Congrats on your new camera, I agree with RnB about the 50mm, I have the 50mm 1.8 as well for my nikon, it is a super lense for taking close ups and also action shots. HAve a look at the thread in the photo section http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=154547 Mine was under $200 so it is a ripper little lense for the price. The only thing to remember with this lense is it is a fixed lense and no zoom, but once you get used to it its fabulous!

Great shots Annie, I love to see doggies having fun!

Hi I'm not sure if this helps but Ruth had a 50 D body only for sale a little while ago. If I want to look at something on ebay I usually go to Teds camera house and look at the new price and see how it compares to the ebay price.

Just thought I'd post these shots that I made up on a cool web site. There was a thread a while back I think it was Kirislin who found it originally and there was some great shots there, thought some of the newbies might like to have a play. Here is a some I prepared earlier :D Feel free to add your own!

	Thanks ;)

Yea thats the one, it's great. The whole shot, the way Chester has his legs crossed and such a cheeky look on his face. ON many occasions I have attempted something similar but no go :D have you got any of your 4 with you in the shot as well?? Love your recent one, apart from Texas the rest of the clan look a bit like "oh mum do we have too" ;) Great shot though!!

Same although I went to getting the over the counter stuff, same stuff but half strength. Might have to consider changing to a dfferent one. Another friend at work says they are the only thins that works for her. I have tried Mobic but they don't seem as good, swapping now to naproxen (sp) will see how that goes. http://www.drugs.com/naproxen.html I guess with any of these type of drugs there is a risk of all sorts of things but there is something about the voltaren that is worse than all the rest, not quite sure of the full story.

It was my mums doctor who told her there was a problem (2 days ago) with it as she had been taking it and knew I was too, I guess if your doctor tell you something is going to give you a stroke if you keep using it then you sit up and listen. It was the doggy chiro who suggests it for dogs I also know other people who use it on thier dogs with bad joint problems. Thanks for the quick replies, I wasnt sure if this had been posted earlier I did a search bit didnt find anything.

Recently there has been a lot of contraversy about Voltaren, firstly my Mums doctor told her not to take it anymore and to tell me to stop taking it too (Heal spur and Back) as a lot of things have come to light as far as this drug is concerned and it is bad, he didn't elaborate much on this, just said thedurg has been proven to make the risk of strokes amoung other things a lot higher. A few others I have spoken to reckon it is scaremongering but I'm not so sure. A work mate yesterday came to me (knowing I have dogs) and asked me if I use voltaren (topical) on my dogs for joints or any other problems? She had a friend with a 6 year old dog that had been treated with voltaren for a joint problem and the dog has just recently died of kidney failure. The vet put this down to the use of the voltaren. I have used the voltaren on one of my girls years ago but only for a few days, so I am not worried about it but just wanted to put it out there for others. I hate hearing things like this, it makes you question every little thing you do for yourself and your animals, all I wanna do is keep them safe!

I totally agree, but prices aside the quality and presentation of this steak was just divine!! Mmmmm could have been the cruisers glad I'm not working today anyhow!! On a sad note, my thought are with one of our local Drs and his family today as the bury thier little girl, she was only 2 and after a long battle with an illness lost her fight. So sad and so young. My friend is heading to the funeral, she works with Leilas Nan, arghhh hate funerals but a child would have to be the worst. Hold your loved ones close you never know what's around the next corner in life!! RIP little Leila. EFS.

There is a real challenge in painting with light if you want to try a live subject. I loved light painting the dogs but you need to try it when the dog is asleep. I love painting with light. What sort of light source did you use for your shots?

I've been to Mexican once with work mates and I swore I would never go back, very dissapointed with thier food. When your used to good Mexican (oz Mex in bairnsdale) it hard to compare!

Jj are we talking about the same place? Most of the steaks were $40 + Sean's main was over $50 he had surf and turf. I had the noodle dish and it was $25. One of the steaks, the big one 1.2 kilo was $70 no one was game to try it ! The enters and desserts weren't to badly priced though. Edited to add, is there such a thing as a food hang over

Have a great time Tez, hope you have your mobile, I will txt you!! If anyone wants a great meal the central court steak house is bloody awesome, I have never had steak like it! we just got home after a fantastic night with Seans work crew, one of his work mates has been there for 20 years.

I have driven past there a few times and had to restrain myself from going in, you know me so well Jj, I do love doggy fashion. The trouble with weatherbeetas Is they are so well made they last for seasons. My lot are still wearing WB's from 3 seasons ago! Sounds like there is none left in sizes for my lot anyway. Also I have to save my $ for the weekend Shan and I will be visiting best friends In Geelong so who knows what cool doggy stuff they will have!!

How To Take Good Photos With 50mm F1.8 Lenstlc replied to giraffez's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos Wasnt there a thread a while back with someone who had one of these lenses but it didnt have auto focus?? correct me if Im wrong. To get used to mine before I took close up shots I took shots from a distance just to get the feel of it, this lense also takes great action shots.
