Santa has arrived early and we now have internet access at home About to leave work and head home, present wrapping still to do, but otherwise I hear the cider calling Happy Xmas everybody :D
-
Costs for importing my 12 week old boy from Norway in July were $6500. Friend is bringing in a 12 week old girl from Sweden in January and she is already over $7000 - both figures include the quarantine costs and neither of us were charged for boarding the pup before importing.

Once Cider gets 44 more points she will be out of there - which may make it a wee bit easier. Looks like I will have to get in early otherwise you will be waaaayyyyy to busy. I have started agility with Cider ;) but she has no power steering and no cruise control - do you think Santa might bring me some?

Oh you are so rude - anybody would think I had the eyes of a 45 year old I had a jolly good day thank you - went out for dinner and got my usual garlic hangover so I woke up this morning feeling like I had drunk a gallon of cheap red wine - OH joy NOT Now I can move on and start planning for Xmas ;) Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes

Lara at the tender age of 14 and with her new handler, Hannah, gave Rally a go on Friday night. Her tail never stopped wagging (Lara's not Hannah's) and she thought that she was the bees knees being out there. Thanks Hannah for looking after the old girl and it was even better me being able to watch it back on video

Hmmm after years of saying my little man isn't the sharpest tool in the shed or nope he is really dumb - I now want to take it all back and my new thoughts are - I am one very lucky girl to have a dog who picks things up so quickly. After starting UDX training on the 3rd November, after returning from Brisbane - he did me proud being thrown in at the deep end on Friday night and entering his first UDX trial. It was a stupid thing to do - still rewarding each exercise multiple times in training he was no where near being ready - but as we progressed through each of the exercises he got more and more excited, showing that he knew what I wanted. At the end of his time in the ring he came out a very happy boy, and me, I was tickled pink, his only mistake a missed down in change of positions (something I haven't done much work on going from a sit to a down). So we have a list of things to work on over the summer break, but before that the kids will all have a few weeks off to recharge the batteries and me - well I am a lucky girl having such a clever boy to work with - thanks Scoota.

BUgger The joys of having an entire girl I have booked an interstate holiday for Soggy - whats the bet she comes in a few days before we fly out

and why can't you????

Rubystar in WA the classes are split by when the dogs are born - January for the dogs born in the first half of the year and July for those born in the second half and like Xena98 said - the judges still end up with an uneven split. You will notice tonights trial has been split but most nowdays aren't due to the lower numbers.
-
I am in favour of this too Rubystar
-
Hey Xena98 - haven't had this issue YET - it must be one of the things I have to look forward to since Bedazzled and I seem to be hitting the same hurdles with each exercise - just at different times. My only comment and something Bedazzled and I were taking about on Wednesday is that our boys need to do something UDX wise every day - if we miss 2 days and revisit the exercise its like they have no idea. Think this is a boy thing though. So for now Scoota is doing more training than he has in the last 5 years and his waistline or lack of is proof

Ish - from my point of view I consider myself a very experienced handler - however - my dog is very very inexperienced and for that reason it shouldn't be penalised by not being allowed to enter CCD. I always seem to have issues with SFE and I would much rather work through this at a CCD level than entering them in novice. My last dog didn't actually get her CCD title - I entered her in three trials and she failed the last one. I had already entered her in novice for the next trial so we never got our third leg. Now if people ask me which level they should enter at - novice or CCD - I always say CCD - do at least one trial at this level - allows you to iron out any problems and to make it a pleasant experience while the dog is on lead. Interesting we have had discussions on a WA list about the standard of CCD now being so low and some people wanting to make it even easier to try and encourage people to go from club level to trialling level. This I don't agree with.

Rubystar - I got my last lot done at Ranford Vets - just up from Vetwest - $64 for parvo + distemper. I did say that I didn;t need a vet appointment as I had been doing titres for years - so it was a case of the vet nurse pulling the blood and sending it off for testing and two days later I got the results emailed to me. Hey Xolo - it wasn't me you saw - it was Zoe - she has a tollers numberplate and a bigger tonka van than I have. Valley - that is just the bestest news about Toby - you could see him coming out of his shell the day Lincoln left and I am so glad he is a happy camper. Thanks for the birthday wishes, Lara had a lovely day doing what oldies do best - sleeping and eating

Thanks girls - I have been using a signal and a voice command to call Moo from the box and somebody who has their UDX title commented last night that I could only use one not both . I vaguely remembered using both with Lara when she trialled in UDX many years ago. Had visions of having to retrain the exercise Funny thing is he usually doesn't wait for either the voice or the signal he just comes running the minute I turn my back - bless him

I am unable to open the obedience rules on the ANKC website. Can somebody tell me in UDX in the sendaway when calling your dog to heel can you use a verbal + a signal please.......
-
Woohoo go Mason!!! I want my girls to do modelling work, that way they can pay their own way for some things We will see what happens, they will only use him if something comes up for a black lab, if they ever need some yellow/choc labs I will tell them about Ruby and Millie too ;) and if they need a red lab - you can give them my kids details ;)
-
Golly gosh Amypie have you been in the house for two years already???? You need to have a grass laying party in the new year - everybody needs to bring 1 roll of turf to gain entry and you will provide the sausage sizzle Emery I have my fingers and toes crossed and the bubbly on ice - maybe you need to drop the hint that its not a good idea to upset a pregnant lady ;)

I will be in touch and will organise some training dates in January, while K9 is closed, for our Monday night mob Might even be able to do a wee little bit of agility
