  1. Hey we have met up 2x since Eli was born! DOnt i count Of course you count ;) I just meant as a DOL group... meanwhile I'm missing out on seeing your furry baby boooooo! will have to be soon
  2. Thanks Amypie! I think the last time I met up with everyone from DOL I was a few months pregnant and now he's 8 months old Time flies!
  3. Thanks for the invite! The dinner sounds awesome but I might have to put myself down as just a maybe and see as it gets closer to the date. Now have baby to consider with babysitters and the like. Haven't been on the forums much lately due to baby keeping me busy but if we have any day dog meets I'd be keen to join as poor Sooty doesn't get out and about as much as she would like
  4. I'm the same as I worked east way and used to drop past A&D to pick up my meat but now I'm on maternity leave it's a bit far. Drovers market (cnr Wanneroo and Joondalup dve) have a few pet meat products. I get chicken carcasses from the Spud Shed at Wanneroo markets - although they didn't have any when we went there on Monday On the weekends at the Wanneroo markets there is a stand that sells pet meat but it's a bit pricier than A&D (sorry just realised I repeated what Candice said) and we get a bag of bones from our local IGA for $5 which are quite meaty but the bag is a bit on the small side. If you find any other places I would love to know too!
  5. In your case tommygirl it definitely sounds like a case of the owner being the one who should be disliked! I thought I could find a positive in all dogs until I met a maltese cross shih tzu who I really just couldn't stand. Not his fault but he was treated like a baby and he acted like a spoilt brat as well as urinating on everything and humping any leg that he was closest to. Really could find nothing cute or nice about this dog
  6. Also have a hybrid AB but she is a lot smaller than what you are predicting your pup will be. I have only had close contact with bitches rather than males but they have all been good natured and after they have had a walk are happy to be couch potatoes! :D
  7. Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a good NYE and any fireworks didn't frighten too many scared doggies.
  8. It was great fun, my dog is sooo NOT a tracking dog though lol :D Edited to add that has anyone else found out that A & D Pet Foods has now changed ownership?? Yep I went in last week and they had changed the counter around and they looked at me like this when I asked about turkey necks. Boooo! They tried to sell me chicken necks but they are just too small, hopefully I'll find somewhere else that stocks them. They seem to have the same brand of mince which Sooty likes so hopefully that doesn't change...or prices!
  9. How long do the items usually stay on the free shipping page?
  10. Well done Millie! I just discovered that the free shipping has more than just the first page Maybe it's a good time to get a cool coat hmmmm What size have other people got for their dogs? Gosh between buying cute things for baby and cute things for the dog I'm going to have no money! Bah internet shopping!
  11. Yep had a sprinkle this afternoon in Darlington. Was rather scary yesterday as my parent's house is just off Pechey Rd so they had to get home before their road was closed down, luckily it is just the dog and cat there this time. Not like previous times when we had to evacuate with the horse, dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens and ducks....although the chickens and ducks were just let out of their pens, didn't fancy duck poo in the car
  12. Growing up we had to go on bob-tail rescues as our dogs used to flick them around till they died which wasn't very good! They also can have lots of ticks on them and we didn't really want them in our garden. As I was driving to work this morning there was a dog trotting alongside the road with a dead bob-tail in its mouth I swear sometimes that Darlington has the most escapee dogs with badly fenced properties as they seem to be running across the road all the time.
  13. Oh yay! This meet will be nice and close to me. And if Sooty is being a grumpy bum again I can just take her home and come back without her haha
  14. I remember when my family got a new puppy I hadn't yet met so I raced home from netball expecting her to be in the laundry. Found her in the empty laundry basket (about a metre high) ;) Thought it was a rather weird place to keep a puppy but after asking my parents we came to the conclusion that she had pulled it over then walked into it and her weight caused it to become upright again and trapping her. Poor thing!
  15. I don't have anything to add to why it happens but I'm quite interested to find out as I have seen dogs react to my dog when she reverse sneezes. She does it really loud and it sounds horrible, she also stands in quite a wierd position when doing it so I don't know if that might be what the other dogs are unsure about. She's done it a few times now around other dogs and some react and some don't.
  16. Unfortunately can't solve the problem of the blood leaking we also just put in a bowl that has been designated the dog defrosting bowl. I try and recycle stuff so I don't have to throw out too much plastic so we use plastic bags if we ever get them from the shops, bags from bread, take-away containers and yoghurt containers. The yoghurt containers probably would hold the most, are the easiest to stack and they keep the blood in once defrosted.
  17. My sterilised female will also try and mark on our walks but I make sure she has had a chance to toilet properly then after that we don't stop! She knows if she tries to stop that I'm going to keep walking and she will have to too. I do have a command for her though ("sniff") that means she is allowed to stop and sniff what has taken her fancy.
  18. Yes!?! How did I miss this, I'm so sad
  19. You can park off Ocean Reef Rd to get to Perry's Paddock. I've been there twice since I've been on holidays and it's nice and quiet during the day and at this time of year I'm not so worried about snakes
  20. Aww this brought back memories of my old blue heeler girl. She used to do it with plants and tablecloths My current dog will do a few zoomies before she has a poo, I always think "where is she going" before I realise ahhh should have known! If we are walking off-lead and it starts raining it's like she tries to out-run the rain until she realises she is wet and then gives in and goes back to normal walking.
  21. If we are meeting at the 'regular' spot I was hoping to park a bit closer this time where a few others have parked before - rather than at the toilet block/official carpark. Anyone know the name of the road?
  22. I walk Sooty on week days before I go to work so a little drizzle is ok but not if it is pouring but on weekends I walk her in the rain as I don't have to worry about looking like a drowned rat If it starts raining on our walk she will bolt as if to try and out-run the rain then settles into the idea of being wet, she really likes being towel-dried so there is always something nice once we get home. So far this winter I have only missed three mornings though so I think we are doing pretty good!
  23. Hope Buddy comes through his surgery fine. We had two female dogs that would sometimes turn on each other and it's so hard not to get panicked when you're worried about your dogs being hurt - especially by each other.
  24. Thought I'd try some roo bones when I went there during the week and thought I'd go large... they are massive!
  25. I am currently using the adult lamb and rice formula and I'm happy with how my dog is doing on it. I started her off on EPH puppy then after 18mths went to Advance then thought I'd give Nutro a go. I haven't seen any difference in her coat, weight (although she now just needs to maintain, if not take of a tiny bit ) and stools so I might as well stick with Nutro as it is cheaper than EPH.
