  1. Group 5 Big - sheltie Rubig - Collie Rough
  2. Brown and Gold jacket - 4P Brand new, never worn - with pockets $39 plus postage SOLD
  3. I'll second the above product - we used one of these with our daughter - great because they have a floor and roof to keep little people in and dogs out plus the larger flying insects! Not meaning to make a child sound like a dog but we always bring "high value toys" to shows - ones that we've set aside that are special but only come out for shows or events where we really want the little person to be absorbed for a few hours.
  4. BIG: Puli RUBIG: Aussie Shepherd OIG: Aussie Shepherd (our Poppy) ABIG: as per BIG & RUBIG IIG: Aussie Shepherd JIG: GSD PIG: Corgi (Pem) MPIG: Sheltie BPIG: GSD (LSC)
  5. I don't think the person who bred the dog did anything legally wrong at the time. The dog was born prior to the new laws. At the time the dog was born, only purebred APBT were restricted breed, and the sire of the dog involved in the attack weighs in at 45kg. I thought it was illegal, at time of dog being born that RB's could be entire?
  6. Did folk miss this bit? It's not WOULD not rescue, it's COULD not rescue. You either have the equipment and the skills and experience to work at that sort of height or you don't. Council doesn't fund the fire brigade. I'm all for sheeting responsibility home.. but not in this case. Emergency services are funded by the state, not local councils. They weren't the bad guys here. Fire brigade would have been the first people I called.I fail to see the point in duplicating expensive equipment when one service was able to assist. And lord knows the HSE issues if council had to go out and if or not their workers had the correct training. Bet there would have been more screaming and carry on if a worker had gotten injured because they did not have the suitable qualifications :)
  7. Exactly! I'm still waiting to see who we get and depending on who it is whether to go or not, organise a new handler, etc or whether I just cancel everything including the leave I've booked in for work.
  8. I'm not blaming the victim, Butch - I'm blaming the owners
  9. If my memory serves me correctly Butch's owners tried to register him as a restricted breed (and were willing to comply with all the keeping requirements) the day before the amnesty ended. They didn't realize the cost to register a RB is so much higher and didn't bring enough money with them. They were prepared to go home and get more but were told not to worry about it -just come back tomorrow. They turned up first thing the next morning and were told the amnesty had ended and they were not allowed to register him. The officers immediately went and seized him. Butch doesn't appear to be a young puppy - why didn't his owners register him as a RB ages ago??? Would have saved ratepayers a stack of money and avoided the distress they caused to their own dog.
  10. Me three please - Aussie shepherds
  11. Love that you post breed breakdowns! Good luck to everyone competing. Not many Aussies entered :-(
  12. How very sad for the family Hopefully the killers will be destroyed.
  13. Could blow off the dog from the neighbouring table :)
  14. +1 ..... you're in a minority of at least 2! + me too - agreed. And strangly enough I agree with her point on hygene. We go out to cafes and restaurants not only to avoid cooking but also to get out of the house/relax and catch up with friends, etc and it's nice not having to scan for animal hair in my meal!
  15. We're on almost 2 acres and our perimeter fence is very similar to this but we also have boards attached to the bottom of the fence (coated in sump oil)- keeps neighbour roaming dogs out and seems to deter snakes from entering. Our house yard in the roll-top pool fencing which we got cheap off ebay :-)
  16. I am going to have one yard that's fake turf as a I a dog that's allergic to everything. Concrete's going to be laid at slight angle to help drainage and the turf we have is the stuff that drains well and we have enough to replace the yard 3 times over! Our other yard is a mixture of native grass - looks like a tear drop and a kikuya
  17. Posted my entries one week before closing and they got lost Local show too, double sad face. Good luck to everyone going.
  18. I keep a spreadsheet with my dogs results. I include: * who was entered & results * whether they were rough or not * if they seemed more interested in the other ring * if they addressed certain exhibitors by their name and had a good old chinwag * any positive/negtative comments made about my dog or breed in general. * who they put up for BIG/RUBIG
  19. If the owners of the two puppies had registered their dogs with the Council at 3 months (which the way I read Moira's policy as the age puppies/kittens had to be registered) instead of waiting until they were 7 months would that have avoided the animals be seized and destroyed?
  20. Groups 2, 3 & 5 change rings. That's just crazy! Got my numbers back yesterday but didn't actually read the layout, Lol.
  21. I agree 100% with the above - the law needs to be changed. It's heartbreaking to think of those poor dogs being stuck in a pound for ages all because of what humans have done - the law makers, council, their breeder and owners :-(
  22. Just trying to get my head around all of this: 1) The dogs were seized when they were just over 7 months old in September 2011 a few days before the amnesty was up? 2) The owner had not registered them with the Council prior to the dogs being 7mths old?
  23. No. So they were born before the amended BSL came in affect?
  24. Sorry if the answer's as clear as mud - so much information on this topic but were the two dogs born before or after the amnesty came into affect?
