  1. Check the fine print carefully. You may find that preventable disease, ie diseases you can vaccinate for, are not covered, even if the dogs is vaccinated. Pet insurance is not worth it in my experience. Too many exclusions and excesses.
  2. Did you even read the responses related to this before posting? Any comments without reading is lazy and irresponsible. As if I'd listen to any advice from someone that hasn't taken the time to research yes I have read the thread, though I found your posts somewhat arrogant and tedious, oh and personal attacks are against forum rules, so you may want to read them before you continue in this vein Once again, please take Poodlefan's advice re the covered water bowl, and I would also like to know how you can ascertain if the pup is dehydrated or not. You must have an astronomical vet bill! Oh, and BTW, it is really bad form to highjack someone else's topic and then start abusing other posters
  3. One of the most important and basic rules of dog ownership is that they MUST have access to clean fresh water at ALL times. Please do not deprive your dog of water just becuase you don't like having to clean up a bit of water on on the floor. Also, please do not disregard and belittle the advicegiven here by EXPERIENCED dog owners. They have the best interests of your pup at heart and you can learn a lot from them.

  5. Why did the vet give amoxil for gastro? Amoxil is likely to cause the runs, not treat them. You need some Protexin.
  6. What breed is he? I would wait till at least 6/7 months - longer for a large breed.
  7. Looks fine to me. Swelling may have caused slight separation but that will settle and it will heal OK.
  8. why should that matter? My dogs eat raw bones straight from the freezer sometimes.
  9. Never feed cooked bones. The pet chicken mince has bones in it, so feed raw!
  10. Raw chicken bones will bind up even further. Never in my experience. Dogs live on them and have never had a day of constipation in their lives. It depends on what is fed with them. Feed some roughage (fruit and veg) and some oil and there will be no problems. Meat on it's own and commercial tinned stuff is a poor diet. I would avoid lamb flaps - far too fatty.
  11. Your dog needs some roughage. You can add some mashed pumpkin, grated carrot and apple and sardines in oil will all help. You should feed meat on the bone too. Lamb shanks are not good, too fatty and bones are too hard to digest. Try raw chicken bones
  12. No different to anyone else in this thread. Why would they be?
  13. What breed have you got? See. Told you
  14. It's only natural to ask what breed.. and fair.
  15. Hi Deb08 and welcome to dogzonline What sort of pup did you get? A crate is always a good idea when introducing a new pup to an older dog, so they don't get in their face too much.
  16. Pasta and Rice are crap. They are fillers, no nutritional benefit. You're vet is an idiot, find a new one. The vet is not an idiot at all and is spot on about stopping the mince. Meat needs to be fed on the bone to enable calcium absorption. A little rice and pasta is fine, although not necessary.
  17. Goodo is full of sugar. Please don't feed your dog that stuff! Get some liver treats.
  18. Oh no! I had been following her pregnancy. I can't believe it. So sorry
  19. How much socialising/interaction with other dogs does he get now? It is something that must be continued, not just done when he is little. Can you arrange play dates with freinds dogs?
  20. Bingo I hope you are not dumb enough to feed the wool to your dog
  21. What size dog does the pack do? I would also use it as there is a huge range either side of the guestimate on the pack.
