  1. Our obedience club teaches drop from puppies, usually in the first lesson they are shown how to teach the pup drop. I think Obedience cclubs have come a long way in the last 10 years and there is a lot of options available now. I found with my lot, if out walking they will cast ahead and if I ask them they will come to heel. Most of the dogs I have some across will automatically lead ahead then if they have been taught to heel they can.
  2. Yes it is very possible to have a dog that does both. Your GR sounds like a very well behaved dog!! Welcome to DOL by the way, have you posted any pics of your pups, Id love to see them.
  3. Great shots, I think Number four is the better one for the 52 weeks, I think you will look back on it and see how much he has grown as it shows all of his body standing up, actually I think he looks more grown up in that pictures than he does in the others. And he looks very happy in this shot!!
  4. Beautiful shots everyone. Helen I like number 2 the best but they are all so good!!
  5. Fabulous photos, How wonderful to see the bubby, she is just adorable!!
  6. almost like he has one eyebrow raised, kinda like " you talk'n to me" or Joey from friends "how you doin"
  7. Nice shot!! We are definatley up to week six, I have a little photo shoot with CJ this morning, and he wasnt too impressed, this was the result, not sure out of the last two which one I will use?? There was no way he was going to look at the camera, When he finally looked up after the promise of a treat, his face was like this, and then the last two he still lookes very unimpressed but I liked these two, just not sure which one to use.
  8. Lots more beaut, photos guys. I am yet to take this weeks shot so I better get cracking!!
  9. A little bit OT but for you guys using clickers, Im curious, do all clickers make the same click, like as iin the same click tone and if not do the dogs stiill respond to a different tone click. For example if you have been using a clicker for dog training for say 6 months, then you lost your clicker and had to get a new one but different brand that had a different sounding click would the dog still respond to the click. I guess now that I think about it, it would possibly be the same if someone else was training my dogs and using words such as yes and good where Id use them. Suppose I have answered my own question.
  10. Wow thats amazing, When my cat (now 18 yo) was born, she was the first one out and she was just limp and I am sure that she had no heart beat, I waited to see what the mum cat would do and she didn't do anything as she had 5 more to deliver, so I picked her up and while I didn't give her mouth to mouth, I blew on her face lightly and I rubbed her chest, she was limp and lifeless, as I blew I rubbed for maybe 5 - 10 seconds and then she took this massive big breath. It was amazing, Im sure if I had of left her she wouldnt be here today!!
  11. thats hilarious!! I just love your pictures. Hey did you get one of them all cleaned up with the fridge shut, doggies in front looking like angels??
  12. More good shots, love the poop chaser Ruth!!
  13. thoses shots are so funny,, I like the first one best, the second is a little scary but in a good way!!
  14. Oh Shell they are all excellent, I love love love the third one where he is looking right at you, he looks so happy!!
  15. I have the No 10 blade and I use it with the SS combs and it works a treat. I am going to get a longer blade 4 or 5 so I don't have to use the combs all the time. I dont think there would be any need for a 30 blade the 10 does a great job. Do you have a Poodle x? How often do you clip?
  16. I f I had of been quick enough with the camera today, I could have got a pic of Tully getting on a chair that I left out from the kitchen table, then jumping onthe kitchen table I was horrified, she has never (to my knowledge done this before only minutes earlier I had sat her ball on the table as she was destroying it. CM, great shot of Jamie in the washing machine. I had a look in flickr and I couldnt find the challenge??
  17. This is exactly the same as the tug toys I make for my guys, and the last doggy day we went to in Melbourne I made all the dogs one, the dogs and thier owners loved them, I was sick of my lot tug o waring on unsuitable things, (things dont last long with 4 way tugs ) so I tryed them out on my guys and they loved them. I found that I had to do the plaits very tight or they come apart to easily. My lot continue to play with them even after they have come apart. I only plait with 3 strands and I make each stand fairly wide. I think they would be great as prizes, well done!!
  18. Can't believe the weeks are going by so quickly and it is week 5 already, I wish this year would slow down. Lola int he tub so cute, everyones photos are great!! heres mine 5/52
  19. Hey Shell, all you have to do to get your pics of the iphone is plug it into the pc , it will come up as a storage device so just do the same thing you would if you have loaded a camera card in the pc, easy peasy!!

    Rocco

A touching tribute to a beautiful boy, So sorry for your loss Serena Words fail me at times like this, You know how special Rocco was and it showed in every one of the pictures you took of him. He will be sadly missed by all his DOL followers. RIP big fella.....
  21. Mine went everywhere with me from the time they were 8 weeks old. I did however steer clear of any high dog traffic areas, I also spoke to the vet to see if we had had any cases of parvo in our general area, which we hadn't. You will get mixed reactions to this question as anyone who has seen a pup with parvo just will not be as quick to take the pup out. For me it was socailization first being very careful along the way. I didnt take any of mine to the beach till they were fully vaccinated as Parvo can also live a long time in the sand and so many people dont pick up after thier dogs at the beach. Our obedience club takes pups from 8 weeks of age, they have to have had thier first vaccination.
  22. Beautiful, especially love the last one!!
