Mine like apples except the pups I gave them some slices and they weren't interested. Also mine love carrots as treats a whole carrot not peeled, just as a treatI hand them to them they will go to there spot and have a munch .. it comes out all in the poo tho Some will eat banana slices

hello all, I sent a bitch away on wednesday (shes in season) and she has become a bit stressed out - this is her first time away from home without me & she is a shy girl - She has had the runs since she went away, refusing to eat but has started eating a wee bit, has also been vomitting, but I think she just has the runs now... Any suggestions on a 'natural' remedy to help firm the poo?? I have suggested mashed Pumpkin & yogurt

Do you have a crate that you can put her inside while away?? otherwise a lil playmate may have to do

Boiled sheep hearts - have feed it to my fussy skinny eater before she ate it also added brown rice to the pot as well did have a suggestion from someone else who adds Rolled oats to it .. Als feed her Sausages, and macaroni cheese.

Must be that time of the year for skinny dogs to put on weight My whippet bitch India was always skinny but with in the last couple of months has gained weight and for once is looking decent!!! All I did was switch the brand of dry food.. From Bosch to Pro Plan Performance.. What a difference it has made she no longer fusses around with her food. Except today she preferred to sit by the heater then eat

I have had the same problem with my whippet bitch - tried everything but something that seem to put the weight on was boiled sheeps heart and brown rice, added other things to it as well like cream cheese also oats soaked and cooked in goats milk or coconut cream.

I usually just give it out during the day - But I feed my dogs twice a day am & pm !! It seems to work!! As I also have a dog that is picky (she seems to be better now) but now just can't keep the weight on her!!

Goats Milk increases appertite!!

I don't see no mharm in using human shampoo - I would dilute it... I dilute all the dogs shampoo - makes it last that bit longer

I never seen you close your eyes, I never seen you die. But worst of all , I never got to say goodbye.

Just reading this thread now ....So sorry to hear of the tragic loss of those lovely whippets. I'm sure Ally will come around soon and start eating, I know first hand, as when my whippet Sparky (also got called Mr Whippy) kennel mate and best friend (they were always together) died he freted for her and would just mope around and cry and not eat as well but as they say time mends a broken heart and eventully came back to normal. Plus also know first hand what you are feeling and going through when you know that they could be still alive if it wasn't for humans. As had a dog that was also ran over because my sisters woudn't get out of bed to let her in (as I wasn't at home at the time) ....... They let her outside, then went to bed- both heard her whinning at the door wanting in but they igorned her so she went for a wee wonder on to the main road and was hit by a car. And what was worse didn't know what had happened to her til 2 weeks later. Although this was 10 yrs ago. You never forget. I think it is wrong that some vets wont let you take your pet home after he has been PTS. I wonder what some of the owners think happens to them after they leave. I bet they don't think... Shoved in a plastic bag and thrown in the tip A mass grave dug with all the pets etc.. that have been put down at that time. I like to bury my pets in the garden.

A couple of years ago it only cost me $40 which I thought was fear plus the vet even came up to my house to put the dog to sleep. This was in New zealand in a small district town
