  1. - any room for me ? I have games on my phone to play whilst waiting You can keep your remote ! Oh- very pretty flowers ! They really brighten the place up
  2. So many of the tinned foods are made to be very appealing.......to OWNERS they look like we would like food to look - so we think it's good . the dogs enjoy the flavours .. so we feed it . There is a LOT of water in it - and usually flavourings etc ... it is kinda like doggy junk food,IMO Ok if you are travelling, or dog is feeling like not eating because of the heat or being pregnant ,or something ... What you spend on tinned food- perhaps buy fresh
  3. Pup would not have sent if it was mine.... photos would have been taken... and the company higher-uppers notified. Pup probably would have also been quarantined The mess in the crate may have been from a travel-sick anxious dog... or it may have been an ill dog YUK.
  4. No ticks here- and flea activity is minimal in winter- so only when needed.
  5. fair enough, it's just that you seem to have no specific strategies to use on Banjo to show him that his behaviour is unacceptable..... what did she suggest to do when he DOES mouth/nip/walk away?
  6. Apologies but if this behaviour is still occurring and escalating - then she may be great, but perhaps her methods are ineffective ?
  7. OK- may I suggest you find a trainer who CAN help!! If you ask- I am sure someone here has used/knows of someone who will be able to help you . I agree it is a worry with kids ....sorry it is such an anxious time and telling you to stop the kids doing stuff which brings on the behaviour is avoidance- NOT training., IMO. I can't really tell you strategies- I cannot see your kids, or the dog... which is why the best way is to have someone come to your house and work with you all.
  8. PLEASE bear in mind if you are setting one of these up ... you need a LARGE clear area .. no shrubs/trees,roots,pots /fences within the range of the length of the tether, and about a metre besides - so dogs CANNOT reach anything with their front paws , and risk injury by tangling/jumping. If you are wanting to do TWO - the dogs must not be able to get within a metre of each other at least- to avoid tangling/strangulation. Also- with these cables - if not kept reasonably taut..they can get tangled around feet/legs. For a running line I prefer a heavyish chain as the tether. Building a run is actually a lot less stressful! And safer for your dog. It doesn't need to be very expensive- pavers/fence panels(2nd hand is fine) ... small amount of roofing material .... depending on the dog's size- even 2nd hand aviaries/chook pens will do .
  9. For how long? Sounds as if Banjo needs some educating ... so he CAN be handled .he is a teenager, and is being horrible. Ok- you are doing training, but what specifics are you doing to ensure he is safe to handle, and so he sees the kids as 'pack leaders' ? There may be some useful info in this link LINK
