  1. Bree used to work at PGD, and I think she just took over their page. Sounds like she needds to update it! Her new business has nothing to do with PGD. I recommend you get your own Hydrobath plumbed-in.... I had one when I had lots of dogs and it was worth every cent. Petstock are planning on putting a groomer in the back room there, but at this point they can't afford to do it.
  2. In case anyone is interested (I think tlc might be.....) there is a new DOG WASH open in Warrnambool. Bree (Breanna) is operating from home and offers a wash or wash & dry service while you wait with your dog/s. Bree is a lovely girl, great with dogs and I recommend her. Her address is 2/18 Kielli Drive, Warrnambool. and her contact number is 0448-788-867. "Bree's Discount Dog Wash" is on Facebook too!
  3. And about time too!!! She's VERY cute! :)
  4. From that photo does look more like Vic Funnel Web Victorian Funnel-web Yep it's an exact match isn't it??? There are a few "geographical ranges" maps online, but all are very out of date. These things are everywhere in Victoria. I am on the far South-West Coast and we get them here.
  5. If I'm correct, and it is a Mouse Spider, it could make you or your dogs nauseas and cause some localized pain & swelling. They have big 'fangs' and would hurt quite a lot I should think. Persephone may know exactly what it is..... Edited to say.... looks more like a Funnel Web on closer inspection... Similar results from a bite I'd imagine. Google "Hadronyche modesta"... I'm 100% sure that's him.
  6. It absolutely sounds like she should be in a care facility. The trouble is, the older one gets, the longer it takes to heal & rehabilitate after an incident, so the quality and time she will spend at home will become less and less. I think there is this stigma attached to care facilities that are a thing of the past, or at least, not the 'norm'... when my Gran went into one (reluctently!)she settled-in really quickly and had more fun than she'd had in years.... even said she'd wished she'd moved-in before she got too old to enjoy everything the place could offer! She made lots of new friends there.... she hadn't had friends for some years. Hope your back is ok.... I reckon there's nothing worse than when you hurt your back. Regarding me, I have had all my wisdome teeth out as well as a few others. It was a pretty horrible experience, and the Dentist had suggested I have them out in Hospital under GA as they were impacted. I just couldn't spare the day off, so I booked a few early appointments and was able to be back to open the shop (albeit in a lot of pain!!) by about 9:15 on each occasion. The pain has all but stopped now, thank god. I had 24/7 migraines for 10 solid days, not to mention the reffered pain throughout my whole jaw and face. Glad that's over! I have an appointment in a week or so once I'm completely healed, to be measured for some new front teeth. It feels like it's gone on for sooooooo long now. My first appoiuntment for all this was about 18 months ago.
  7. I'm afraid that was my reaction too.... I had Tenties in the shop at the time I saw these pics and I just said "Oh my God.... What on Earth has Barb done????" Must admit though, I am a big fan of the "short back and sides" on a coated breed.... probably defeats the pupose though I guess. Must be why I have Vizslas! :D
  8. I get the impression he's a good egg. She's lucky to have a good son, and he's lucky to have an understanding boss. Hope there's some good news to follow.
  9. Poor Woman. That really sucks. Aren't there special stockings to prevent DVT so she doesn't have to sit up in pain??? Hope Sean's coping ok.... it's hard to watch sometimes. My Dad has so many health issues, has had so many surgeries with horrible recovery periods, sometimes he says he'd rather it was all over . He has good days peppered sparingly amongst the bad. Hope she's on the mend soon! :)
  10. Oh no!!! That's awful. Well I hope he settles in good-o at your place, because Bundy being PTS because of that stupid Woman would just be disgusting.
  11. I am shopping around at the moment and have test-driven the Hyundai iLoad - absolutely bloody briliant! The iLoad would make a fantastic "Dog" Car. So much room..... endless versatility. You would soon become used to the 'size' of it.... doesn't really feel like a Van to drive and great on fuel. I'd be opting for the Turbo Diesel.
  12. Tell me about it!!! I love this weather. It brings shoppers out of the wood-work too. It went nuts at work today! What's the bet tlc was out and about with puppies & camera... How's your little one doing Tanya??? What does Bruno make of it all???
  13. You should have known about Pet Barn tlc.... it's right near the BGS! I've been in there.... not overly impressed. Again, you're better off going to Best Friends. :)
  14. While on the topic, I have heard recently that while Pet Barn have a 'no puppies' policy, the Pet Bard company is owned by a NZ Pet Store chain which is MASSIVE for selling Puppy Farm puppies over there. So, you think you are doing the right thing buying "puppy free" and then you discover that your $$$ is supporting puppy farms anyway! I actually think Best Friends is the best option.... I can't link them to Puppy Farms in any way, and they are pro-active in homing shelter dogs etc. Wish Best Friends would hurry up and come here.... there was talk of it a year ago but nothing came of it. They would do well in the old PGD store! )PS - I was in PGD the other day chatting to the Manager and there were RATS running around the back room!
  15. The other one you have would fit, with the seats folded down though, as the bottom of it would sit on the back of the folded seat and would then reach up to the roof!
  16. As I said, someone on the Coolie (Koolie?) thread seems to know this dog and where it's from. Edited to say.... this dog was surrendered by its owner, and isn't an escaped pet.
  17. Yeah? I heard about that Coolie and upon request, posted that it needs rescuing on the Coolie page. According to that page, the owner lost their house and stuff and couldn't feed the dog, so maybe not... Geez it sure as hell looks like Dusty though, although I only ever saw puppy pics. Now that you mention it, the age does fit Pandii's dog Surely not.... DOL members are well aware of the level of irresponsibility to "dump" a dog at the pound. So many of them are PTS, it's really sad. Surely a DOL member would seek the help from other DOLers before dumping their dog. Also, the dog at the pound is entire, I would have thought she'd have had him desexed. Someone on the Coolie page said they knew the dog, and said it was from Tooloola kennels or something... I wonder if they have been notified? I just hope someone is doing something to save this dog.... I know he's not the only dog that needs rescuing, but after someone drew my attention to it the other day, I kind of feel like I should do something. Taking him on is not an option - I gather he's been pretty messed-up in his original home. I have too many other animals to have a dog that can't be trusted, we often have snakes and stuff loose around the house, not to mention a toddler and other young kids. I am told he is a real working dog, and NEEDS to be worked daily, and should never have been a backyard pet. I just couldn't deal with a dog like that so I'm not going to take him in; it just wouldn't be fair on him. I reckon he'd be awesome at agility though, for someone dedicated enough! I'm going to look into it further, and see what can be done. Yes we really miss having a boy dog at home.... Red was our last boy and he was just amazing. Totally deaf from birth, yet learnt dozens of hand-signals with almost no formal training - brilliant, smart boy. We lost Red before we even moved to Warrnambool, so it's been a long time. Edited because I wrote that the dog was dumped in the pond.... while a better option for the dog, it wasn't factual. Stupid typing-fingers!
  18. Not a lot happening here..... just workin'. I see Pet Goods Direct are still going... They have made it hard here the last week or so - everyone wanting to get a bargain out there on reptile stuff, but as they can't give any advice, they are coming to me for that! I've had dozens of people in, spending a heap of time with them, teaching them all they need to know and giving them lists of everything they need, and then they walk off and spend their money at PGD! Funny thing is though, there is no warranty or returns on anything there, and as most of their stock is so old, lots of people are running into trouble already! Apparently, the Warrnambool store has moved a heap more stuff than any other store, so they are shipping pallets of stuff here and using our local PGD as like a "clearence centre". I'll be glad when they're gone, to be honest! Not a lot happening here... Expecting a litter late this year from Tarni. This may be our final litter too, as we just don't have the time to put into the pups as we once did and it's getting more difficult. We would like to keep a boy, but we'll see. I would be ok to not have any more litters actually, but we have people waiting for them so we don't have a lot of option.
  19. Well that just stinks! She needs to get herself a new fiance, if ya ask me!!!
  20. Geez I hope they haven't off-loaded Bundy elsewhere..... was a contract in place at all???
  21. I just had a Woman walk past my shop with TWO French Bulldogs. Of course, I stopped her for a quick chat..... "Geez, you don't see too many Frenchies around!" "I'm sorry?" "Your French Bulldogs.... they are very uncommon. I've never seen one except for at Dog Shows" I said. She replies, "Oh, is that what they are? I always wondered what they were, or what they were mixed with!" "Mixed with??? These are pedigree pure-bred French Bulldogs! They're worth a LOT of money!" She says "Oh really? I got the pair from the pound. They didn't know what they were there. They didn't cost me much at all!"
