  1. Hmmm... as they are ithout a mum- and are 3 weeks..I would be popping in a section or two of lambshank or large beef bone, with a little meat on it ! They may need more sucking action than they are getting...this way they will suck on chunks/slivers of meat attached to the bone...also they will mouth/suck the bone! Very much welcomed activity for developing jaws/skulls,and for little brains
  2. leaving him outside without a shade sail/tree/verandah is a really bad plan A kennel will not be enough! It would be a bit like you sitting in your car ( with a door open) on a 40 degree day!! Cover the pen with shadecloth..or buy a large shade sail kit . Those dog doors look good
  3. Good news ! ermm ..... I wouldn't give him a rawhide bone if he is unsupervised just let him sleep safely for now , and heal properly
  4. Hi- Not really :D he is male- he is marking his territory. Is it possible a cat may be also peeing in/on the pots...this will make your dog try even harder! Do you have posts/poles in the yard that he can use? perhaps do some re training with him... take him out - on or off lead.. to where you would prefer him to pee... use a command.... and if/when he does, the praise him and give him treats etc...repeat repeat repeat...
  5. Yes- please float a board in troughs for birds to clamber up onto - young birds especially tend to drown :D
  6. Gosh - I hope there places from which people can learn the correct techniques . This method has all sorts of possible consequences .
  7. Yep- pups may have all sorts of things not working/working poorly ....and can die when it all gets too hard - or when a body outgrows the inefficient faulty organ .... an autopsy is the only way to find out.
  8. Thinking of you Chase will look very ill if he IS very ill If he is tailwagging and kissing- he is feeling not too bad- so you enjoy that feeling with him if you can
  9. ??? How does one train dogs to not jump out of baskets/put body parts in spokes?
  10. Well- no surgery is good - aspiration Pneumonia is not good- but he's young and fit and loved - that's gotta count!!
  11. no. good work, so far
  12. It looks like a wear pattern.. again, it looks as if the marks are on bony bits of vertebrae? Odd pattern... almost as if there is pain in her tail joints and she's nibbling just there to try & help... or it is being rubbed on something. Does she ride regularly in a vehicle-- or sit in one spot against a fence or anything? I do think it is something a vet should see. Trying to fix something yourself is ok if you know exactly what you are looking at, and know appropriate treatment.,otherwise, leave it to people who DO know
  13. I am wondering if it is connected with the problem in his back .. Dogs lick to try & relieve pain...and IMO a low grade fairly constant ache/tingle may well have the poor dog licking to try & soothe it . I know you said there is nothing physically wrong - which is why I asked what the diagnosis was ..and treatment Did they do scans/xrays? Did he see a chiro? Was/is he on medication? All the extra bits of info helps us to 'see' your dog better
  14. Ok- so it developed after he had pain in his back. This was diagnosed as????? What was the treatment?
  15. Oh shite . Hugs and strength for whatever you have to do
  16. Yep- phone a vet/poison centre! Hopefully she didn't eat any .
  17. A couple of inks for you ... will give you some ideas LINK LINK LINK
  18. We don't have sleep ins here at all... it's one up, all up. Occasionally I will get up really early, and work for an hour or two ,then get the dogs up at 'normal' time They are pretty crazy once let out
  19. Oh I'm thinking of you ...and your gorgeous boy .
  20. Being responsive is a very big deal after that sort of body insult!! ;)
  21. Most of our dogs are usually outside - when it reaches 40 we hose them down a couple of times during the day They are on sand.. so they have a big patch which is kept damp ..and in shade, They dig holes in the damp sand... and stay remarkably cool doing this The inside dogs just flake on the cooler floor .. our aircon often only gets the house down to around 30 deg. ..but still better than 40plus!
