  1. Basically interupting the sniffing or the inattentive behaviour they are doing.
  2. Great news...... Can you walk around the back of her - thats what is bringing us unstuck at the moment :p
  3. I had my first real obedience training session tonight since I returned from Sydney/Brisbane and my clicker timing sucked :D Scoota is no longer glued in the box and will now happily leave it when I tell him which jump to take and stays - yep had 4 dogs including Cider in a sit stay while I walked over to the car and got some treats out and nobody moved :D it doesn't mean much for the older ones, but that was a big effort from Ciderbear
  4. If one of my kids lost focus (more like the baby than the older kids) the moment it happened I would get into their face and ask them what do you think you are doing ........I usually find they switch back in real quick :D
  5. Good work Huski - I think YOU have improved a truck load since I met you What does Steve recommend you do if you are heeling and the dog loses focus?
  6. 5 weeks ago Beans something unidentified - it was small and I am assuming it was a lamb or beef liver treat (she is highly allergic to both) Within 24 hours she had chewed big holes in her chest inner thigh and foot and she was a mess. On the weekend somebody gave Beans a 20 cent piece of dried beef and before I could do anything it was gone. We rang the Dermatology Department that look after her and they advised to double her morning antihistamine and to give her the same dose at night - so 4 tablets instead of 1 for the next couple of days and to bath her putting QV oil in the water if she chewed holes in herself and I had a script for the sores if needed. So 24 hours, 48 hours, 5 days have gone by with no reaction at all and yes I know we can have a reaction up to 10 days post ingestion, but I am amazed. Other than upping the antihistamine the one difference to her previous meltdown has been the introduction on the Evening Primrose Oil
  7. Hey Vally CBR - thanks for posting the photos - that one of Kyzar is priceless - blurry or not
  8. Woo Hoo to Amypie and Kyzar who finished 3rd in novice jumping at the National Agility Trial and to Lexi and Helen who finished 2nd in excellent jumping what a great result
  9. This run was the highlight of my day It's boring to see dogs go clear all the time, you guys really put on the entertainment :D Just praying that nobody got it on video Rivsky has just announced that she did - hmm - I wonder what its going to cost Caffy and I for it not to be put on Youtube.
  10. Woo HOO Terranik and Jedi - what a great score too and congratulations to Smisch and Denver - you must be so pleased with your new little man :D
  11. No mention of the extinction burst Bedazzled???? HUGE congratulations to Amypie for a 1st place + title in novice jumping - she got a standing ovation from her cheer squad :D One bar Freddie redeemed himself today with a clear round in masters jumping - but then teamed with the incredibly consistent Mr Alex in what can only described as a bloody disaster in masters strat pairs It had Caffy and I squirming and the judging laughing loudly as she once owned a toller and could relate to everything we were feeling Caffy - let me know if you ever want me as a pairs partner again - I promise to do better next time ;) Thankfully team toller of Jaffa and Beans surprised us all by going clear and in time in masters strat pairs for their first and probably their only pass ever Finals day tomorrow - best of luck to everybody.
  12. Xena98 you put in a couple of great runs with your girls in the teams event today - Well Done
  13. Lexi won excellent jumping today so she now has 8 JDX passes 2 more and I can apply for my JDX2 title She also went clear in a rather tricky masters agility course - but was just over time. Beans - my little velcro dog who has no skills at all - managed 6 jumps in a 7 jump distance challenge today in open agility - just knocking the back bar of the spread on jump # 7 - boy did she get a huge jackpot for this one Scoota has been renamed one bar freddie
  14. Rivsky has just gone to bed - so I am going to brag on her behalf ;) Riv was a star coming 2nd in excellent agility and he also finished 6th in excellent gamblers He was a star and won a truck load of prizes - Rivsky is definitely going back with excess luggage Sexy Lexi finished 2nd in excellent jumping and also made the final on Sunday Beans qualified in Open agility and finished 6th - this was a hugh surprise ;)
  15. I plan on doing another bulk order in a couple of months - probably around September.
  16. Thanks Valley CBR - have to say a special thanks to Caffy for taking the photo. In fact the magazine should have been renamed the Caffy News since she gets so many mentions ;)
  17. Very happy with it - unfortunately, Deb and I have bought all the extra ones they printed
  18. I am tapping you on the shoulder to let you know that you should have bought 2 clickers because you are bound to lose the frist one ;) Psst - to help you with your timing - if you live with somebody - in your mind set them a challenge - so walk from the kitchen down the hall to the bedroom and turn on the light. Explain to the person that its a game of hot and cold so when they are getting hotter or closer to the final challenge you will click and give them a treat - so $1 coin, a chocolate - I used peanuts and see how long it takes them to work out what you wanted. Its a great way to see from the dogs perspective how we can really confuse them with our timing the only difference is that a person can really voice what they are thinking. You can even start the game by clicker and treating for eye contact....... Good luck
  19. Looking at this thread with interest - certainly not a cheap exercise. So while here, Can anybody recommend an agent in Norway please?
  20. BRIBE - what Bribe???? - I know nothing about a blue plastic drum.........
  21. Rubystar - I am telling you now my number for Saturday morning is 1178 my time is 34 seconds and he did go clear - got it
  22. Ciderbear hasn't quite got the timing of the tail wags right - Scoota's are in timing with his steps, Ciderbears are still a bit all over the place Thanks for all your nice comments.
  23. The look says it all - you woke me up - now wheres my breakfast Happy Birthday Banjo
  24. Gees considering all the SFE issues you have been having you should be really pleased with this - well done Now to work on the heeling
  25. The work in progress is coming along nicely - Cider turned 10 months old yesterday . I was unsure about her left about turns - but I was able to hand her over to Caffy to watch what was happening - . I am also not used to having a lead on her and the agility going on around her didn't bother her in the least.
