  1. Boiling water will kill quite a lot, good for those paver areas.
  2. I'd be cautious about this formula and suggest to be sparing with use of it. You might kill some weeds but will end up killing desirable plants as well with a soil salination issue and that would not be an easy problem to reverse. Pulling them out is the safest method. My dogs love it when I weed the garden.
  3. Thanks for posting aussielover because I have had a similar issue with some unwelcome cat/s (killing birds in my yard) and I have found some of the feedback informative and helpful.
  4. Wow, that is so sad, I hope the little fella is found and will be safe at home soon.
  5. My sincere apologies Jed, I misunderstood. I read it as though you knew it came from Australia.
  6. The initial post did not inform us of that so thanks for the clarification if that is the case.
  7. I'm so sorry casowner and feel for you in losing Jake . RIP dear Jake.
  8. I hope you do get your new Dell soon, I've been very happy with mine and with the customer support. Kaye
  9. I'm so sorry to hear he did not survive the bee attack . RIP Hugo. My thoughts are with you too as this must be so hard to deal with, take care.
  10. I'm sorry for your loss, run free Crystal. I lit a candle thinking of all our oldies gone to the bridge and of course it brought some tears.
  11. Is it ok if we trade them in after a few months if they bark too much, don't train themselves and need too many walkies and things like that? edted cause I can't spell
  12. Hi and welcome Baxter, what a handsome boy!! :D
  13. I just saw this thread and it brought a few tears as well as cheered and touched my heart. I feel it was so very kind of you all to help out. I wish the doggy a speedy recovery.
  14. I'm so glad my dogs are not computer inclined and reading this thread or I might get sprung for stretching the truth. I tell my two daily that they are the best dogs in the whole world. There was another best one, he went to the bridge 5 years ago now, I still miss him . They are all the best hey! My dogs are to me. :D
  15. Sorry to hear of your loss. RIP little fella
  16. I send my condolences Anne
  17. Yes, the lens might be worth keeping. I would have thought a 350D lens would be compatible with a 500D camera. I'm no expert though but that's how the old lens systems worked. Maybe find out before you part with it. edted to make more sense!
  18. Well, being 'your' leg what does 'your' instinct tell you? Out of caution and lack of knowledge about germs in humans and germs in dogs I would prefer my dog did not lick any wound I had. Just common sense really, try salt instead perhaps! Would you lick any wound your dog had?
  19. My commiserations kazads, it's a big thing losing your mum. Good topic, it's about the only thing I really care/worry about; ie if I was to go before my (two) dogs. If at all possible I would want them to stay together, they have never been apart. I don't have human kids and would leave them everything. I noted Steve's post and might look into that. I wouldn't trust family to understand to be able to suitably rehome them. There have been times in the last few years when the blues have hit so bad that my dogs have been my only reason I have wanted to go on living. There's no way I would have them abandoned.
  20. Just lit some too from me and my girls. Haven't posted much but have been quietly thinking of you Jed, Kaye, formerly WhiteEagle.
  21. Hi sllebasi, I'll share my experience but as persephone said, every dog is different and I am still not sure what is best for dog. One of my Labradors had pancreatitis last year and we put her on a diet of cooked, diced kangaroo (I wasn't sure about parasite issues so I cooked it and also removed any fat - which was hardly any). After 6 months on the kangaroo diet she started losing weight and was diagnosed with kidney failure. She has been on Royal Canine Renal diet ever since and has returned to a good healthy weight and so far been a happy dog. I'm not suggesting this diet of course, but to say, though the cause is not certain she did develop kidney problems after a kangaroo diet. I do worry about the pancreatitis returning though. She also has grass allergy issues (the kangaroo diet was also part of an elimination diet for her allergies). I wish you well in finding a workable diet, you might be better to give her chicken breasts. edited to add more
  22. I don't rememeber it taking long at all Bub. She's such a guts (Labrador) and so stoic that I think she would eat under a general if she could lol. It was about 7 years ago now but I think she was right in a day or so after the extraction. No bones for a while though.
  23. One of mine had a molar removed when she was young (it was deformed and had abscessed ). She had to have a general anesthetic to have it extracted. The vet now thinks it would have been better if the opposing tooth had been removed as well because that now suffers from having no chewing mate (if that makes sense). She needs to have it scaled and cleaned a fair bit. I hope Bitty's tooth can be saved.
