  1. Great photos, I knew what the strange fruit was as soon as the first pic started to load, I don't know why but bats freak me out, I have never seen one in person and I never want to. Love the last photos, its very calming!
  2. beautiful shots! Look forward to more. Lets not talk about space, I need to cull the crappy ones but I never do, since I have had my 7D (mid July) I have taken just on 20,000 photos. at least now I am getting a much better keeper rate than I was at the beginning!! The second last pic of Lotus looks like she has a half docked tail.
  3. CC, none of them look over exposed on my screen (macbook) all have really good definition and I can't see any blown out bits at all?
  4. They look fantastic to me too, good job!!
  5. Are we at week 40 yet? Ive totally lost track, I might be one week ahead! Lacy week 40/52
  6. Perhaps with all the goings on with puppy farms etc the word is slowly getting through to people and they are not buying from these places any more? We have recently had a pet shop close down in town too, they had started to go bad so trying to boost business thought they would add puppies to their list of items for sale. They are now closed. Although I think it might have been more than one as it was part of the PGD franchise. I don't think Kirislins OP or BC's crazy celebratory emots were directed at the shops misfortune at having to close down, more at the fact that its one less place for puppies to be sold from.
  7. That's great! On POTN under the user names, what does 'image editing ok' mean? Do you know? It doesn't come up under mine? Maybe you need to post a certain amount of pictures?
  8. Awe Poor Boofy, woofs and wags from the gang, hope it gets better without an op!
  9. Congrats Becks, I can feel the proudness radiating from your posts! Levi looks gorgeous! :)
  10. That first one is amazing! Absolutley love the second one too! how did you go with getting them both in focus on the move did you use servo? or just one shot? I havent tried any macro stuff thats been on the move, Ive only tried stationary stuff. But I guess its like anything else if the camera can ficus on it AI servo should still apply? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?
  11. Not sure if this is really PJ style but it tells a story.
  12. They look lovely! gorgeous dogs too!!
  13. Yes I think a tripod is a must and you really need to use a remote or the timer. I did t think I'd be interested in AP but seems I am!
  14. Thanks, I'll check it out. I did see an amazing pic in the 70-200mm thread of the moon, it was awesome, have a go with yours you might be suprised!
  15. Hi Guys, some might remember my thread a while ago about getting a telescope well we finally got a telescope, its an older one but has camera attachments and it was my OH's intention to learn how to take pictures of the sky, I knew this would end up resting on my shoulders and I said I am not doing it.......... Fast forward to the last week or so he got himself a new camera because I said he is not using my 7D not only due to the heaviness after a certain amount of googling the 7D has given a few astro photographers some grief. So waiting patiently for a moon we compramised that we would learn how do to it together! Fast forward to last night 3.30am and I find the best looking moon as I let the dogs out for a wee, does hubby get up to help??? NO No he doesn't so i thought what the hell i will give it a go on my own. This was the result, Im thinking not to bad for a first go, its hard because the moon is right there, these are not cropped at all, the telescope makes for an 1800mm lens, Im hoping to get better with time, these are not quite as clear as i would have liked but just thought i'd share anyway.
  16. Thats great, suits the thread perfectly!
  17. I just seen this one Facebook! Hope you gave that guy a piece of your mind? Did you have Roscoe with you as well? There just has to be 'that' guy that ruins it for everyone else! We have had our fair share of agro dogs and dog parks and on lead, one on lead one even having a go at my youngest at the time as we stopped to let them go by, I got between them and the dog bit my lad badly instead, the owner admitted it had done it before. Poor Riddick, hope he copes socially after this around other dogs and has no ill effects, I have one effected by a dog attack and it can stick with them for life.
  18. I totally agree with you, I like the contrasty black and white too, I have looked at my first two shots and think they are way too busy but your right if they were in colour they would be even more so. Black and white is so subjective what works for one shot may not work for another!
  19. Some from me from today at work, there was some guys from the steam engine club with a display, it was really cool and lots of older gentleman dropping by to say hello and check them out. These two guys wanted to pose for a shot, the man on the left is a regular at our dog park. :) Some coloured pics of the engines Not sure now If I should have left all the pics in colour?? Snook our balck and whites are so different. I have been using presets for the black and whites and I have so many I can never decide which looks the best.
  20. Ok go for it, Rules of thirds is a tricky one, not everyone believes in it so I have discovered. Do you want to start the tread and explain? :)
