OzJen, I will book tomorrow morning to give anyone else a chance if they wanna come, though I think we're probably at our peak now If we can't get in, fallback plan is Sizzlers (Riverton?) @ 7pm. Will you book under rubystar? Ok we'll all check back on here to make sure we know where to be. No I won't be booking under RubyStar :D I will book under Katie

I was about to ask where that was and then I realised you mean't the greyhounds. It's like those people who say they're going to the "Caz"... I'm like wha???? They're like "the Casino" It took me about 5 years to realise the 'Cass' and Burswood Casino were the same thing, I always thought the 'Cass' was some pub in the City Shows how much I go out I thought things had to be "cool" to get a shortened name... I think the Casino is as boring as batpoo. But hey that's just me

It takes 30-40 mins depending on traffic and if I need to open and close the gates at home. Ozjen I vote whichever is closer to K9 and easier to get home from. What kind of gates do you have?
-
Yeah I'm up for Greyhounds. Backup plan if we can't get in, Sizzlers
-
I could always join you to stir things up a bit! I'm not that far from Cannington nor Riverton Come on doooooooown!!

1. OzJen 2. RubyStar 3. Amypie 4. J (ozjen's sister) 5. ValleyCBR Great turnout I haven't booked, may do so tomorrow. We can always ditch that idea and just do Sizzler?
-
I'm sorry, are you West Australian? No? Then your scribing opinion isn't valid here I agree with Ness ;) I have actually only ever scribed when helping out I think And then you had the days when you got to scribe and backup time! It's scary when you haven't done it! I'm sure it's fine once you've done it once (or twice)

I'm sorry, are you West Australian? No? Then your scribing opinion isn't valid here Kidding I would prefer not to scribe, I have the attention span of a flea so I am likely to tune out and miss the judges signals!! It's too full on a job for me I'm afraid

Rubystar - I am telling you now my number for Saturday morning is 1178 my time is 34 seconds and he did go clear - got it BRIBE - what Bribe???? - I know nothing about a blue plastic drum......... :D Which dog? Hey you never know, this could be for the Novice ring, so perhaps it's Amy and VCBR who need to be doing the bribing! Chances are I'm not scribe anymore cos I don't really feel like pooping my pants in that job.

It's all good RFT, I replied to the email saying I am not comfortable being scribe and he said that we can trade on the day, our names against jobs was just a marker to see what people he had, not set in stone Email came tonight, and we need to be there in the mornings at 7.30 And 12pm for afternoon "shifts" :D

:D That is exactly what I was going to post when I saw this photo So pretty! My guess is she was waiting for the i-squeak to be thrown in this photo Some really nice shots of everyone's dogs! Rach, do you mind if I save the photos that has Ruby & Millie in them to put in my facebook album of my dogs?
-
Dummy question but how do you train for herding? Is there equal handler skills required to dog skills or is it all the dog?
-
Great photos, Rach!!!!

Rubystar, if you are interested in the Retrieving Club's training days, give their secretary a call for the times. It should be in the Canine News, or else phone DogsWest for the contact number. The first training day I have heard, is going to be May 8th, so as not to clash with Mothers Day on the 9th. These training days are really to answer any questions new people might have about the sport, and, to let them have a go at a retrieve as close as possible to how it may be in a trial, but without the distance. Newbies can opt for their own favourite dummy for their dog to retrieve, and also, there is the opportunity for the dog to hear gunshot, whether it be from afar or up close (your choice). The main problem we seem to encounter with novice dogs/handlers to the sport is lack of obedience, which is really a necessity, as the excitement of the whole retrieving thing, takes hold of youngsters and if you haven't got that obedience instilled into your dog, then it can be a trying time. At the training day, you can keep your dog on a lead if required, and there will be more experienced people to help and advise. I have given ValleyCBR a DVD which goes over basics in training, maybe she will loan it to you too. It might help a bit. Thanks for that. I'll definitely come along I'll send Lyn an email, is she still the person to contact? My primary focus is obedience trialling so we should be ok

Happy Birthday Banjo and Lilly! I bought my two one of those each after they wouldn't stop playing with Mason's. They love them! They are what got Millie to finally swim

Sounds good to me!! Sounds good to me too, so anyone interested in going we will need definaite numbers so that we can book a table. Mirrawee I know you won't know till Tuesday but don't think one person will be an issue if we book for you and you can't make it. Rubystar do you know what time they start serving or wether we have to pay gate entry on top of the meal? Might check with some other doggie friends and see if they want to join us. I'm not sure, I don't believe you have to pay a gate entry fee but I will see if I can find out. Opens 6pm til 11pm. We can get there around 7pm like you originally said I think? As OzJen said, we need definite numbers because we have to book at this place. Can you please advise by Tuesday arvo around 3pm if you intend on coming so that I or OzJen can ring up and book? Just add your name to the list: 1. OzJen 2. RubyStar 3. Amypie 4. Mirawee (maybe?)
