Sorry, not heard of coonhound paralysis, do you mean FCE - FibrocartilaginousEmbolism ? Treatment for FCE is usually steroidal and the sooner upon discovery of the paralysis the better the chances. fifi

RSG, I think it must be murphy's law, like deciding to hang the washing out and it rains ! you organise the vet and its a trigger for labour / pups !!! fifi
-
Looks like a cuscous or brush tailed possum to me too. fifi

Sometimes that car ride to the vets is enough to jiggle things along !!! how many breeders have had a pup delivered in the car !!!! fifi

This is so interesting :-) Are there any findings linking lowered prog levels with the bitch becoming inappetant ? Just heard a few times of the two seeming to go together. fifi
-
No, didn't want to worry you, just wanted to be the voice of caution if things don't progress if you have any concerns, a quick trip and examination by a trusted vet will let you know things are going normally. fifi
-
Well done to everyone involved. This poor family sound like they could use the support. will donate next week on payday. (hate fortnightly pays) fifi

Missymoo, I'm one for waiting too. BUT...sometimes a bitch will actually be further along than we think and have a pup malpresenting ect. twice I've taken a bitch I"m whelpsitting in to the vet at this point and found both times they needed a ceasar straight away. They weren't in distress, just seemed to be having a very prolonged first stage. Might be worth a quick check by the vet if no progress is made. fifi

:o Well done Espinay, great result, and what a great entry, would have been stunning to see so many together. Lovely to see the judge being consistent through the winners. I miss seeing the Pyrenean's up here. fifi

Just saw this too Lyndsay, huge hugs from us, how heartbreaking for you & your mum. Hopefully Holly will have a lovely litter to help heal your heart. fifi

Great news :-) and the more he feeds, the more of those wonderful lactating hormones will come down to relax her :-) wishing you some sleep over the next couple of weeks !!! fifi -
The people that have them now aren't able to continue looking after them ? I hope our home is ready so you don't have to lose your dogs. fifi

Andrea, a pup from a good breeder on the LR may be as good a specimen as a show puppy, the breeder may just not have a suitable show home for it. Some breeders will put only the 'keeper' pup(s) on the MR and all others on the LR to try & ensure their lines do not end up in the wrong hands. sometimes a LR pup may simply be mismarked for the showring. IE; too much white on a breed with specific marking in the standard. A pup on the LR should be in every respect a healthy pup from parents who have been health tested for the breed's known issues. fifi
