Hey Murve - how come this trial schedule is out so early when the trial isn't until the 25th August? Is there anywhere we can look at earlier trial schedules?

Fantastic Tiggy - is he OK???

I believe the area assigned is still bushland, so a proposal is being drawn up and it will be sumitted to council shortly (I think thats how I understand it). It is supposedly for ADDA, but I believe the council will incorporate all dog activities into this area which is fairly big. So a big hats off to the council for coming to the party and well done to Janice and Roger for doing all the leg work.

Snazzy was the star today 198 was fantastic. Just imagine how good he would be if you actually trained Well done to TSD on Em's results in agility and retrieving and to Rubystar who has 2 x 100 scores under her belt in Rally O - how good is that Had a full on weekend - Scoota got 2nd to Brookie yesterday in UD and then came out and won UD today. Yep it was work I would like to bottle. His UDX round was also terrific today - just wish they would get rid of the distance control exercise!. He also got 2 Rally passes, 98 yesterday and 100 today Beans was being rehomed to anybody who looked remotely interested yesterday, but somebody did a dog swap overnight and she came out and worked really well to finished second to Snaz with 195. I think she might have heard me discussing her retirement with BeDazzled yesterday She also got a Rally pass yesterday and today. Strauss made his open debut yesterday and scored zero for every exercise, but today came out and only failed the SFE - lovely work from the baby dog. Strauss also got 2 Rally passes over the weekend. We will all sleep well tonight......

I used to use Vetwest in Canning Vale - but fell out with them Have moved to Ranford Vet and so far every encounter has been very impressive from the front counter staff to the treating vet.

Still nothing. Have there been any sightings? How long before you are back home?

Do we have any updates/news on Buster?

From a performance point of view - the girls learn more quickly, and never forget, but then you have the hormones to deal with. The boys I find you have to break it down into little tiny pieces, then just when you think they've got it, they really haven't. If you don't continually practice, they tend to forget. But I find the boys would walk over hot coals for you where the girls tends to have the attitude of hmm maybe not today..... My top 2 obedience dogs - one is a boy and the other a girl (but I think I prefer the boys)

Yikes Tiggy - has your dad phoned all the vets in the area?

Knowing who mum is - did I really expect anything else :) Interesting that she is not aggressive towards any of the other kids, happy to run with them, jumps the inside gate to be with them. My first day back at work and I got home and she had trashed the single bed I had been sleeping in which is in the same room as the whelping box - doona and sheets had been partly removed from the bed and the pillow was on the floor. At least she had left the whelping box alone :-)

Missymoo what food do you give your babies first up? I am after some suggestions :D My babies are all doing well. They are 9 days old today and 2 out of the 3 have hit the 1kg mark. Mum is settling down after becoming very protective and wanting to dig up the whelping box and lay on the babies. One evening I heard the babies screaming - so raced in to find the whelping box had been dug up and i could only find 2 of the puppies. Mum had put the third one in the clothes basket, covered it with a towel and was laying on it.

Congrats Mirawee on Banjo's JD title Emery I admire you being able to fit in a bike ride with all your kids

Drop off time is usually 90 minutes beforehand. As others have said - no sedation and you feel worse than the dog who usually gets off the other end with a waggy tail and happy to see you. For 30kg weight (dog and crate) costs per sector is usually $100.

In a mock trial don't feel that you have to wait until the end of the exercise to reward I do a lot of playing - pushing the dog away, hand touches, encouraging the dog to jump up

I have imported 2 dogs from Norway in the last 20 months. The cost of importing including the cost of the dog - for a 12 week old puppy it was just over $7000 - for an adult dog it was closer to $9500. I used Scandipet the first time for booking flights, the second time the breeder did it for me and I booked the quarantine side of things at Byford both times. Quarantine you now have to pay upfront too - 30 nights at $39 a day - so looking at about $1400 there abouts.

How did Gibbs go with his X-ray today?

Having a few issues around 3am which means I am up for the rest of the day and thanking my lucky stars I had my human kids a long time ago when I was more able to deal with a lack of sleep. Lack of sleep makes for a grumpy Ptolomy But gees I could sit watching babies full time - what a great job. I am also wondering how many of the little characteristics I am already noticing will still be there in 2 years time. eg the food hog, the noisy one, the quiet contented one, the one that continually gets stuck under the puppy rails and can't work out how to get back to mum, the one that is the quickest across the whelping box to get to mum.......
-
Glad it all turned out with a happy ending and I hope the babies continue to thrive. I am happy I only have 3 to deal with - Mum is a first time mum and is very reluctant to leave her babies and when she does she comes in and counts them, gathers them in and tries to lay on them. That then causes them to squeal so she becomes frantic and she digs up the vetbed causing the babies to go flying. This morning I transferred the babies to the washing basket so that I could change the bedding and next thing mum is in the basket with the babies. When the pups were put back into the box mum got back into the basket and kept digging up all the bedding looking for them. She is getting better thank goodness, but it has been a tough couple of days. I am thankful I had my human kids a long long time ago as I don't do lack of sleep very well - makes for one very grumpy Ptolomy :)

So how many did she have Mystiqview? I hope mum and babies are OK - and why the need for the c-section? Gees I thought my guys were little, but Ebony takes the cake. Good luck and I hope you get more sleep than I have been!
