Agree, something just doesn't sound right! If you don't want to show or breed yourself, don't worry about the full papers. If the breeder wants to see if he is worthy of being bred from, she will need to pay for the testing and then if the tests come back to her liking and she then wishes to breed, she will have to upgrade to main register anyway otherwise she won't be allowed to breed with him! So why on earth would you agree to pay her another $800 Comes down to if SHE wants to use him, she will have to put him on mains anyway which is none of your concern as the pet owner. And the papers certainly don't cost anywhere near that!

You know, the many times I had gone to the show before I got into obedience, I never once stumbled across the dog events!! No wonder I found the show completely boooooring!! Had I found the dog stuff, I might have not only enjoyed the show, but I may have gotten into obedience much sooner! Mas, if you can get at ticket or buy a ticket for Monday, Amy and I might be there. I am going Sunday to compete but may go Monday to do the show-goer thing and buy a couple of way ovepriced showbags. Refuse to pay $50 for a 90 second ride on something that could fall apart if they missed a bolt or something!! ok, slight exaggeration of price, but it used to be $10 many years ago so I would hate to see the prices now

I hope Sophie is ok, Tiggy I'm sick Stupid cold And I'm hungry but have no lunch with me. Any good (and cheap!) suggestions what I can buy for lunch? Oh, and it mustn't be tooooo fattening and needs to be close to my office. Oh well, looks like I'm going hungry. The ONLY food places nearby are Fast Eddy's and japanese, and I had sushi the other day. Oh life's dramas, huh!!

Maybe they mean crazy ones, extra crazy ones, ones that love to lick people? If they say Labs only, they probably don't mean GR's as they aren't Labs! But how odd that they are saying no other breeds welcome, that's a put off. I understand it's a Lab meet, so Lab owners will get together, but if a Lab owner or a friend of a Lab owner who has a different breed as well as a Lab who wants to come well, too bad! Yellow

Well done Scoota and Brooklyn!!! A win each for the boys, way to go sharing it around fellas!

I am not going... I ended up going and we had a really great time :-) .. my DH shoved me out the door, but i am so glad i went, just what i needed and Rosie ran so well. :-) I got home from work too late to be there in time to help set anything up, so decided I should just wag it. And if I ate dinner then went to training, I would have been late! And I was starving, so wagging won out in the end

Like the idea of Ob Gr Ch though! What does TCQ stand for? (sorry to hijack thread, CWEW!!)
-
OT: how do you get a title in NZ for obedience? I thought about CGC too, but we'd fail miserably where my Labs can't sit still when someone new and exciting walks past
-
+1. I grew up wanting a Lab. No idea what they were really like besides gorgeous (in my eyes) and happy dogs, but I didn't care. 10 years later I finally got one. Did my research on the breed in advance, decided that I still liked them after finding out about them and was willing to do what it took to make it work, then found a great breeder. Labs are my heart breed, can't ever imagine not owning a Lab, and all this started based on loving how they looked I also love the look of the English Setter and the Beagle, but after doing some research I have realised they aren't suitable for me, at least at this point in my life. So even though I think looks usually come first when choosing a breed, if they then do the research it can sway a person either way.

Yay go the West Aussie superdogs (and their super handlers! )
-
LOL, I am not a customer either but they don't mind! Oh I forgot about theirs! I've never actually used it but remember you mentioning it a few times :D Maybe when it's warmer I may venture there after a Riverside trip.

Then go to VetWest, their hydrobath is out the back in their grooming room so no public will be watching you!
-
Midland BP&G have had a hydrobath for ages :D I like having my own though with built in dryer So we can all come to your place to use yours after they get to have a swim in your dam?
-
Yep Better Pets and Gardens Canning Vale, as well as VetWest Canning Vale. At VetWest you can either pay to have them do it (around $20), or pay $10 and take your own towels to do it yourself (so I assume you can use your own shampoo too). I've been meaning to try the BP&G one but I'm not game to bathe my dogs in public Well, Millie at least!
-
If you are then I am, too I'd take what's in my sig over a scruffer, anyday "Lab temperament", shedding coat and all!
-
What did you buy? :D I want a couple of cool coats and maybe that ball that makes noises and glows Need to measure the girls for the cool coats, but can't be bothered getting up

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery for Yogi
