  1. all four have amazing eye lashes and if I don't trim the they just grow and grow. I don't let them get any longer than Tully's are now. You would never think that cutting them off completely would make a difference. I found out the hard way one day when clipping my youngest he moved slightly while i was clipping around his face and bam his lashes got in the way and I cut them really short, so I had to do the other side shot too, he looked like a different dog. they don't take long to grow back! JC, is puppy home yet?
  2. Any news in here? Hoping to pop in and find all is well. Fingers crossed.
  3. Well it sure doesn't sound like he has had the opportunity to get into or consume anything he shouldn't have. From what you described it almost sounds like an allergic reaction to something or a bite of some sort. I can imagine you won't sleep a wink tonight. Hoping the vets get to the bottom of it quickly.
  4. Some little flowers in my back yard and some doggy bits, Its all about the lashes and the nose knows!
  5. Lovely little wasp, I had my macro out today and snapped off a few shots, I will pos them up!
  6. Oh crap thats awful, all fingers and paws crossed here. Have you taken him anywhere different today, has he picked up something he shouldn't have? Could something have been thrown in the yard? Praying he will be ok!!
  7. 100mm Macro, it's a pretty cool lens. I was just pursuing the camera online stores and the 5D mkiii has come down heaps in price, it's amazing!
  8. Did someone say lashes! Just a coincidence I took this today!!
  9. Much excitement! Look forward to photos!
  10. Love Jake striking a pose! I think your right about Tully although she is a little quiet this week as she had a tooth out on Monday. Typical Tully having a laugh on the side. Sad Tully. Sorry for going off topic!
  11. f/2.8, I really want a 2.8 :) If you can get the mk iii with f/2.8 for $5300 Aussie stock thats a bargain. Make sure it's Aussie stock as I know JB deal in Grey now.
  12. Gertrude, I can tell you now if you get that combo all Canon you WILL NOT be disappointed!! Sounds like a good price too. Is the 24-70 the f/2.8 or f/4? Corie thanks for the link and Butch looks adorable!
  13. The count down is on! What is a half tail? Obviously a half tail but what causes it? Is it a fault within the breed or acceptable standard? Gertrude, why not consider what I did I had the option of 5D mk iii body only or 6D and 24-70 f/4 as they were the same price round about. The 24-70 f/4 didn't arrive so they offered me the Sigma 24-70 f/2.8, I can't compare it with the canon as alive never used the canon version but the sigma is awesome, fabulous on the 6D. The low light capabilities on the 6D are amazing very comparable to the 5Dmkiii. Just thought I'd mention it, very worth considering. You would get all that under $4000 if you go the combo you mentioned above your looking at around $6000 unless you go grey it will be a lot cheaper. I went Aussie stock for mine, I was a bit wary going grey for such big ticket items, I'm sure it would have been fine but I'm a bit of a worrier! Another plus side is you could get some extra lenses. The 85mm is amazing, I had a good play with it today, it's awesome! If you have Facebook have a look at the few pics I put on HERE tonight, all taken with the 6D and 85mm.
  14. Thanks Alkhe. All is well tonight and she seems unaffected even after the reaction to the anaesthetic, maybe a little quieter than usual but its hard to tell as she is a quiet and calm dog mostly anyway. She had the Science diet recovery food for tea, it was basically slop in a can. but she was hungry and seemed to like it.
  15. Awww he is so cute, is he an Aussie?
  16. Yay new peeps! Look forward to photos! Clay does look huge in that photo, what a beautiful boy he is and his buddy is pretty cute too! Look forward to hearing how his show debut goes! Good luck!! Gertude139, ou have Cooper pegged! There is always one that bucks the system!! I took him for a photoshoot on his own the other night and he was the perfect model and I mean perfect, he posed, he did everything I wanted him to do. Hers a shot from the shoot, I used my new 85mm lens on my 6D its pretty awesome!
  17. Well we are home, They only had to remove one tooth so it wasn't initially as bad as they or I thought it was. Teeth are shiney and white and one of the little lumps was removed the others one they left as they wanted to wake her up. Apparently she had a reaction to the anaesthetic, the vet said after they put it in she started snorting and chocking but eventually went under. They said she was in no danger but they didn't want to leave her under to much longer just incase. They put it on her record so next time they will give her a different anaesthetic. She has only ever had one other one and that was when she was desexed. Anyway she is all good and sleeping soundly now. The food they gave me was 1 kilo of Science Diet dental formula and two tins of science diet recovery. No pain meds and no AB's not even an injection. I have had a look a the site where the tooth came out, it was right at the back but it looks like it was only a tiny little tooth.
  18. Your right Pers of course they will be expecting me to buy it from them, well no I won't be changing her diet, it took me ages to figure out a food they they all like and do well on. And I am sure they can't tell me it is her diet that causes the teeth to decay otherwise they would all have rotten teeth!! I have always been aware that their teeth need special attention in the form of bones etc and like I said in an earlier post my old boy Hank who was 16 when he went to the bridge had beautiful teeth all his life. A couple more pics of my precious girl. (any excuse for photos!) Doing what she loves best. The whole Gang, Tully front and centre. Pers this one is especially for you!
  19. Tha is Christina, I don't know why I'm getting into such a dither over it  She has really good teeth nice and white and clean, hardly any build up at all that's why we were so surprised when she had these rotten ones at the back. Will be interesting to see what they say when I pick her up!
  20. Well I just dropped her off, talk about make me feel bad, she was shaking and just a nervous wreck in general, this is a dog who goes to the vet every 3 months for regular check ups and pathology testing for her therapy work and is usually fine! How do they know? And I made sure I wasn't acting any different but perhps I was before we left home she didn't even want to get in the car! The nurse who spoke to me before they took her in said they will give me dental food to take home which is included in the price which she will have to stay on to help prevent any further tooth decay, is this normal practice? Not sure what sort of food it will be. She said because she has had this problem now it will keep happening, will it?
  21. Thanks guys, we are heading off to the vets shortly, I am such a sook I hate leaving them at the vets for anything. I have never had to do it much but when I do I am get so anxious! I know you guys understand my friends just think im a crazy dog lady and dont take it all so seriously! I'll pop in later once she is home and I can relax again!
  22. Thank so much for all the info, I think my vets must use the local block thing as last year Cooper had a lump removed and I believed he would be at the clinic for most of the day, they rang me one hour after I dropped him off to come and get him. It's usual for them to keep them for a few hours till the anesthetic wears off but not my boy, he is to special to be locked in a cage! drove the vets crazy with his post op cage carry on so I went and got him ad he came home and flaked it for the rest of the day! Pers you have basically said exactly what the vet nurse said to me and honestly If Tully never had he bad breath you would never pick her tooth was even bad. Thanks again for all the replies.
  23. Thanks for the info. Is it normal for the vet to use a general anesthetic or a local?
  24. Not sure what the course of action will be, I hope its all over and done with pretty quickly. I thought about the chicken and rice but was worried about the rice getting in the empty socket, maybe I worry too much!
