  1. Ruby thought it was a hoot! She's just happy that somebody will "play" with her Definitely got see Brooklyn's cheeky side though that's for sure
  2. :D This particular 270 degree left turn was the result of bad handler footwork. She mustn't have read what I was going to do properly, I think she thought I was going into a left about turn and reverted to her old round-the-back LAT and then when she realised that wasn't quite right, was very quick to correct herself back into heel position! I can't fault her a single bit, she did all she could do! Bad handler, though It threw her for a sec though I think, because she missed her sit right after that. Your 270 LAT sounds like a hoot, though!!
  3. LOL = celebrating we were. Rubystar is the best person to have in the car - her bag held an endless supply of Goodies or jackpots for me Big congratulations to Bedazzled who took out UD at both trials today - well done mate Big woohoo for bedazzled! Her UD rounds were great!! (as always ) Then Brooklyn celebrated his success by playing i-squeak keepy-off with Ruby
  4. I know tell me about it, have been checking my phone the whole evening, thought I was in 'the circle of trust' Sorry guys. By the time the trial was finished we were so tired we just wanted to high-tail it outta there! Spent the trip home eating chips and chocolate in a desperate attempt not to fall asleep Sms's coming your way next time!
  5. Thanks guys Watching her heelwork back, I couldn't be prouder of my girl! She invented a new 270 degree left turn which I believe should be worth bonus points and missed a sit with the wind blowing furiously in her face, but her heelwork, in my eyes at least which may be biased, was just BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait until we manage to finetune it a bit more The wind was so strong that as I was walking off for the recall, it was blowing me sideways and I'm trying so hard to walk in a straight line, which is hard to do at the best of times ;) Special thanks to Ptolomy and bedazzled for their help today Here is the video of the AM trial:
  6. Got home quite late! It went for quite a long time today. Trial went very well! 2 novice passes down with 2 first places to boot Here is my baby, she is extremely buggered! As am I - why am I still up?!?!?!
  7. Nope missed the closing date unfortunately. Spent yesterday rounding up stuff for making my jumps. My next trial is the state trial then southern river the next weekend (both am and pm trials) then the GSDA trial the next day, then NATIONALS!!! Just posted my entries for Southern River - looking forward to meeting you guys - but nobody laugh if I lose the plot and the BC goes feral. I'll be stewarding so say hi!
  8. ;) I'm here! After leaving Ptolomy's around 8pm, I had to go and fetch Millie from mum and dad's, come home, unpack, yada yada! Anyhoo, at the Bunbury double obedience trial today, Ruby got her first Novice pass in the AM trial with 1st place and a score of 194 Then just when I didn't think it could get better, she got her second Novice pass in the PM trial with 1st place and a score of 190 So we walked away with 2 passes! 1 more to go before we're in big scary Open!! I almost pulled her out of the heelwork in the second trial, she was tired so therefore zoning out a touch, but I couldn't blame her. We had been on the go since before 7am and by this time it was after 4pm, on her second trial and she didn't get a kip in all day. Thankyou soooooooooo much to Ptolomy for letting me and my ratbag ride down with you and your kids. We had an absolute BLAST!! Ruby couldn't wipe the smile off her dial all day, until she got home, she is KNACKERED!!!!!!!!! She wouldn't smile for the photo ;) Video to come
  9. I know nothing about the show ring, but whenever I happen to be watching, an American Cocker always wins
  10. Did anyone visit Bunnings today? Free hot cross buns Greedy me went back for a second Chocolate ones, yummy!! And they were Baker's Delight ones, sorry Tiggy!
  11. Like me I used her method to shape the pickup of the dumbell, but I have been slack with Millie so we don't have a nice solid hold yet, and I'm yet to piece the entire thing together properly. But the reason I praise this method so much is because she was a dog who would not even touch the dumbell. She still has issues taking things out of my hand to put into her mouth (unless it's food ) so to get her to take a dumbell in her mouth was huuuge for me!
  12. Highly recommend this method http://www.shirleychong.com/keepers/retrieve.html I taught Millie the retrieve with this method. It can take a while depending on what stage your dog is at naturally (ie. my Ruby would retrieve it as second nature so all I had to teach was the hold... while Millie would look at the dumbell with a look on her face like yeah so? so I had to teach her from the very beginning, so she took longer).
  13. Labs are only drooly when sitting with dinner bowl in front of them But they do have a bit of slobber in their mouths that will find its way onto a lovely isqueak!
  14. Don't you dare give up! Seriously I am the most unco person in the world, truly unco! If I can manage you can too! Just takes a bit of practice! I'll pass on what knowledge I have and help you and Rosie Need to get you two up to scratch so we can do strategic pairs! I need help too :D RosieFT, what you need is a backup dog. If dog 1 fails, bring out dog 2
  15. I'm guessing you got to watch Amy's first novice jumping round? It was great, wasn't it! :D I asked Amy to take Ruby for a sec last night and do that sequence she had set up and you should have seen the fear in her eyes She got to experience what it must be like feeding the sharks - but I think she came out with all fingers after treating Ruby And I can't believe your reaction after giving your your Lab-christened i-squeak back. Slobber on a ball us just second nature to me now, I forget that not everyone is used to that
  16. I'm getting a bit worried about my jump cup order from Clean Run It should be here by now. It's probably got lost in transit or something Amypie got hers beginning of the week and I ordered mine a day before her! No fair I have my jumps all ready to go, just need the damn jump cups!!
  17. Thanks! I will keep an eye out myself as like you said, it will probably end up being just as expensive after postage But thankyou for the offer!
  18. That is good to hear! Mason is such a happy boy, he bounces right back
  19. I'm not sure how much help I can be, I'm still trying to overcome Millie's problems. Millie spent the first 2 years of her life ignored. Left in someone's backyard, possibly chained and she was muzzled Went into rescue with muzzle marks on her face I'd really love to meet her previous owners and get some answers from them
  20. I hope Mason is ok!!!! Poor boy Give him hugs for me! Kristen, Cara sounds a bit like my Millie I haven't met her but from the descriptions she is a bit psycho, barky for attention, tendency to be wild, destructive, slight separation issues? But on the flip side, Millie can be the calmest girl if she's sitting there getting pats from you, she'll sit and look longingly at you like she is the calmest dog in the world. Don't be fooled! Can't wait to meet Cara!!
  21. I'll have to read up on this ADAA thing. Actually, I still need to read up on ANKC agility too, I don't know the rules First up though, pull my finger out and get my dogs measured so I know for sure their jumping heights!
