  1. Amazing bee shots everyone! CC that last shot is awesome with the movement of the wings, so good! *stamps foot even harder, I want bees!*
  2. Definatley and you can get awesome lenses, tanya you need to get yourself a 50mm or even better a 40mm awesome little lenses for taking pics of Milah, The 50mm is under $200 and the 40mm is just over. Or cheaper if you buy them from DWI..... 40mm HERE ....... 50mm 1.8 HERE .... Awesome 50mm 1.4 HERE great prices and cheap postage and even though they are from OS they have Aussie warranties, I have bought 3 lenses from there and all been great and arrived in under a week. They are all prime lenses so only one length which takes a bit of getting used to if your not used to it but once you get used to it you will love it. What lens/lenses came with the camera? Seans only came with the 18-55 and I only bought the body and then got a few lens that I wanted and are still lusting after more.
  3. Wow 3 months where did that go! She looks divine! I think she looks like you. Seans camera is similar its the 650D
  4. Same old here Tanya, work, dogs, photos etc etc loving my new camera and just want to have it round my neck 24/7  Sean's also got himself a camera so I've been playing with that too. :) Sean's mum still in hospital, she's doing ok but now has an infection in the leg she broke. My back is somewhat better but it's ongoing just have to be careful what I do, can't walk far which is a pain, so I've been taking the dogs to the park with the bike which they love and great excessive for them. Tanya how's bubs going? Bet she is getting bigger every day, got any more photos?
  5. What a stunner was the first thing that came to mind but W&H beat me too it!
  6. Oh goodie, looking forward to some new life in this thread! Yea I snapped those two shots really quick while they weren't looking. They were very close. :)
  7. Definatley the third one for the portrait shot, I'm not sure if its just me but the first one looks extremely grainey (noises) maybe that's the effect you have gone for?
  8. * stamps both feet * I wanna Bee to shoot....... Great shots! :)
  9. And a couple from afterwards, I went to the breakwater where the ocean was feral and everyone was having a sticky beak, I snapped these tourists. Taken with the G1X This is what they were looking at
  10. Suprise suprise me in here again!! A couple from today, we had a cruisy dog training session and some down time afterwards, these were a few impromptu shots I snapped. I used the 70 - 300 Sigma, (probly should not have wasted my money but it will do for the time being for a bit of extra reach.
  11. My oldest dog has BVS, once I started feeding twice a day it stopped completely, my other 3 get fed once a day and they are fine. Although a couple of times a week they get extra in the form of bone, ( chicken wings, neck or rmb) I think bones are an important part of teeth maintenance. Why not wait and see how he goes without the collar and if need be you can use one. None of mine needed the collar after deserving and all bounced back quickly. Try to relax and don't fuss or the dog will pick up on your stress. Good luck.
  12. I usually open the card icon when it pops on the screen open the folder where the photos are then copy and paste them into a folder, from there import to Lightroom. Don't know if that's the right thing to doubt it works for me. Hubby bought himself a camera yesterday ( never thought I'd see the day) mainly for his telescope. so while he was at it he got me a new CF card, I only had one so it will be good to have two.
  13. Yea I did but never use it, I didn't do it to begin with but then thought I might give it a try, but soon went back to lightroom, just couldn't get the hang of it. Maybe it doesn't like Macs, it didn't show anything up when I plugged the camera in. Although it pops up when I plug the ipad or iphone in.
  14. Thank goodness you had copies, its the worst thing about digital storage, I heard someone say you need to replace all hard drive after 4 years because thats all the life span they have, don't know how true that is?
  15. Thanks guys, all is well today and seems to be working ok, so I am thinking it was due to pulling the card out without ejecting. I will be making a point of doing it all the time from now on.
  16. Gorgeous garden, I spy a little grey in the 4th shot. :)
  17. I agree, I loathed having to plug camera into computer, I was very quick let me tell you that! it was a CF card, never gave it a thought it could be a lens issue. I'm still hoping its a one off event, CF cards are too dam expensive to replace! I only ever had one problem with a SD card and mostly I've only used really cheap ones till recently. Another question, how many here format their memory card every time they have used it. I've gotten into the habit and have done it with this particular card since new tonight's the first time I took 3 lots of pics, downloaded the first two and it happened on the 3rd lot.
  18. I really think/hope this is the case, stupidly I had the camera and the tripod set up outside in the freezing cold and about to shoot and then the camera tell me no card, derp, so I run back inside wading through a sea of dogs and just pull the card out of the reader, the error popped on the computer screen you know the one where it says bla bla bla card not ejected bla bla bla....... guess that bla bla bla should really be taken notice of!
  19. Its this SIGMA Lens. I hope the cards not dodgy, I got it from HN and it wasn't a cheapie. Ive been using it since July with no trouble. Definatley fingers crossed it doesn't happen again! Thanks, Bailey is a sweet boy! :) For the Nikon fans some bargains HERE At this stage I think I have decided on the 70-200 f2.8L non IS, I'll probly change my mind again who knows.
  20. Has anyone had any trouble with their computer not recognising the camera care or more so saying the card is corrupt and to reformat as soon as possible? Tonight I was taking some photos of the moon with my el cheapo lens my Hubby just got me to tide me over till I can save for a real one, Anyhoo, I had taken a few shots and downloaded them no worries, and then took some of the moon and when I put the card in the reader it gave me an error msg on the screen to say the card needed formatting although it said I could still get my pictures off but then reformat asap. The thing was it said no pics were found on the card. So I plugged the camera in via the cord (which I never do) and the Mac did not show the camera and said no pictures found, so I was a little more than annoyed at that stage as I really wanted to see how the shots of the moon turned out with my cheapie! so a thought occured and i opened lightroom and there they were, not all showing up but I imported them and they all showed up. So I unplugged and reformatted the card. Has anyone else ever had this happen or does anyone know why it happened? I had earlier pulled the card out of the card reader with out ejecting it and I am thinking this may be why? Thoughts anyone? The only one single photo of the moon that I thought was 'just' passable. Two of the others I had taken earlier before the problem with the card. I am looking forward to having a bit more of a play and hope my cards not stuffed.
  21. Can you pm me your home addy and I will pop it in the mail next week. :)
