  1. Does anyone else enter pictures into I Shot It? Some great prizes and the comps are not to expensive to enter. There is also a free comp regularly and if you have a win there you get $ towards to account to enter other competitions.
  2. Wow beautiful photos, some great moments captured in that lot.
  3. Fantastic, look forward to more!
  4. Did you have a brand in mind? I'm sure you could get something reasonable for that amount brand new, what about the Canon 600D or the Nikon D3200
  5. Ruth I hate to say it but do you think all the BSL crap has anything to do with it. People might be scared that they will get him and have him taken away. Look at Rockets story, as everyone well knows he did absolutely nothing wrong and got taken. Just a thought. Pity you can't keep him, he looks well settled and loved at your place. I know you are probably sick of hearing that. I hope someone suitable comes for him soon!
  6. Great shots, love to see the whips racing!
  7. Nice photos guys, pers is your an iPhone pic, lovely DOF in that shot.
  8. Oh goodie, cant wait to see what you think of it! My cards I use are 16gb SanDisk they are 45mb/s class 10, they are fast and quick to download and you can usually get two for about $60 if you look about. Or cheaper on line. They had them at Dick Smith 1 for $54 I got two for the same price at Costco exactly the same. I have 4 all together now so wont run out in a hurry. I much prefer SD cards to CF, for me its just easier. I take the camera out of the card and download from the card reader! Hope you can let us know what you think when you get it. A couple more from the 6D from the weekend!
  9. Thanks Guys, I wish it was always sunshine and beach, so do the dogs! We do wind down a bit over winter, not out and about as much, my guys are getting older now so don't mind chilling around the house on wet and awful days, mind you if I took them out in horrible weather they would be in their element, the more dirt the better!
  10. Its always the unplanned shoots that you get the best pics from. I hadn't really used the 50mm on the 6D so thought I'd have a play! A few people thought this was Cooper, but in reality Cooper does hard done by much better than Bronson
  11. Corie, the white dog is Tully, she is such a beautiful girl, great nature, they all have wonderful natures I am very lucky! Bath time is not to bad, if we go to the dog wash I can do them all in about 15 mins. We went to pat stock last week and it too me an hour, swapping out the water from the bottom tank was a bit time consuming. I generally do them at home if they need a good and proper wash, I can take my time then, lucky they all love the bath except Cooper who likes to be in and out as asap. Well your G139 I hope your Hubby gets back into it. I had a real lull for a while a year of so ago, just completely lost my mojo for a few reasons but I am back enjoying it now more than ever! Speaking of Baths just thought i'd add this one, its a little bit cute!
  12. I am slowly getting the hang of the flash but just using it on auto (ettl) Is your OH a photographer? I really want to try the flash out and about, just haven't had a chance and the weather has been pretty ordinary here. So here is a few of my random phone shots from the last couple of weeks. Minus one in this shot but it was so cute, I had to include it! Begging for dinner. Ah don't you love winter! Not all looking but this was the after shot, all bathed and jammied up!
  13. How could you use this method on smaller dogs? You would need to be constantly hunched over. Her dog looks extremely well trained, she makes it looks soooo easy!
  14. Gorgeous of Koda! Loving Jakeys butt swirls! think he is saying to you, " hey you looking at my butt! Curious did you find my Hollyview page or just my regular page on facey, I don't mind at all. Will post my shots tomorrow but don't get excited they are nothing to write home about. Look really I'm no expert, I'm a bit like you, I like what I like and sometimes they are not perfectly exposed but I don't mind. but the ones you have just posted look fine. I know what you mean about the camera, the 6D is the same, the dynamic range and low light capabilities are just amazing. Are you shooting In raw? (Sorry if you have already mentioned this) if you think you have too many shadows you can pull them out in post if your using Lightroom or PS. I am only just new to flash and am yet to try it outside for fill light. But you might be right, if you used it on say -1 or -2 it would be enough to give their faces a bit of a pop without losing the detail in the back ground. Ha says me who hasn't tried the flash outside (except on macro shots) so feel free to ignore me if you want to! Which flash do you have and also your doing fantastically for someone who has only been shooting for half a year!
  15. Gorgeous shots! The bokeh on that lens is just to die for!! I bet you are loving it. I am ashamed to post my iphone pics from the last couple of weeks now!
  16. No idea about price, my vets are great their number is (03) 5561 6911 you could give them a call and find out.
  17. I didn't see your post tucked away in amongst the others. I have never really used a long zoom previously, I had only used the 70-200 a few times on the 7D before getting the 6D so I really didn't notice it.I do use the 650D for my dog training days and its good for a little extra reach. I guess it is what you get used to. You will probly notice it if your using your 70-200 a lot but you won't care once you see the difference of the Full Frame, you will just learn to get a bit closer! I really only use the 650D for dog training due to not wanting the 6D to get to grotty and bumping around at my side while I'm training.
  18. I think you would probly be unlucky to come across a ranger, but knowing my luck I would! especially with 4! People tend to notice!
  19. Lovely thoughtful shots of your boy! No not even allowed out with leads. There is signs everywhere that say dogs must remain in cars at all times. It is a national park area. It's not a huge stretch of coast where they aren't allowed but it is an important one Twelve Apostles area etc.
  20. Sounds like Koda is doing well. I live at the end of the Great Ocean Rd and while its a fabulous bit of coast line we very rarely go along it as the dogs aren't allowed out of the car for the most part especially between Pt Campbell and Princetown which is very annoying as they are the spots we like to visit. So if we go we must leave the dogs at home or confined to the car. I thought the same about Athenas tongue.
  21. I guess it depends what you want to shoot. The 70-200 is a great all rounder. I love it for the dogs running at me from a distance plus I use it for our dog traing photos all the time, it give me the reach I need. The 85mm for what it costs is amazing. G139, do you have Facebook?
  22. If I was closer I'd do this in a heart beat! I'm sure you might find someone who has a qualified dog with an organisation who is willing to give up a bit of their time. I know with Delta accredited therapy dogs they cannot go into a facility as a "Delta Dog" if the facility is not on board with Delta, but can visit unofficially (out of uniform) I do it with my girls who are accredited and also my boys who are not to where my MIL is in a care facility here in the the town where I live. I guess the only downside is if something happened for example the dog bit or scratched a resident causing harm the facility would have to wear the cost.
