  1. Hi Guys, I seen on one of my facebook pages (in the US) today that someone got a Mini Aussie Shepherd, Are these a legit breed? Do we have them in Australia. I have a link to the breeders website but not sure if I am allowed to post it here?
  2. Thanks Kristin, I can send you some bugs, they are running rife in our back yard, hundreds of them and they are fast! The daisy is one of those ones that just grows wild in the back yard too. I was actually shooting the daisy and the bug just crawled on, I only had less than a second to snap the shot.
  3. Teebs, I think your right to go with your gut on this one, I don't know you but from your posts you strike me as a person who gives their all to everything and if you have puppy and a new baby one has to miss out somewhere and I'm betting it won't be the bub. :) Things could go perfectly smoothly if you did decide to go ahead with the pup you might have a perfect baby and a perfect puppy, but on the other hand what if either is difficult you still have to deal with the other, or worse case scenario Kaos doesn't cope with a puppy. Scenario, friend of mine got new puppy 5 months into her first pregnancy big plans for training pup etc, it all went out the window once the baby came along. Not saying you would be like that you probly wouldn't but being your first baby you just don't know what to expect. My 5 cents worth, go with your gut, there will always be other pups. and bub will be old enough to enjoy having a puppy around too.
  4. Awww pers, thats so cute, I didn't even notice you certainly have an eye for detail. Jo you are so right, Kirislin give me the heads up and I knew it would be a bit of a learning curve and that it has been, so after just over 2 months and 10 thousand photos (yes 10 thousand.) I start to feel more confident!
  5. Kirislin, I should give that a try, I had heaps from yesterday, I used AIServo and it worked a treat, first proper go I've had at it. Also much easier when my OH comes with me as I've mentioned before with Velcro dogs and all. Thanks Jo, I really feel I have. Having the 7D has really turned me back into a beginner, there's been a few times when I've nearly given up and said I want my D80 back  It was just so much easier. But I'm on the right track now.
  6. Thanks PC, I'll have a look. Ping, try sticking with one method till you feel comfortable and happy with the pictures. AV is good place to start. If you are able get yourself a copy of understanding exposure, Snook put me onto it and it's great for learning how it all works.
  7. Thanks CC, you know the guy in the shop told me there was no way I could hand hold he 7D with the 100mm for macro, he said I would need to use a tripod.
  8. Ping, nice fishing shot, I'm not the best judge of settings but I think if your shutter speed was slower your boy would be not so dark. Love the blue water in the back ground. What camera do you have? CC, I'm viewing on my iPad and it looks great, love the Bokeh balls!
  9. Yea i guess that would be easier than a chunky tripod with it only being one leg, it would be much easier to manoeuvre around. It would be benificial to me as I still have lots of trouble keeping the camera still when i press the shutter.
  10. These are a few others that I liked. A couple of Macro ones. Full set from todays action HERE Macro so far HERE If anyone wants to have a look.
  11. I think I am finally getting the hang of my 7D, I was really happy with the shots I took today, I know I've still got a way to go but at least these were reasonably in focus. These are the first ones I have taken of the dogs running that I have been happy with. I also had a much higher keeper rate of all the pics I took.
  12. A few shots from today, I do feel i am getting better now, these were hand held with the 100mm, the first one has a texture added the rest don't. I got really excited today as I seen a tiny bee, I waited ages for him to land but he just wouldn't. I am loving Macro, lots of people have said to me I have to use a tripod but I just don't see how you could possibly manoeuvre a tripod around some situations. I make use of the fence occasionally depends on what I am shooting.
  13. Love that shot of the J Man. :) Finally we had a nice day today and got out and about. Week 36 And one of Lacy and the Gang
  14. I agree with Wuffles, we don't compete in any dog sports so anything we do we do for fun. My guys have had fun learning obedience, agility, tracking, they love doing tricks etc but its funny even though they can all do each thing, they all excel at different things.
  15. You need to transfer the file to the compact flash card them pop it in your camera and follow the instructions. The Mac wont read the file, but the camera will.
  16. Hi and welcome to DOL, are you absolutely sure they are fighting and not just rough housing? Have you contacted the breeder and had a chat to them to see what they recommend you do. I'm actually suprised a breeder sold you litter mates of this breed. You will need to have your wits about you to have two pups of this breed grow up to be good k9 citizens. From your first post it sounds as though you have had these pups for a while when realistically you should have had them for a week if you bought them home at 8 weeks old?
  17. Happy Birthday Bailey, hope your having a wonderful day! :) x
  18. There is certainly something about dog people! No one here bats an eye at a 4 dog family. But I take mine out regularly to the park, off lead and the comments I get are unreal ( think I even made a thread about it once. ) it's mostly " gee you have your hands full" I just say well actually I don't their better behaved than some children I know! and that's the truth.
  19. Saying goodbye to our 16 year old boy and making the decision to have him PTS I think was the hardest thing ever. I took comfort in the fact that he had a full and happy healthy life and lived it to the fullest. I also try to tell myself the same thing now if I get down about the fact they can't be with us for always. It sucks that they can't live for longer but if we can tell ourselves we have done everything possible for them to have an awesome life then it's a tiny bit comforting. I had a guy at work tell me he didn't think I would cope if something happened to one of my dogs, I thought it was really strange but probly because I talk about them and they are the main focus of my Facebook page, I don't have kids and they are my life. Some people just don't get that, but to bad for me that's the way it is!
  20. For me when I had 3, I wouldn't leave one at home if per chance I wanted to take only 2 with me somewhere, but with 4 I can take 2 and leave 2 at home. On occasion I take two to training or two to functions (Delta) so two are always left at home together. This is not the reason I got number 4 but it definatley makes it easier.
  21. Not just on their birthdays but a lot of the time I think how it doesn't seem that long ago that they were pups and the time goes way too fast! I cant bare to think of life without them!
