Kallistar are you going to be at the trial this weekend?? If so come and say hi we will be the ones drinking after failing UDX yet again
-
No boarding fees - the girl travelled across Norway from her breeders home and stayed with my other dogs breeder for 3 weeks before travelling to Perth, so I was very lucky. Mind you I didn't have a lot of change out of $10000 once you added on the cost of the dog. Dogs travelling from Norway also don't need rabies vaccinations - so I didn't have to worry about that.
-
Can't help you from the US - but all up it cost me $5000 to bring in a 2 1/2 year old bitch - weight 16kg (including blood tests, vet bill, quarantine and flights) from Norway - that doesn't include the cost of the dog.

Fantastic brags to wake up to on a Sunday morning TO and kathq. TO makes me think I need to blow the dust off the young kids and give them another go at agility.

http://www.amazon.com/JW-Pet-Company-iSqueak-Rubber/dp/B000MD59B0 I just purchased 12 medium and 3 small and postage worked out to be just over $14

OK whinge for the day - can you believe that somebody stole my ride on lawn mower

Nina doesn't do cuddles - she is too busy. I took her to K9 on Wednesday - agility training and she explored while they were setting up the equipment. I would have expected a pup of that age to stay close by and to be unsure - but nope - went up and said hello to everybody - checked out all the equipment, came belting back when called, jumped out of the car when it wasn't her turn, jumped all over a much older pup and strutted around like she owned the place. Going to have to keep my eye on bedazzled as I think she might swap the kelpie given half a chance

Hey RV its a lovely photo of Zora on FB Hmm I have too many dogs to fit on my bed Tumbleweed - when I lived in Bunbury I used to send challenges I called them to Livertreats in Perth - so things like your challenge this week is to be able to leave the kids in a sit stay in the lounge room and for you to walk to the kitchen open the pantry door and return without them moving. She also taught her kids scent discrimination by correspondence - so it can be done and its a really good idea for motivation. You could perhaps start a thread and issue a challenge for people to try and report back on - just a thought - you could even use the training thread. Its been 4.30 starts on all but one day for me in the last week - thank you Nina - the joys of having a 13 week old puppy. Loving every minute of her - I wanted a out there in your face, naughty puppy with lots of attitude and that's what I got. Time will tell if she is anywhere near as good as her mum. Bedazzled and I are heading to Melbourne with the boys in a couple of weeks time for a drinking holiday/obedience competition - need to do some training between now and then
-
Some good brags - well done TO and Jovi and good luck at the trial next weekend Ness you should be tickled pink. Made getting up with the sparrows well worth it and no reason why you should enter the last trial of the year.. Keep up the great work girls.
-
Hey Leopuppy - are you entering your kids in obedience on the weekend of the 4th and 5th August??
-
Happy Birthday to Gibbs - so do tell what special presents did he get?
-
What a terrific start to your trip away Tassie - 2 cakes at your next training session back home I think

I found the video from our first bulk i-squeak order I wish I had ordered a few more
-
Yep time shortage is a real problem for me too. Have started a new job, have a new puppy who wakes up anywhere between 3.20 and 5.30am and my cook is going away for 2 months Heading to Melbourne to compete in a couple of weeks time and so far the only training I have done has been virtual stuff - virtually nothing

Old i-squeak balls - can you let me know how many you have as that is what I am chasing (not for the sound but for the rubber they are made from) Thanks :-)
-
Is anybody is oz selling the old medium i-squeak balls - if so can you let me know please
-
Having done HUGE i-squeak orders in the past (and we are talking hundreds of balls) - the original ones last much much longer than the ones I have purchased in the last year. Maybe its time to do another order

We went down the goat and sweet potato route. You can get goat, roo and horse from the South Street Pet Supply shop. My kids generally don't like roo either.
-
Gees as I said on the oz obedience list I think this brag should be in capital letters with a big YIPPPEEE at the end. Well done and especially after your trip away. Did you happen to get the round videoed?
-
FANTASTIC Xena 98 - I know what sort of roller coaster ride you have been on

Fantastic work - hard to believe you only started tracking 30 seconds ago! So onto Track 4 you go.......Good Luck
-
OSS - what a bugger. Any idea how long ago she did it or how she did it? and do you have pet insurance?
-
Nina photos - I wanted an outgoing baby and I got what I asked for

Wuffles - I am concerned that the dog breaking and then you resetting her and her getting is right and you rewarding has set up a behaviour chain. You have 3 choices - give her a break for a week or two and see if that helps - set her up so she will always be right - so go back to standing right in front and rewarding often - if you leave her and she breaks - pop the lead on and go and put her back in the car for a moment or two (yep very negative - but it clearly tells the dog there was a problem with what happened). I had issues with Soggy's stays and I did 2 things, trained an active stay and also had somebody I really really trusted - go in and reward her at varying intervals - which made her think that the judge may come up at any time and reward her.
