16/52 An action series taken today. The expressions on Zeph's face are brilliant, but Dee's face in the last one is priceless

CC I love the sunset This was taken a while ago using my Samsung phone.

A huge Happy 6th Birthday Stan. May the fridge and cupboard be full of treats with your name on them.

I am so absolutely furious for you, Stan and Maddie. It should never have happened. All of us should be able to take our dogs for a walk in peace and safety. However, I am even more in love with Stan after his tanty. Lots of positive, healing vibes coming to all three of you.

That is a brilliant photo. He is absolutely gorgeous

OMG Stan cracks me up. He is such a clown without even trying. Some of my mental images of his antics are hilarious. Could somebody please send a chiropractor to trinabean. OMG poor Bruno.
-
OMG Maddie is gorgeous and how cute is your little froggie legs TS. Zeph is the rubber dog here. Always on his back and always in a hockey stick position. I do not know how he continues to breathe

A Good Breed For Someone With Anxiety?

The pics of Rotties making themselves comfortable are my all-time favourites on DOL. :) They do make great furnishings and certainly bring a warmth and homeliness to any room :D -

T can I swap you for just two weeks. Please. Pretty please. I want a holiday. :D Mine will be couch potatoes for a while after a walk or doing some obedience work or nursing home visit. But as soon as you are up so are they, ready for more action. Oh and Zeph keeps you on the couch by laying on you while you watch TV. Dee will sleep in her crate, until there is an opening on the couch. I think mine are broken. :) I don't have any Rotties right now... closest I have is a half Rotti who is 14.5 years old... she's nice and slow nowadays... lol! All of my previous pure Rotties were seriously pretty easy dogs to own - basic obedience and an occasional walk now and then - but they were most happy adorning all of my furniture, the lazy bums! I actually had one male who would develop this horrible limp the minute you put a collar and lead on him - he hated going for any exercise that much... *sigh* T. They most certainly are clever and know how to train their owners. What a con artist your boy was They do love human furniture and know how to make themselves at home  -

A Rottweiler needs at least 18 months obedience training, especially around the teenage/adolescent period. Ideally, they should be doing obedience or some form of sport/work for most of their lives. They are a working breed that loves to keep stimulated. An unstimulated Rottweiler is a nightmare and can be quiet destructive and badly behaved. -
We have two crates here for Dee and Zeph. They are next to each other with the ends touching, and the long side doors left open. Dee has the larger one and Zeph the smaller one. The way we taught this was to entice each dog into their respective crate with food and they ate it in there. Now whenever they get a treat each will rush to their respective crate to receive their treat. It does not take long for them to learn which crate is theirs.

Stunning. Such a beautiful shot.

Ah ha just as I thought. Proof that poor Stan is not a couch potato. He just needs the right motivation

8/52 Dee and Zeph playing catch at KCC Park after they had a swim in the dam. I love the shadow print dotdashdot. Very creative

I am so very sorry to read of Bella's passing. What a wonderful way to spend her last day and a very loving photo of Bella and your husband. May the pain of her loss ease quickly for you and may you enjoy all those wonderful memories of the times that you had together.
-
Oh Kirislin I am so very sorry to read of the passing of Kibah I love the idea of the fruit tree as a tribute to her. I have a yellow banksia rose as Baylee's tribute. It is a cutting from the rose that she always sat under for 10 years, and the rose that survived Black Saturday even though it was burnt. Huge hugs to you. May you only remember all the good times.
-
Oh Kirislin I am so sorry to hear of Kibah's injury. I really hope that she is comfortable and that you are both pleasantly surprised with her recovery. If not enjoy your time together and make some beautiful memories.

7/52 I am cheating and using a photo from last week because this week I have been caught up with the fires. This is Dee and Zeph chasing their solid ball around the backyard. I need to change the shutter settings so that I get a clear totally focused shot of both dogs, like a snap shot of the action. It is a work in progress.
-
6/52 This is an action photo of Zeph trying to catch the water stream from the impact sprinkler in the backyard on a hot afternoon after work. I need to work out how to focus on him through the water to get a clearer shot.

Dogs Who Visit Hospitals And Nursing Homes
grumpette replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
that's great Dougal....hope you and Chelsea are really enjoying your visits.....yes the assessment is a major thing and does really get the dogs used to what they will come across when visiting.....if you go to a disability centre there is also very loud noises that the dogs come across but they do get used to the noises although Dezzy wasn't phased by them at all :) dezzyno.1 Nominated for Excellence in Service and or Leadership in Canine Affairs for the work she does in this area ! Well done! Alright. That is brilliant news. Congratulations
