  1. I imagine the microchip ones activate similar to the collar ones. Not something I'd risk with my indoor cat. He's too smart and would learn to bolt through with the dog pretty quick.
  2. I'm not sure it's possible, though if you find a solution I'd love to hear it!! I've been told cats are smart enough even with the collar activated ones, to just wait near by for the dog to go near or through the door, and then jut dart through right behind them.
  3. Reggie is always milking other people for treats will offer heel positions for them too! Thanks for the advice TSD definitely makes sense. I'll keep asking for that nose target :)
  4. Sheena do you start that trick with luring? I've seen it in lots of DWD videos it looks great! That's interesting wobbly, is that something you can do in the ring? Are you allowed to touch your dog? (Obedience newbie) or is it something you fade out? Reggie is learning her contacts this week. We had a breakthrough last night and she is offering a lovely 2o2o position on the end of the plank. The only issue I'm having is weather I need to have her target the ground, for safety reasons perhaps? Currently she will 2o2o and look at me and if I just wait she will put her nose to the ground and then I've been marking/rewarding but I'm wondering if its necessary. Should I keep aiming for that nose target or is a head up 2o2o okay?

    Looks like fun! :)
  6. I've only been to one part of mt crawford forest so not sure if they are all similar, but if your kelpies are likely to take off after a stray sheep I don't recommend going off lead. I always take Reg on long line now.. In TTG area I think your best bet is linear park, perhaps you could do A circuit along the main foot path then back along the river. Still not sure if that would be quite as large As you'd like. If you find a place let me know!! :)
  7. I have one of these for my Aussie Shepherd. http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=1771&ParentCat=449 They are still on free shipping at clean run. I have a Medium for my girl. I love it, quick and easy to put on and take off ie. don't have to get them to step into it.
  8. Thanks guys! :) looks like ill stick to my lighter monitor and try to adjust my stronger one to be the same. MRB - thanks for the info! I have the same issue everyone thinks Reggie is a boy because of her name hehe. Poor girl is going to have a complex!
  9. Thanks guys! Too many times Piper! I've resorted to not correcting people unless they engage me directly about it because I feel rude and some people don't take it well Haha!
  10. Hey guys I took some shots of Reggie down at the park today. I have two screens on my PC and as I was editing the photos today (I'm no expert ) I noticed one screen is a slightly warmer or a bit more saturated than the other. I edit on the cooler/less saturated one which makes them look over done on the other screen. That's got me wondering which is correct or perhaps they are both wrong.. Do these look over saturated to you? Is there a way to set my monitors so they are correct?
  11. Thanks Jumabaar I think I will take her down to the vet to get it checked, better safe than sorry. And thanks for the recommendation Ness, unfortunately Dr Foreman is on holidays but the nurse recommended another of their vets for dentist work and I'm going to see them on Wednesday at the Burnside Clinic. I've forgotten the name she gave me though..
  12. Thanks Rebanne, I was surprised how well the shot turned out myself. Reggie was being a complete angel letting me hold her like that for ages while I took shots with my phone :)
  13. I noticed yesterday that reggie seems to have broken one of her front teeth. I'm kicking myself that I haven't been checking her teeth regularly, so I don't know when she's done this. It's quite close to the gum line but she doesn't seem to have any discomfort with it and appears to be eating normally. Do you think it warrants a vet visit?
  14. Happy birthday Reggie !!! You chose a good weekend for His birthday!! My Reggie's 1st birthday is tomorrow! :D
  15. I have a bergan harness which has been stress tested (not crash tested) but it certainly looks more safe for the dog than a lot of thoes out there.
  16. I just bought a collar like the one you posted for reggie, still waiting for it to arrive though. I'll let you know how it goes!
  17. I read of cases with two dogs, where one gets its bottom jaw stuck in the second dogs collar and twists. causing serious injury to the first dogs jaw and often cutting off the second dogs air supply and killing it Reggie is Naked at home.
  18. That last shot is beautiful!! I think it might be upside down though Hard to tell :)
  19. It was great fun to watch today, and nice to meet you Esky! Sorry I couldn't stick around for long. Next time!
  20. Is there a recomended age to start? Reggie only just hit 10months so I was planning on just watching.
  21. Thanks for posting Esky, I'm interested in having a look :)
