  1. RJ! Sunday is probably ok, but I'll have to check with the boss....
  2. Interesting. I don't see that any member would have an issue with those requirements.
  3. My PC is playing up and I can't open a PDF. Would you be able to post it up here please???
  4. Anyone know anything of a fire today on Koroit Street? Hope it wasn't the bloody Telstra Shop!!! then again...
  5. Quote : Edited to add: I'm still keen to catch up for a puppy date and with anyone with puppy friendly dogs, especially those who are good at laying down some boundaries. My girls are a little too tolerant at times My Tarni would be perfect..... I'll see what I can do about meeting up when you guys do....
  6. It's not me.... It's an illusion. ETA - Thanks for pointing out that my anonymity had failed! Shall have to sign out and come back on in secret!!
  7. I do the same. Also, I know a bitch that dropped a pup into her water dish. I have never placed water in the whelping box since.
  8. Fingers (and toes) crossed here for Hungarian Vizsla puppies on January 27th. :)
  9. He's a lovely boy RJ.... hope it works out for you and he is able to join you on Sunday. Fingers crossed!! I think 'Angus' suits him. :)
  10. That is one bloody beaut puppy, Jess! Congratulations!
  11. I have friends & puppy-owners in WA, so have shared on my page too.
  12. Hahaha! Ya dill! Thanks... see you then. :)
  13. Fear not! I'm still around! Been really busy as usual (except for the 10 days we had no phone, internet or EFTpos!!!) and our Wildlife Incursions have kept us really busy lately with Chan tripping all around the west of the state doing shows. On top of that, we've got a litter due in January so that somehow seems to keep me busy, even early on. I tend to stress a lot too, when I know pups are on the way. Chan and the two younger girls are off to WA straight after Christmas so we're trying to tie-up lots of loose ends now, before she goes, as I'll be running this show alone, as well as the two older kids and the Zoo at home. Fun. Congrats on the puppy again, RJ...... I'm lucky enough to have seen pics and I can assure everyone he's super!! Can't believe Milah is 5 months already! Jess can't wait to see your puppy when you take possession!!! I love puppies. We are having our litter purely as we want another puppy. Things have changed the last year or so and we have the time again to put in. Just hope there's something nice enough to keep. Hope everyone's well. I may not get back in here again so.......
  14. Not a great deal happening here.... just working as usual. The shop's been crazy-busy which is good.... hope it keeps up til Christmas! Haven't had any time to get out for a good walk, off to Ballarat this Sunday and Melbourne the next for work.his Sunday gone will probably be my last day off until Christmas, bugger it!! I saw little Milah the other day..... she's super cute and almost made me wish we had another little one! (almost!) Glad as Hell Chantel wasn't there because she's been getting really clucky lately which sucks, as everyone we know is having babies!!!
  15. Many of the privately owned PP stores which remain, have rebranded themselves as "Pets Co". The GOOD thing that has come out of all this is that Pets Co will NOT be selling kittens or puppies, but will be promoting shelter adoptions. I have a pretty thick-skin, but I was very upset this week to see a litter of Cane Corso in a pet shops' glass box. I can't think of many worse breeds to be available to the impulse buyer.....
  16. I don't believe it has anything to do with dominance either. My Vizslas do it (as do many Vizslas) simply to be close to you.
  17. Really sorry to read about Sniff, RJ. Such a cool little dude! :)
  18. Quote: "and then do a stupid dance of ickiness and relief at having survived the experience " Loved this!!!
  19. I own a Pet Store, and we sell lots of spiders as pets. The strange thing is, the people buying them aren't the 'type' of person you would expect to be wanting them! I have had many "well to do" people, including Women and elderly people in for them. (Surprisingly, we get very few teen-boys in chasing them to make themselves appear 'tough'....) They seem to want something 'different', easy to keep, quiet, easy to house etc. I mainly sell Bird-Eating Spiders (Native Tarantulas), Trap-Door Spiders, QLD Funnel-Web Spiders, Mouse Spiders, Wolf Spiders, Golden-Orb Spiders etc. I see lots of other creepy-crawlies like Scorpions, Centipedes, Giant Millipedes and Giant Cockroaches etc. These are very popular too, but the Spiders are most in demand.
  20. I don't think the OP was "attacked" at all! I have been reading and waiting for this thread to become a train-wreck...... but it didn't. I think it's a topic which really hits home for some people and their 'passionate views' may come across as a little excessive at times, but I think the OP asked a question and was given opinions WITH reason. As has been said (Oakway perhaps???) the OP didn't like the answers she got so has picked up their bat and ball and gone home..... . What would have been wrong with a "thanks for opionions and food for thought; I'll look into this further!"?????
