  1. Judgement for Mylo will be handed down tomorrow at 9.30am Oh doG I hope they send him home. Facebook link My link
  2. The offer of the refund is very fair. In all honesty, I wouldn't pay $45 for what you received either (including postage). The boxes should be at the very least, pet appropriate (for the pet you signed up). Reminds me of a certain Red Paw Paw discussion in OT not long ago.
  3. The victim could sue civilly for his pain and suffering. Although not a lot of point if the offender doesn't own anything or have the money to cover the compensation that could be awarded. Sad but true. I am guessing he could go for victim compensation from the state as well?? I think jail time is only appropriate if the person actually told their dogs to attack another person. Hefty fines are good!

    Cherry

Sorry Huski, I just saw this on here. Rest in peace sweet Cherry.
  5. More than likely another brindle pound mutt but I would love another purebred SBT one day. I admire all our BCs at training, so smart and they look really easy to train. I don't think I would ever own one though - all that hair, all over everything, all the time.. I just adore the Vizsla's - we have a couple in our class at obedience and Zig plays with a little girl, who is just divine. I could see myself with one. I love Dobes but can't see myself with one.
  6. Sadly I think a lot of dogs would go with someone putting a lead on them - they would just think they were going for a walk! So happy he has been returned. Mine won't go if someone else puts a lead on them unless I walk a couple of steps in the direction they're supposed to be walk..even with the vet. However they're small enough to be picked up. I don't think Zig would either - he freezes if our obedience instructor takes his lead and I am there with him. I know Ollie dog would have gone with anyone attaching a leash to his collar - he loved to go for walks. I agree about the cameras being a good idea - sad that we have to resort to videoing out own homes these days.
  7. Sadly I think a lot of dogs would go with someone putting a lead on them - they would just think they were going for a walk! So happy he has been returned.
  8. Go Hobbes, I hope he has many more years of senile puppy fun with you Ricey.
  9. I don't mind a little interrogation but I still believe she was a bit excessive and to no avail because, ultimately, a few snapshots of a backyard, a person, the interior of a home or whatever else proves absolutely nothing. It's no indication of what I'm like as a person and if I'm capable of looking after her beloved dog. I spoke to this person at length, we covered a wide array of subjects concerning dogs, I also told her a great deal about myself and about my past pets, that should have been more than sufficient in telling her I am a responsible person who doesn't take animals for granted. I don't breed but foster dogs - I go to the homes of possible adopters a couple of times to see where the dog/pup will be living. I ask what they do for a living, how much time with the dog be on its own, what sort of exercise/enrichment/training will be done with the dog. I ask loads of questions and if someone was put out by my questions,I woudl think they had something to hide. I don't need photos because I visit the locations (fosters only go to homes nearby). I think this breeder sounds like she is being thorough and I applaud her for it - sounds like she just wants the best home for her pups.
  10. Not a lawyer so don't really know but I would hope that it would be enough to keep these dogs alive and send them home.
  11. My link Kerser's hearing concluded yesterday.. The above link is a facebook link to the BAWP page. If you don't use FB, here is all it says: KERSER HEARING CONCLUDES The hearing of Kerser’s case concluded this morning before VCAT President, Garde J. Judgement is reserved. As in Mylo’s case, it is expected it will be some weeks before judgement is delivered. The Panel extends its grateful thanks to Panel counsel Richard Kendall QC and Andrew Felkel, instructed by Daniel Beecher of Phoenix Legal Solutions, for all their endeavour on behalf of Jade Applebee and Kerser. Everything crossed for a positive outcome for both Kerser and Mylo - wouldn't it be lovely to see them go home for Christmas.
  12. Yes, that would be great, if they lost big money on the matters. Horrid, stupid laws! We have been pretty lucky here in our town - we always had great rangers as far as BSL was concerned. Sadly we have a new one, with a major chip on his shoulder about PBs.
  13. That's one brave pom!!!! Mine aren't that game they just yap from a distance but are quick to shut up when the larger dog approaches!! Lol that is cute - we used to have a little black pom come to our leash free park and she ruled it. Zig adored her and used to crawl up to her, so he could lick her face (well, it was her whole head, she was so little).. She was one of three that used to come up all the time and she was so much smaller than her pack mates - teeny, tiny little thing. I think they moved away but they were the loveliest little dogs and not afraid of the big dogs at all - one used to chase a pom sized tennis ball and race around with all the big dogs.
  14. I am the same as Kavik - his walk or leash free time is also 'me' time because it gets me out of the house as well. He has no issue with running around in any sort of rainy weather - the wetter the better.
  15. I was just going to post the same thing grumpette - they certainly do pick us.. What a great story.
  16. I agree with others, it should be checked by a vet. My boy had a bit of a limp and I noticed it was worse after exercise. After tests and x-rays, it turns out he has hip dysplasia (much worse in his right hip)..
  17. Personally prefer male dogs but don't really have a bias against females. My son doesn't like female dogs - one bitch in heat was enough to put him off and he said he would never own one because of it..
  18. I agree Mel - Jade and Kerser's story just breaks my heart.
  19. I totally agree with Ness. I am not sure that Zig and I would still be training if I hadn't have had the progress that Steve showed us how to get. Looking forward to the online courses. Especially the TID one. We have the very basics of it, from the work we did but to do the whole course would be awesome.
  20. You would have loved K9's stand at the recent I Love Dogs Show in Sydney. One of the dogs was working with their owner. Steve tried to interrupt their focus with the same ball on a rope. No chance until the owner gave the stop command. Then the dog dive-bombed the other ball. Dog was having a total blast in front a whole group of strangers. Huski does not know yet.... I am going to dognap the beagle AND Wiz!!! j/k truly I have been fortunate enough to have Steve (from K9 Pro) help me with Ziggy in the past - Zig is not as focused as the dogs in the video but has improved out of sight, compared to what he was like. I have also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Huski, when we were up there.
  21. Love it - I swear I grin from the start to the end when I see dogs having so much fun!
  22. Thanks guys - I was just curious if the litter was supposed to be registered because they are a dogs NSW member..
  23. I don't want to dob them in or anything - I think it may have been an oops litter. I was curious because someone else mentioned it and then someone else said it was allowed. The pups are just gorgeous (great dane puppies).
  24. I am sure this has been asked a thousand times but I can't find it. Selling unregistered pups from registered parents - the breeder has noted their Dogs NSW number but said the pups are not registered. I thought they had to register all litters?? Or am I wrong (again)?
