Probably no help here but have you attempted to put the bottom bit of the pole on to the bottom hook thing before attatching all the little black hooks along the legnth of the poles. This will give you the chance to bend the poles up enough to attatch at the bottom.....hopefully.... then attatch all the little black hooks. Did the BCF store have them on display as maybe you could pop in and get a demo or even just call them and get them to explain over the phone?

I personally don't think you are. There is plenty of other well needed farming equipment they could put up as prizes. It doesn't sit well with me, either. Infact I think it is very wrong.

It will stay lit there until Jed goes home. Whilst I've never met her, she's a big part of why I enjoy this place so much and I'm devastated by what's happened to her. If anyone ever wanted to know how much she would do for her beloved dogs, she's answered that question in a way that I hope none of us ever have to emulate. I will send a card today. There will tough times ahead and I will do whatever I can for Jed. Lets hope for good news for she and Magnus. Poodlefan that is beautiful. I am sure many others would like to do this as well and join in to keep the light shining for Jed. Would you like me to change the title of the thread and invite others to join the vigil? If you'd like to WG. I'm sure most of us are trying to support Jed in ways both symbolic and practical. If Jed's family find any comfort or support here, then so much the better.

I am so sorry for your loss, Kelly Louise. He sounds like such a gentleman and beautiful friend. Gallop as free as the wind.

An extinction burst could possibly explain worsening behaviour. Previously successful behaviours are now not resulting in a pay off so your dog has possibly upped the ante. An example is a child that is used to getting what he/she wants from nagging. The parent consistenly relents. The parent realises this has become a negative pattern of behavior with the child so decides not to relent in future. Initially when the child isnt getting what they want the nagging turns in to full blown tantrums. This makes it very tempting for the parent to give in (especially if in a crowded supermarket ) but if the parent gives in at that stage the only lesson the child has learned is that when all else fails having a tantrum results in them getting what they want..... But if you ride out the esculation in negative behaviour and remain consistent and not give in the child learns that having a tantrum results in no pay off so the tantrums and nagging receed (theoretically ). Sorry probably not a very good example.

I have seen this topic so many times on the first page but havn't come in here because I thought it would contain all the usual advise you get in these topics. So glad I decided to have a peek in here. Anyway, I'm definitely going to order some but like others a bit unsure of which scent to go for. Normally with smelly stuff I don't really like musk scents but like fresh scents such as citrus, apple or peppermint but I am thinking this talc one sounds like the go. Does it smell very powdery if you know what I mean? Does anyone wish they had ordered a different scent? If so, which one DID you order? :D Thanks for the rec, VJB.

That's a bit over the top don't you think? I rarely take my dog to off leash parks and he rarely ventures into the backyard. I do, though, take him for a 2-3km walk/jog every day. If I want to let him have a big run, I take him up to the local school and let him have a play on the oval. IMO, leash walking for exercise provides for a more stable mind. You can't really go wrong with a good long daily on lead walk - its good for you, its good for the dog and it enforces the pack mentality and leadership. I totally agree, Stormie. OT but Orbit is so beautiful and one of my DOL faves.

I think ACA are doing a story on it this week. I agree dogmad. The Lost Dogs Home have a lot to answer for across the board. Very sad for the family involved.

That is just not fair. Even though it should be a given anyway you would think after the last incident your neighbours would have had enough sense to contain their cat. And to top it off you have people giving you the accusing eye. So wrong. It is not your fault that these people chose not to take responsibility for their cat. Very sorry you have been placed in this sad situation. Hope you and Duke are ok. Yet another animal pays the ultimate price because of irresponsible owners. RIP little moggy.

I am quite surprised how many people with multiple dogs live in the inner burbs. I suppose there are lots of parks and facilities. How do you manage? I also noticed that rural and semi rural dwellers are more likely to have more than one dog which is probably what most people would assume. If this poll was in the general population there would probably be a lot more people in one dog households but we sure have a lot of mutiple dog households on here. I love dol. Thanks for doing the poll.

I have never done a poll before so this could end up a mess. I live in a 3 dog household in a rural area and I am curious about the demographics of single and multiple dog households. Thanks Valley. N/A now added.

Personally, I don't think you can difinitively state that dogs do not feel some kind of feeling comparable to love. I am not anthropomorphising. Just not willing to rule it out due to the fact that we don't actually have the tools capable of measuring such a thing.
