If you had seen them each morning covered head to toe in their own faeces that they had ran through all night you would know what I meant  That is a smell you would never forget and they managed to get it on the ceiling too! When they had their tails docked their bums used to wiggle from side to side, I used to describe them as guinea pigs cross wart hogs. I was particularly attached to one little poo painter called Rajah, I believe their breeder used to have german spitz also -

R&B we trained some skips as hearing dogs and after seeing them picasso the ceiling of the kennels every morning I couldn't own one  I think they are awesome little dogs though but can't get those sights and smells out of my head Huga between Ben's snoring and his laughing hysterically in his sleep I think it wouldn't bother me -

Sorry I should have had beagles and ckcs's on my not list, I just can't take to them. Thanks for the suggestions so far, I really like whippets so may have to investigate that further. The only other animal they will have access to unsupervised is a cat otherwise if they were out of the backyard they could be leashed. We had two bostons here for several months two years ago and my oldest boy was smitten with one in particular they were like shadows and he always had a toy in his mouth. The snoring was loud though  My partner liked the bossies as well, that is what we called them as they were always in your face. Frenchies are definately high on the list too, Huga do they snore? My youngest has the strongest connection that I have ever seen in a child with animals from everything from the cat to the large animals. Ben is very active outside and due to his constantly playing I discouraged it around Jake but at the new house the yard and play area is huge. Luke will still only be 2 1/2 so anything really small won't be suitable. The dog will either have someone home all day or could come to work with me This is Luke on the weekend feeding the stallion, donkey and sheep with his mate Sally Mita my colts breeder also shows iggies and tibbies and they have some lovely dogs which is what made me attracted to them -
I am starting to research breeds as our next indoor breed after losing my pom cross Shannon in September, I will not be ready for a pup or adult for about 12 months but that will give me adequate time to research breeders and get put on waiting lists. I am very good at being patient waiting for the right breeder to have the right puppy. Important facts – Inside dog – small breed We live on a property but dog will have access to the house and a ½ acre snake proof meshed yard, this area will not have the LGD’s in it We have 2 boys – currently 9 & 16 months, 2 girls – currently 17 & 15 that stay part time We have a vast variety of animals large and small from camels to possums We will have CAO’s also so must be a sociable breed with low prey drive Considerations – My 9 year old is very outdoorsy and is animal obsessed so I would like a breed that is happy to sleep in his room but also happy to go outside with him, play in/around the dam etc etc I have 20 years grooming experience so coat type is not that important but in all honesty long coated breeds may be clipped off if required Breeds I would not consider – Poodle, cocker spaniel, Labrador (I know this is a large breed), schnauzer, JRT or most terrier breeds Breeds I would like – Pekingese, Japanese chin, Tibetan spaniel Breeds my son likes – Boston terrier, French bulldog My main experience with owning breeds are Great Dane, Bullmastiff, bloodhound, GSD, keeshond, CAO and my little Shannon pom x pap x chi. Are there any breeds that I may be missing out on as I admit I have always been a big dog person. This will be a long process for me as I want to really research the breed before I commit

Shannon was amazing with 2 children one who is now 9 and the other 16 months She was a sloth and didn't bark hardly ever I lost her in September at 12 years of age and a more placid, animal loving, tolerant dog I have ever known but they are all individual and we puts heaps of work into her from Day 1

Unfortunately you can start a thread about sunshine and lollipops and you will get people that love them but also those warning about the dangers of UV and tooth decay. I wouldn't assume the posters do not have personal experience, some may not but they are showing concern for the op's dog. You just have to read the topic about the grey being attacked to see the potential problems and that is with any breed as I said I think it is awesome the OP is socialising her beautiful puppy but people have given their views too. It is great to see positive encounters but it is also important that the general public and non members of this forum can see that there are those in the dog community who are responsible about any type of breed and behaviour. This is obviously a breed close to your heart, it wouldn't matter what breeds were discussed to me for all we know they were bull breed crosses not APBT's anyway, as there isn't a huge amount of true pitties around I wouldn't think.

This is a PUBLIC forum, where discussion is encouraged, where education is encouraged if you do not feel as if you need to participate in a discussion or be educated then you do not have to either continue to participate or read the thread. I for one enjoy reading experienced posters advice/recommendations etc to not only see if I agree with it but to also possibly learn too. each member has their own individual right to comments as long as it is in the forum guidelines. I think Bella is a cute puppy who is being well socialised by her owner which is awesome but I have also been interested in other posters opinions.

A true breed lover embraces their chosen breeds qualities and recognises their faults and/or behavioural breed traits. To believe a breed is without any negative traits is to me irresponsible and complacent and this is aimed at all breeds not just the apbt or ckcs.

I like others I truly hope your dog is ok, but if this wasn't a leashed area I don't know how you will go. That image of her being hurt would have been awful. You have stated that she has run off before but just runs in a circle I hope in future that she stays leashed if it is in fact not a leash free area. This is one of the reasons I was always so hesitant to take my big dogs in public, being rushed at by other dogs that are not under control. Good luck let us know how you go

After seeing this on FB I will never eat nuggets again

Check the quality of a lot of cheaper online ones as many do not stand up to the weight especially for a lab. The Solvit telescoping is a good one but more exy than many online ones

Oh yes we miss out on lots of really good seminars

Only once I've battened down the hatches   Be brave Pity it isn't in SA, I would find this very interesting for my older dog. Tobster it is available to shops at a few wholesalers in SA but I don't know who stocks it in their shop maybe ring around.

We have rescue kittens in on the weekend and if anyone is interested then the rescue org comes in and does the assessment and adoption but the person has to wait 24hrs after the assessment to think it over. I give any new owners a $20 store voucher and we look after the kittens at our expense but that is the only role we play in it

My CAO was held back for a couple of weeks at my request and I think being with his pack and around other animals was helpful in my situation
-
If you are refering to my comment it was not aimed at her mental health it was a general comment about someone who thinks it is appropriate to treat an animal like that and I think it should be considered animal cruelty

They may match her tin foil hat crazy loon!

Did you forget to finish your post, or has your grammar gotten even worse than it already was? Nuh. That's my new signature. signed; Yours Sincerely We :p Ah that actually makes sense For new enclosures we have 7ft deer fencing that will have heavy gauge chicken mesh on it with the rabbit proof mesh underneath and a similiar system to the oscillot railing on top. Basically a top wire with a tube that will just keep rolling so nothing can get a grip - these areas will be used primarilly for the kangaroos, wallabies, deer and emu but we are building one for the CAO's when they need to be enclosed. I am thinking of doing the rolling wire for the house yards also as Jake used to be able to climb/jump most fences if he got his mind to it

I think it is a good idea saves people wanting a pup that they can't have, then they are spending the time with the pups that are available -
Rescue Lumping Breederswith Byb And Pet Shops
casowner replied to Kavik's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh that's no problem, I keep the ordinary pups in the old run nearest the house so they're the ones the buyers see as soon as they enter the back gate and the show/breeding pups are in my new puppy complex hidden away at the end of the yard. If they happen to notice the pups I'm running on I just tell them that they're the best ones and aren't for sale and that all the pet quality pups are up near the house. Works well for me Now I am imagining puppies with the letter P clippered onto their forehead like A's were on adulters I thought limited and mains registrations also helped, I know that many limited pups are show quality but those that buy them are buying a pet rather than a show dog -
Nice constructive post SK, the op has made a decision and whether or not we believe it to be right at least some constructive help may decrease some issues. Definately keep those papers safe, you may very well need them in the future - copy them, scan them in your computer, have lots of copies etc etc. I would even staple a copy to his council rego application. Is your cousin a registered breeder (I may have missed it) or are they just the vet vaccination papers?

I like to believe that they always belonged to the bridge and that we were lucky enough to have them come visit us whilst we needed them to. While are hearts are broken, our lives have been enriched in so many ways My deepest sympathy goes out to you during this time.
