  1. Winter's ultrasound this morning showed 5 healthy little babies :)
  2. The comparisons are pretty over the top, but it is interesting and I can see why pedigree dogs cop a bashing. Personally, I really disagree with selective breeding for exaggerated, unnatural features. There are some breeds where I am yet to meet a single healthy individual (I am a vet nurse - so I see the good, the bad and the UGLY).
  3. These are fantastic - I hung one outside a few days ago and it's jam packed already.
  4. Three matings so far - 27/02, 28/02, 29/02. Have just booked her flight home for next week.
  5. We had a mating yesterday with a 20-minute tie :) So I guess that puts us right on the borderline of late April / early May
  6. I'm not talking about the odd bit of dog hair, I'm talking about really dirty houses that look like they haven't had a decent clean in months.
  7. It should always be given with a full meal and unless the dog vomits within the first hour, there is no need to re-dose.
  8. I grew up with two dogs as family pets but a strictly 'no dogs inside the house' policy. My mother was very house proud - not obsessively so, but she certainly would not have tolerated dog hair on the carpet or furniture! Now that I have my own home, I am slightly more relaxed. Having a companion breed, my dogs are allowed in the house but are generally restricted to the main living area (which is tiled). They do sleep indoors but are usually crated. I bath them at least weekly and vacuum often. Not trying to be rude, but it makes me cringe when I see people upload pics to DOL and FB of their dogs inside the house, and in the background you can see dirty floors and grubby walls, hair all over the place etc. ETA: I also have two Sibes who are strictly outdoor dogs, and they are quite happy with that arrangement.
  9. As much as I hate that Pedigree Dogs Exposed doco, the segment on Cavaliers with SM is what made me start to wonder about our boy and his odd behaviour.
  10. Ask the vet what their protocol is and why. Only certain vaccines are registered for tri-annual use. My previous clinic offered annual vaccines only due to being in a high-risk parvo area, my current clinic stocks both annual and tri-annual vaccines so clients have the choice.
  11. Mine came in on the 14th too :) We may just scrape in for April but I'd say more likely early May. Sorry if I confused, when I said 'we' I meant my girl and I :) She is off to the stud dog next week, fingers crossed...
  12. Mine came in on the 14th too :) We may just scrape in for April but I'd say more likely early May.
  13. I'm pretty sure that was not the owner restraining the dog in the video. ETA: Never mind, looks like it was the owner. Another story I read earlier had conflicting info.
  14. I think I paid somewhere around the $1,200 mark.
  15. I was told by my breeder that it's quite typical of this breed, they just aren't that clean. She doesn't use bitch pants on her girls, so it's not that they haven't learnt to be clean.
  16. I got mine from there as well and my girl is quite happy to wear hers, they fit well and she doesn't pay any attention to them at all. My bitch is not clean at all.
  17. Yes I did Sway but i took everyones advice on here and learned more about them and became a registered breeder ! I no longer have cocker spaniels by the way. I thought you were an experienced Registered Breeder of American Cockers when you were overseas I don't mean to be rude, but I'm getting more and more confused...
  18. Rubbish. He didn't give birth to the dog. The majority of dogs cope just fine being rehomed. +1
  19. Oh I am fully aware of that, but if you read through mumoftwo's previous posts there is no suggestion whatsoever that she has been "a registered breeder of another breed for years".
