Lovely shots, the horse shot is lovely! Some more from me, same boring bug I had a training day at work today and one of the things we learnt about was proteas, the teacher trimmed one and gave us the cutting, he knew I was into photography so he said here see what sort of shots you can come up with with that. So of course when i came home I was right on it. It was around the time when the sun was going down so I think I got a few interesting shots and one back lit which I will save for the other thread!

Whoops silly links, yes I did say 70-300 its THIS one, and I totally agree I will want a better quality one but at the moment I have zero $ to spend and hubby said get a cheapie to get by for now and he will pay, so technically not my money. gotta love a hubby that is a saver, after outgoings we have our own spending money, I spend mine, he saves his. Kind of works in my favour as he feels sorry for me and buys me stuff!

My thoughts exactly Jess, I've had hideous experience with my guys with experienced groomers, they think just because I have cross breeds they have license to hack thier fur off to look like crap! One of the reasons I started doing my own grooming. I must say though pet stock is a great shop and the service has been so good so far, even if there prices are a bit/lot over the top.

The price of the one I listed in post 17 is under $200 when I said cheapie I meant it. It's THIS ONE

fantastic shots, I did look at one of the cheaper Tamrons but decided the Sigma might be a better choice in that price range. Too many options. Love your work, this one is great Flying surfer also love the agility shots too.

Could I be an absolute PITA and ask you to post some pics from you 70-200? Pretty please?

Awww Happy Birthday Lotus! xx

CM is your 70-200 the canon version? Is it IS or non? I'm still tossing up between the two but don't think I'll need IS for action shots which is what I'll use it for mainly. Otherwise I'll use a tripod. Great shots, love love love the one of Lotus!

Yea I'd love a hydro bath but unless I win tattslotto its not going to happen any time soon! I had heard that about PS, a friend got offered a job as their groomer and she had no experience They said they would train her on the job. Thought that was a bit off unless they told their clients the groomer was a novice? Don't know how that would work.

Just had a look at the page and call me dumb it seems like its a PGD page, it even has pics of pups in cages in the shop. JJ what's the story? Now the shops shut is it just the dog was service? Did Bree work at PGD? I'll keep it on mind if here comes a time I can't bath mine for some reason, back etc, but it would cost me $100 to have them all done. That's a lot of mula considering I bath them weekly/fortnightly! I've also been offered the pet stock washing/grooming room at a reduced price if I ever need to use them which I thought was a nice offer. Still looking into my own hydro bath as well. It would make life easier!

That's awesome! I'm hanging out for one of the canon 70-200L series, probly the f4 but in the meantime hubby wants me to get a 70-300 cheapie so I've got a bit of extra reach for whales next time we go. Lens are very confusing to me, I'm looking at THIS one, for a cheap one it has reasonable reviews.

Pers is right, you can't just feed raw meat, you have to use other supplements to make the diet complete. I have four dogs and tried the raw feeding, it was difficult as it didn't suit all 4. There is nothing wrong with a good quality dry food. Mine get dry as their main diet and RMBs and chicken bits (wings necks) a couple of times a week. If you decide to go down the raw path you need to get it right so your pup gets all he needs! I think we need photos of said pup. Oh and Welcome to DOL. :)

In hindsight now I wish we had of went to the opening night which was Monday night, we didn't due to work but as it turned out I was home sick so couldn't have went anyway. I found the video by a fluke. I'll probly be he same if there's others there the day we visit.

Yes it's funny because my mum lives 2 min walk from this place and drives past it when she goes to do her weekly shopping and she always thought it was just an old shed in a paddock. What got me about it and caught my eye was the fire place collapsing, it just made it interesting. I have a few more shots of it but further away which I preferred but the didn't look quite so dramatic to me.

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone.

Ih Tanya Milah is just adorable! Geez I dunno about being a natural. I just usually snap and hope for the best. I did do a basic photography course a couple of years ago so I could better use my camera in manual mode but thats it. I don't think I have the eye for it like done people just occasionally get a good shot.

What gorgeous little helpers you have!

Awww thanks Linda, my friend has said the same thing, and I'm actually thinking of getting it done on a canvas for her.
-
I felt that too, not just your average run of the mill competition. Can't wait to go and have a proper look.

Thanks guys, the funny thing is about how it looks is I've viewed it on Mac, my of and my OHs PC, my mums PC and my friends PC and it looks the same on all of them so that's whynI thought it looked a but muted? Planning on heading up there in the next couple of weeks so I'll find out if it's just the video or if it is really printed like that. Anyway no matter still chuffed it's in a gallery, how amazing.

Arghhhh teeth, they are such a drama, I had the teeth dilemma last year, lost a front one had to get a plate and so forth, just a dam pain! Wish I could have them all out and get falsies! As for my dam back, I thought i'd be ok to go to work today but no so much, I went for two hours and had to come home. Im on a day off tomorrow so hopefully by Thursday I will be a bit better. Im other news, a photography competition I entered was judged last night, I didn't place but my image is in the hamilton art gallery so thats a bit special! :) More info HERE
