  1. She can still jump on the bed - but there is no way I would ask her to jump for any obedience competition. Her back end is a little frail - which is helped by having bowen every 6 weeks. But there is no doubt she could do an open or UD round tomorrow if I asked her too, although not with the same precision as she used to have, but for the time being she thinks she is a super star just doing the occassional exercise at training and being rewarded for getting it nearly right and she loves playing Rally with Rally Valley.
  2. Clinking the champaign glass to getting through all the UDX exercises last night at training without it going pearshaped. Its the first time Now watch it all fall in a heap tonight
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LARA - 14 years young today Hard to believe that it was 14 years ago that i walked into a pet shop, paid $50 and came out with what was to be my first obedience champion. Lara has taught me so much - she is smarter than I am, she still rules the roost at home, she has been here in a past life (as an obedience judge we often joke) and she is still going strong. Clinking the champaign glass and hoping to celebrate a few more years with you Lars Happy Birthday old girl........
  4. Its a pity that I can't subdivide - about the best I could offer is for me to build a kennel and to lease it out to you on a permanent basis Kennel 10 can be called Rubystar's Home
  5. and your excuse for not coming training last night was.......
  6. JulesP usually a dog goes wide because you are stepping into her - get somebody to video you from behind to see what is happening.
  7. I have a few Cool Champion Cool Coats and I love them. Recently I also purchased a Shammy coat which I was also quite impressed with. Its much cheaper than the Cool Champion ones. http://www.stylishk9.com/store/index.php?_...at&catId=13
  8. and after my last lesson with the guru - I am not to use a clicker any more as it makes my high drive dogs WAY OVER THE TOP . So have gone back to using "yes" as a marker word.
  9. Well Done JulesP and Poppy a great way to finish the year
  10. Good luck I will be popping in on Monday to read all the gorey details
  11. OMG she has a sparkley top already - DARE YOU TO WEAR IT TO TRAINING TONIGHT :D
  12. LOL so the sparkley shoes and top I have bought you for Xmas will get some use after all Just wish I could watch the clip
  13. Woo Hoo well done sounds like you need to bring cake to Monday training next week - what does everybody else think
  14. We both use a leather for UD seekback and we wanted to stay clear of using the same article. To us metal really does indicate scent discrimination and this is how we wanted to train the exercise. I used wood for Lara and although it began OK after a couple of trials she started bringing back the decoy and to her it was a case of going out and bringing back the first thing she found.
  15. What are you using for seekback with a decoy - Bedazzled and I are both using metal and we are teaching it as a long distance scent discimination exercise. For the multi retrieve yep very hard sending a dog out to nothing they have no idea what you are giving direction to. Did you ever use food bowls to teach gloves?? I am using food for the blind retrieve - amazing how straight they can run when they can't see but can smell what you are sending them for!!
  16. Xena98 I feel your pain I had somebody call me a bit of a round on Saturday night and the only thing he did wrong was coming before being called in the sendaway - not something I have worked on much - which means training tonight is going to be very pearshaped where it will be like he has never done any of the exercises in his entire life - bless him We are still in the reward everything phase and he still has his training wheels on ( I am using training aids - a small piece of hoop in the middle of the cones and a mat for his change of positions). What is so frustrating is that just when you think they are getting it - it slaps you in the face and you go back to square one. May I prescribe a bottle of red wine for your pain
  17. Hey well done Tassie and Rory and yep no stopping you next year now. I promise not to post any of Soggy's recent effort where she does head high leaps trying to get the jackpot container out of my hands before I get the lid off.
  18. Well, I'm not but maybe I could come down on the weekend and pick up my iSqueaks? WOuld that suit? Its an agility trial on Saturday night and yep more than happy to meet you at K9 with your order. I am not sure what time it starts but I guess I will be there around 6ish?? Tiggy happy to hold onto yours until the 7th, unless you want me to give it to one of the others who live closer to you. Amypie - yee har you will be able to put sides on your gazebo Red dogs at the Rally Demo - I would like to see that . Yep I have pimped all my kids out for the night, oops all except Strauss, hmm maybe I might have to do a discount rate on him
  19. Yes but not with this little ball of frustration and now I know why!!!!! We are having a few days off where hopefully latent learning will magically appear and when I try again on Saturday all problems will have magically disappeared. Bedazzled is going to read this when she comes home and laugh
  20. UDX training sucks - it ALL went pearshaped last night. I am off to Dick Smith at lunch time to buy a radio. Hopefully having this on while we do change of positions will work towards curing the automatical change of positions I get when the judge tells me the next position needed. Fingers crossed
  21. Clean Run Box number 2 has arrived apparently Mum says its just as big but much lighter Anybody trialling at K9 on the weekend - let me know and I will bring your stuff with me.
  22. The Clean Run box has arrived - BUT it's not all there - there are things missing ;) So I am hoping that this is Box 1 of 2. I will let you all know on Monday morning so if you want to come to K9 you can. No point coming if you are going to have to make 2 trips. But so you can all sleep over the weekend - the i-squeaks are in the box that has arrived
  23. BIg HUgs - I know what you have been going through and Monday is going to be very very tough xx
  24. Anybody interested in doing some paid kennel work in Canning Vale. Must be prepared to work some weekends. PM if you want more information.
