Are you coming to training tonight?
-
Mine are probably out there destroying my lawn I feel terribly guilty. This morning, I didn't give my girls breakfast ;) I was running late for the train, as per usual, so I made an executive decision to just chuck their frozen kong into their bowl as their brekky. It fooled Millie, she ran off happily with her kong, but Ruby sat at the glass sliding door as I walked away with this look of disbelief. I swear it was saying "where's my real breakfast, woman!!!!!" We've got training tonight so they will get lots of treats tonight, plus dinner, and they have their kong, so it's not like I am depriving them of nutrition, but the hungry Lab eyes is enough to break your heart

Where are all these laid back labs? All the ones I know (bar one guide dog, that is) are pretty full on. That's what I was thinking. I own two and the only time they are laidback is when they are resting Labradoodle debate aside, I think there needs to be more public awareness on that a Lab is not born a perfect family member! So many families want Labs cos they appear to come pre-trained and perfect with kids, but that only comes with constant, consistent training and time for them to mature! Maybe then people wouldn't be so quick to want a Lab or a Labradoodle and continue to tarnish the Lab reputation when they end up in the wrong hands. That's the thing about Labs, too, public perception that they are perfect family breeds. They can be, as noted above, but it takes work.

Can't say I love the Lab hair x 2, but I love my Labs and the hair is a small sacrifice for my heart breed. If people want a woolly Labrador then they don't really want a Labrador My sister has a Labradoodle (no idea if its a multigeneration Australian one from a "registered" breeder or not) and he is nothing like my Labs. Looks nothing like, and acts nothing like! And she was told he would be non-shedding and on the smaller side. Well there are tumbleweeds throughout her house and he is almost the size of a standard poodle! Thing is, he was tiiiiiiiny at 8-10 weeks (whatever age he got flown over), even I couldn't have seen he'd turn out that big! My Labs were much bigger pups and they turned out smaller than her Labradoodle.

I can't get naked dsl at my house either (I think you mentioned that was what you are after) so I went for mobile broadband until I can. Very happy with it as it means I can take it on the road with me and my laptop, too Came in handy for my Melbourne trip at the airport and hotel room!

It just depends if you have it to yourself or not Mas1981 can probably tell you a good story that happened to her there. Something along the lines of there were these dogs lunging and being fairly aggressive to Mason through the fence as she approached the gate, and the dumbass owners were telling her to hurry up and bring her dog in and let it off lead already because her dog being on lead was what was making their dogs act the way they are. I'm not that cluey on doggy behaviour, but it was my understanding that the one feeling intimidated and perhaps aggressive, if any, would be the one ON lead, not the ones off! She did what any sensible person would do, walk away!

I'm not a huge fan of Whiteman Park, morons with their aggressive dogs frequent that park and think it's normal doggy sociable behaviour to act that way.

Here is Millie's video from today:
-
I am seriously thinking about withdrawing Ruby and just taking Millie
-
And what if they want a lab temperament and not the lab coat so get a labradoodle but they get the poodle temperament and the lab coat? Just a thought ... You mean a smartarse dog that sheds like nothing on earth? Seriously, though, people have a strange idea of what the Poodle temperament is. Poodles were, after all, originally bred for water retrieving and can still be all-purpose utility dogs. Amongst dogs I have bred are those with Tracking titles, Herding titles & general Obedience titles. Poodles are also VERY people-orientated. I don't think anyone was having a go at a Poodle temperament or how smart they are.

Here's my Moo!

I'm watching Millie's round back, it's not as neat as I would have liked and to be honest, I think the score was a little too generous But hey, I will take it She heels too far away from me. Have to try and fix that. Ruby's heelwork was much better than Millie's I have to say, but she can't keep the SFE together! Oh and DOR today was non-existent Maybe one day she will pull all the exercises together. And then she'll go on to fail the stays Currently uploading video now, will post link when done!
-
Well done Seita and Ella, off to watch the video now!!! I have to get my videos organised, Millie got her first Novice pass today, I am mighty chuffed with how well she is going

Conrats sas and Dante!!

Can those "in the know" in regards to registered names and stuff please clarify something for me! Now I was under the impression that AI at the end of a dog's name meant Artificial Insemination (or along those lines), is this right? So why would my Associate Registered dog, whose parentage cannot be proved, have AI after her name? When I did my online entries for the Royal and entered in Millie's registration number, it came up as MILLIEMOO (AI), I thought it weird but then just disregarded it as maybe that was a special marker for the Royal entries that she is an associate dog But the other day I received Millie's CCD certificate back and once again, it says MILLIEMOO (AI). What the?!?! ;) What does this mean?? And yes it is displayed in brackets, which is the other odd thing.
