I am hoping that's all it is, I'm going to get him in tomorrow and hope that Sue is on. Craig is good but Cooper is not a fan although better with him than he used to be. I just don't want any set back with him, he has come a long way. So I'm crossing my fingers Sue or one of the other female vets are on in the morning. Another thing, if it was something sinister like lymphoma wouldn't there be other symptoms?

Thanks for the wise words, if it wasn't the weekend I would have been at the vets 5 mins after I felt this thing whatever it may be. It is strange though it doesn't feel like a distinctive lump, more like a noticeable thickening under his arm pit. It has no definition and seems more elongated if that makes sense.

I've stopped googling for the time being, my OH has given me a talking to, he said I'm being silly and it will be nothing. I hope he is right. I'm pretty sure I will be able to get into the vets first thing Moday morning.

Don't wanna repeat myself so thought I'd post this here if you wanna have a read. JJ thought you might have had a few Ideas with being a vet nurse and dog person for lots of years. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/222662-its-probably-nothing/page__pid__5375153#entry5375153

Hi Guys, I'm probably worrying over nothing but thought I'd do a little post here to see if you guys think the same. Cooper was laying with me on the bed tonight having his usual cuddle and I was giving his tummy a rub when up under his arm pit I felt a lump. The lump is kind of soft and fleshy and not very defined. When his leg is stretched out it practically disappears. I got him to stand up so I could check the other side to compare and there is definatley a sizable lump on one side. Around the size of a 20c piece. It didn't seem to bother him at all, I felt around it for ages to try and get an idea of the exact size and to make sure it's not somewhere that a grass seed may have gone in (which would be highly unlikely now as it's winter and we haven't been anywhere where there has been any seeds) but it doesn't feel like that sort of situation. So I have checked the rest of his whole body over for anything suspicious and I am surprised I haven't felt this lump previously as he is a very smoochy dog and always has daily/nightly cuddles with me. He has no other suspicious lumps and he is in good health, eating fine, toileting fine, etc etc nothing at all out of the ordinary and I am usually pretty quick to notice these things if something is not right. In the past if Cooper has been unwell he takes himself away from the other dogs and just sleeps or goes really quiet. (he was like this when he had what the vet thought was probably bladder crystals) and he gets a kind of glassy look in his eyes, there has been none of that either, in every other way he seems perfectly normal apart from this lump. At the moment I hate google and I hate myself for googling because all I can come up with is lymphoma. To anyone out there who is going through this with thier own dog, my heart goes out to you. I am praying that is not what's wrong with Cooper and my mind is working over time. Can anyone give me any other ideas of what it could be? We have an appointment for yearly vacc and check up on the 20th but I will ring the vet first thing Monday morning and see if we can get in, other wise I am going to make myself sick with worry in the mean time. Thanks for reading and if you have any words wisdom or other wise I'd like to hear them.

All of mine have a little icecream occasionally, the last bit from a stick etc. My white girl Tully would sell her soul for ice cream! she is pitiful when I am eating it so I always save her a bit and sometimes all 4 have to share the stick. I think you did the right thing telling the lady about the chocolate. I wouldn't specifically buy choc and I f I was going to buy it it would be vanilla only. I have done the Maccas 30 cent cone thing once and my lot turned thier noses up, may have been the sheer volume next time they can have 1 between 4 of them.

I have only ever used wahl, mine are the km ss. I started with the show pro ones but once I got my second dog I thought I would upgrade. So I have had the km ss for about 3 1/2 years and on average they get used 4 times every 10 weeks. They havent missed a beat, I have been really happy with them. But I guess my usage is only minimal in the grand scheme of things. I did buy a new 5 blade for them but I don't use it, it never seems sharp enough even after it has been sharpened and the dogs are bathed dryed and brushed I cant get it to cut properly, so I just stick with the 10 blade and the ss combs that came with the clippers. I hope to get a few more years out of mine yet. Wonder if I shoudl have them serviced do they need that? It is something I have never thought about?? You have had some bad luck with yours by the sounds of it!

Hi, Last time I went to the vets around a month ago with Lacy the vet was checking her teeth and she has a broken off a piece of her back tooth, but the main part of the tooth is still there. The vet said while it is still intact even though the top part of the tooth is gone we should just leave it, but he also said nearly always it leads to them having to have that tooth out. He said abcesses (sp) can form quickly with teeth that have bits missing, so just to keep an eye on it in the mean time. but so far so good. So after all that I guess it depends how badly it is broken?? is there a bit missing or is it just broken like in half. If it is just in half it will probly have to come out. A friend of mines dog had a tooth broken, kind of split and it had to come out.

Plastic surgeon! Funny. I can relate, the one and only wedding I did was at the beach and it was a bright sunny day and the beach was glarey and the white and black of the bride and groom was so stark, and there was NO pro photographer I was it. I said I didnt want to do it but they begged me and begged me till I gave in. I will never ever do a wedding again, I just don't know how wedding photographers do it, way to stressful for my liking, I felt like I was going to throw up the whole time.

What are you considering a cup, how big is your cup? I know this was discussed quite a few pages ago but for the new BH feeders a cup is not a regular cup, say if you were using a regular sized coffee cup that would be considered nearly 2 of the cups I use. I had a friend who was over feeding and her dogs were leaving heaps, I asked her what she was using as a measurment and it was a (big) coffee cup, once she got the right amount to feed they weren't leaving any. Cooper who is 18 kilos and thats a nice size for his frame, he gets 2 cups a day, my younger ones are all smaller around 12 - 15 kilos, they get a cup a day sometimes a little more if we have been out and about off lead etc. they also get bones or wings/necks a couple of times a week. But i really consider BH thier main diet. My fattys are slowly losing weight, Lacy has lost a kilo, one down and one to go. I haven't weighed Bronson but he needed to lose 3. I did think this time when I clipped my lot that Tully was extra skinny but everyone who has seen her says she looks great, I think she is ribby so if she seems extra hungry I will give her some BH in the morning as well. Two of mine seem to have really great metabolisms but the other two not so much. They all get the same amount of excersise.

Dog people are certainly a different breed all of thier very own I couldn't count the number of times that I have heard geez they are only dogs and similar lines. I would hate to think what would happen to my four if all of a sudden I ran out of food and had to feed them a supermarket brand! One of mine had to have a procedure one day and I said I may have needed the day off work (5 hour shift) and one of my idiot bosses at the time said oh for god sake just have the dog put to sleep. She said it tounge in cheek but I was so wild I had steam coming out of my ears! I do go to ridiculous lengths for my dogs but only dog people would understand!!

Ah Sid. what a face, he is gorgeous. We have a frenchie come to our obedience and she is solid black, she looks a lot different than Sid but I think it is just due to the colour and she is fat as! Kja, thanks but my shots are more of a diary than a day of good shots! I must admit I am suprised I am still going, have not missed one day, but more often than not my shots are taken with my iphone. Im thinking for the second half I might try and set myself a goal each week like a week of work or a week of dogs etc, might get me motivated to use the good camera and take the shots for a week then upload them all at once. Now just gotta get the motivation.
