Sorry to hear this - so very sad.

Yes its sort of like buying feathers - seems to be a huge amount doesn't it ? I'm glad you like the sample too.

My daughters were under the skin also .
-
problem is its different in all states
-
Yep - The NSW one you will need to give paperwork to state you are selling the dog as the current owner and have them take that to the council in Queensland. You can download a change of ownership form from the NSW Companion Animals website and fill it out and post it to them to change it into the new owners name as you would have to do if you lived in NSW but the new owner will be where you are - on the NSW registry as the new owner and nowhere else
-
I can just see them policing this too.

Not with dogs with my daughter - we went through years of medical treatments and creams and drugs to no avail. Then we happened upon Aloe Vera - drank the juice and applied the gel - and that was an almost instant difference - and its never returned even though the treatment with the aloe only went for approx 2 months Go to google and type in Autoimmune Induced Granuloma aloe see whether anything there helps.

Can Somebody Suggest A Good Solicitor
Steve replied to JRT RESCUE's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Glad is all been sorted - but this is a definition of owner FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS ACT. So if the dog gets out and bites someone the person on the microchip wears the fine - but not for the purposes such as family law etc. -
Concerns Rspca Is Destroying Pets That Could Be Kept Alive
Steve replied to Boronia's topic in In The News
I also agree with Ricey - however, when an inspector seizes someone's animals and they are put down without a second opinion - bodies of those animals destroyed and the owner standing accused and no way to intervene to have their animals assessed by an independent vet or saved - then there is something wrong with the system -
My oldest was one month shy of her 22nd birthday a beagle .I knew it was almost time and hated the idea of having to do it for her but she saved me from that and quietly simply went to sleep. She was there when I had my children, whem my house burnt down, when my first marriage broke up,when my Dad died .She listened and made me feel that I was never alone, she made me feel she loved me almost as much as I loved her .Saying good bye to her was one of the hardest things Ive ever done in my life - I still own one of her great great great grandaughters.

Usual advice is two to three cups a day - its not so bad with honey and its pretty good icy cold - even the kids don't mind it like that but I cant come at hot with nothing to cover up the taste.

You were right Im always interested .

Anything you can do with Calendula for humans you can do for dogs. I think Bur Marigold is a completely different family to Calendula? Yep you're right it is but its been used for centuries for similar things with skin that Calendula is used for .Hard to imagine that they wouldn't use it for dogs. There isnt as much research on it and from memory its a sticky seed which gets stuck to dog's coats and likely to get stuck in their throat etc There is no doubt that it is also great for skin problems and stings, cuts etc and no warnings on it for dogs but Id still stick with the Calendula.

Best ever chews - take a sweet potato, wash and dry, cut into strips lengthwise about a quarter of an inch thick - go a bit thicker rather than thinner . Place the strips on baking paper and bake for three hours for chewy or 30 mins longer for crunchy turning half way through. You can smear em with peanut butter or sprinkle with powdered beef stock too for an extra yummy treat.

I can give you a recipe to make a great dog's tooth paste, help you with which herbs to add to its food to help keep bacteria away from the teeth and dissolve some of the plaque + offer you some suggestions for some common foods to feed to help if you like - depending on how bad the teeth are now you may need to go and have one more vet clean but there are several things you can do to prevent it needing to happen again. There's also nothing stopping you from using a tooth scaler yourself = a little bit every few days if your dog is O.K. about you doing stuff like that.

Why does your pug need coat conditioner? Just curious, 'cause if the coat is dry or dull, this could indicate a dietary deficiency of sorts and might be best and in the long-term easiest to remedy from the inside out instead of the other way around. There is nothing wrong with his coat. I would just like to try the calendula :) Aaah … ok :) . Just misunderstood, sorry. I think Calendula is good as a bath time wash instead of shampoo No worries :) I like to lavish my Pug and I think the Calendula might compliment what I'm already doing. And I think it would be good for his skin, seeing as though he is recovering from multiple mast cell tumours and he has scars from surgery. Also, my naturopath and I did consider adding Calendula to his liquid herbal remedy, which contains Astragalus, Burdock, Milk Thistle and Clivers because Calendula has similar lymph gland healing properties to Clivers. (He had swollen lymph glands.) He is the most spoilt Pug in the universe  eta Yes, I'm considering giving him a Calendula rinse every now and then. I have a blend of Tea for the immune system too with organic Austragalus, Echinacea, lemon myrtle, Siberian Ginseng and Calendula. Great with honey in the winter time too. The dogs love those tea leaves too. One of these days Ill have all of the blends up on the website - focus the awards nominations come first . Ive just made a luverly one specially for Dannysdarling to try for insomnia.

Thank you - shampoo and conditioner sample on its way too.

There are a couple of link of page 1. If I were you I'd go with Steve's organic supply! Also supporting a DOLer! I feel like a total twit because I just realised that my homeopathic vet has been giving me calendula cream (that she makes herself) for years to treat wounds and rashes. How did I not make the link in my brain???? Easy to do - its how we are trained via traditional treatments and medicines. Not many of us automatically put together a cream and a tea. I did a course in herbal medicine about 40 years ago I think I must be one of the first in the country to do it - raised all my kids and my dogs using it so its part of my everyday life - I go for herbal and natural first and do all I can to avoid drugs and medicines. It takes a change of focus and then you become amazed at what is available.

You're welcome Im glad you liked the sample too - smells beautiful doesn't it?

Oh that sounds great. I use Aloveen leave in conditioner but I think Aloveen is causing the itchies after their baths. They only itch on bath day. Would you be kind enough to pop a sample of the conditioner in with my order too please Julie. I'd like to try it on my Cavaliers. I'm looking forward to trying the Calendula products and I'll mention them to my son who has a mini Schnauzer pup that has the itchies. Schnauzers seem prone to skin issues. His previous standard Schnauzer had the same problem and my son tried a number of products to try to overcome the problem. Yep its on its way

I think it would be pretty stressful for the dog to be awake and having someone trying to clean her teeth but Im with you I dont like the idea of an anaesthetic Couple of questions - what are you cleaning her teeth with and how and is the genetic condition a gum issue or teeth issue? Julie

Ive got a leave on or wash off PH balanced conditioner with calendula - if you want to give it a go P.M. me your address and Ill send you a sample - its not on the website yet Ive got that and several more things to add but the awards have me on go slow until I've called all of the nominees - so its coming next.

There are several studies showing the differences in organic versus non organic with the immune system and its not just about whether they use chemicals to grow them either - here is one. Not sure I understand why or how but My conclusion is for an extra dollar the organic is probably the best. My link Abstract Extracts of dried flowers from Calendula officinalis were examined for their ability to inhibit the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) replication. Both organic and aqueous extracts were relatively nontoxic to human lymphocytic Molt-4 cells, but only the organic one exhibited potent anti-HIV activity in an in vitro MTT/tetrazolium-based assay. In addition, in the presence of the organic extract (500 micrograms/mL), the uninfected Molt-4 cells were completely protected for up to 24 h from fusion and subsequent death, caused by cocultivation with persistently infected U-937/HIV-1 cells. It was also found that the organic extract from Calendula officinalis flowers caused a significant dose- and time-dependent reduction of HIV-1 reverse transcription (RT) activity. An 85% RT inhibition was achieved after a 30 min treatment of partially purified enzyme in a cell-free system. These results suggested that organic extract of flowers from Calendula officinalis possesses anti-HIV properties of therapeutic interest.
