  1. This just came up on my Facebook...sorry I couldn't work out how else to share it except via Photoshop
  2. Hmmm...well yes...I guess. Pizzles are just that ....pizzles (boy bits)
  3. Hate to be an enabler :) but Loyalty Pet Treatsare offering a 10 % discount on their products (excluding those already discounted)for on-line orders for one week. To get the discount you need to enter the code LOYALDOGS when ordering. They are 100% Australian, contain no nasties AND do a fantastic job sponsoring a lot of dog clubs...ours included. I just bought a big box full ..pizzles, chewy roo, tripe, minnow & green lipped mussels in the big kilo bags :)
  4. Maybe best if the owners went & had a look at a few & got one fitted. What a great idea .... I might make that suggestion at our club, as we have two cattle dogs that are DA , both belong to the one owner & if she wasn't such a good club member, then they wouldn't be allowed there
  5. As we are just one week out from our trial, this Monday we are going to be doing Strategic Pairs, & if we get through that in plenty of time I will change the numbers & make it an advanced agility course (see course 2) Second course
  6. Hi Falconridge, Are you still after agility maps?? I have a heap & I could email you a few if I know exactly what you want & what level. I did have a few saved from the Nationals but I think they were more advanced courses. :)
  7. Black Hawk now have grain free in 20 kilo bags, but I have no idea what it cost.
  8. Lovely...a pity they can't do this on Lord Howe Island to rid the place of its rats
  9. We set it up at training last night & we did it 5 to 6, 9 to 10 & 14 to 15, though some of us, myself included had trouble keeping the dog off the weaves. I have made a note to myself to keep my eye on my dog. No trouble with sending our dogs to the weaves from the AF while we got into position at 14. We broke it into three sections & then put it all together. It was fun & I was surprised to see how much distance the dogs saved by doing the reverse spins/flips at those spots. :)
  10. I have a bottle of Phenyl that I bought to one day clean down my wooden veranda as it sometimes gets a "doggie" smell about it, but just wondering if it might encourage the dogs to pee there. Any one enlighten me
  11. Same here. I always support Australian products when I can but I won't buy something I don't like or that doesn't suit me just because its Australian. Well that's just common sense isn't it...but while ever my two BC's are doing so well on BH I wont be changing brands just because of a price rise They have been on it most of their lives, but if it doesn't suit some dogs then buy something else. There would not be one brand of dog food that suits all dogs
  12. The falling Aussie $ DOES have some effect on local prices. The cheaper the Aussie $, means that our exports are cheaper to overseas, therefore simple supply & demand pushes our local prices up for raw materials. Thankyou Black Hawk for not using cheaper raw products from OS. As long as they remain competitive with price & quality with other 100% Aussie made & grown foods, I will keep supporting them. I certainly don't want to feed my dogs fish, chicken or anything else from China, Vietnam, Thailand or Mexico just to name a few.
  13. If you are going to vote with your wallet...then I would be interested in what you are going to buy for the same value :) The price of raw ingredients especially protein has skyrocketed in the last six months. So if we still want to buy kibble that has Australian ingredients, then maybe we are going to have to pay for it. I am a farmer & the prices for beef & lamb are the best on record...not that it is any use to us farmers as we have nothing left to sell...hence the sharp rise in prices.
  14. "Original Poster" :) I would love to know if anybody on here actually bought some from the OP
  15. I use Nexgard on my guys. A once a month chewable tablet.
  16. Sawtell Caravan Park at Coffs Harbour has just become dog friendly...not sure about being allowed in cabins, but you can check here Sawtell Beach Caravan Park
  17. Hope everything is improving this morning...how horrible
  18. Heres my two...sitting under the wattle, of which there is heaps of at the moment :)
  19. Probably the same thing but with a different name. A reverse spin is eg. you are ahead of the dog who is on your right, as you get to the take off point you turn into the dog & cue him over the jump with your right arm, then continue to pivot while the dog takes the jump & pick him back up with the same arm (your right) but with a head change (blind cross). It is handy for pulling the dog off an off course obstacle & is tighter than simply doing a shoulder pull...Here is a reverse spin It looks very similiar to a flip, but with a flip you maintain eye contact with the dog for longer, till the dog lands, then do your blind cross further along the line of the dogs path. It is a tighter turn around the wing than a reverse spin. Here is a Flip ( I am trying to put up the Flip video but it keeps reverting to the RS ) I agree...a rollover would not go over very well in the middle of a run
  20. I havn't put one up for a while. We have been practicing reverse spins & flips, so I am putting this one up Monday night as there are three places here where we can put what we have been learning into practice.
  21. We have two border collies & live on a cattle property with heaps of wildlife. We have an electric fence for the cattle. Our house yard is fence with 90cm high dog wire & 15cm from this runs a hot wire around the top. Our dogs have never tried to escape the yard. If they were diggers then I would also put a wire 15 cm from the ground around the bottom of the fence to stop them digging under. Electric fences are a godsend. Usually they will only touch it once, then stay away. One of our guys is fine with wildlife & he runs free when we go for a walk, but the other has to stay on a lead as she is a fearless chaser. She doesn't kill, but she will chase. If she can't find something to chase then she will roll in something disgusting  So its on the lead for her most of the time. Do you take your guys for a couple of walks a day to get them out & about ?? And do you do any mental training with them??
  22. It's the same stuff, just processed a little coarser. People can use the dog one :) I feel as though it would be an awful amount of work to put it into gel capsules if you didn't like the taste of it.. I don't mind the taste of it at all...it is quite nutty...nothing unpleasant about it.
  23. It's the same stuff...just sprinkle a teaspoon on your cereal. I always share the same tin with my dog. You can also use the Horse one, except it has a bit of mollasses in it. I checked with RHV some time ago about being able to use the product for human consumption.
  24. That's a dog's natural way of finding out as much as they can about this new dog, I would think. I have a three second rule when greeting another dog :)
