked again ... and stick to one treatment at a time.
  20. Your eyes will stay that gorgeous blue be careful of your eyelids in teh sun .. that pink skin (same gene which gave you the lack of eye pigment ) is more vulnerable to sun cancer .
  21. What you do next is go to another vet with BOTH dogs ...and hopefully you will get an answer. Mange IS mites ... there are two sorts - and a vet who knows his/her stuff would be your best option now. using home remedies when you have no idea what the problem is could make things worse Ask about allergies as well... allergies can be to grains/proteins in food- plants in the garden, cleaners - anything, basically. Hope you get help soon ...
