Huski - Ask to see the Alex round - go on I dare you (I can see Bedazzled placing her hand on her head now and going "OH NO")! :D I got to do my first UD stays last night, oh boy was that daunting Sorry Ptolomy, the down stay demons hung around me Which have never hit me before

Go Caffy and Snazzy!! A well deserved win, you guys truly make a great team!! Do you know what exercise you lost the point on? I could upload Ruby's heelwork from last night, but all you'd get is "oh shit, it wasn't filming" :D Again no pass here, I'm ready to throw the stays out the window, or buy a nail gun for a certain blonde's feet, but proud as punch with another 38/40 for heelwork Honestly don't know how we're scoring so well in heelwork, it doesn't feel that pretty

Dog Breaking From Sit Into A Drop
RubyStar replied to 4 Paws's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Unfortunately, the dinner approach won't work for every dog, especially greedy guts ones like mine. Mine would sit for half an hour in front of their dinner bowl (DROOLING!) and not dare move from the sit stay, just waiting for the command to eat - even though I am still having trouble with my sit stays in training/trialling situations! I am rewarding often to reinforce what I want, but somehow it isn't getting through to my dog. Especially if it's a hot day/night, that drop happens so much quicker! -
Happy Birthday, ValleyCBR!!!! Hope you're having a great day! Where is the horse show? Not that I intend on going, but maybe one day I should, I've never been to one before

Has anybody seen 5 way PVC connectors for sale in Australia? Hopefully Bunnings? Or even the 4 way? Clean Run have them, but I don't really want to pay the shipping price that will come with it!
-
Yeah do it! I registered Millie with the ANKC as "Milliemoo" Are there many ADAA trials over here?
-
Me too! I'm all excited for the day I can be trialling! Walking that course last night has me addicted Can't wait to have my own gear set up to train more than once a week in class. Just wish I had the large yard to keep the gear set up and not have to lug it to a park!

I really need to clean out my inbox, I'm sure there are pointless things in there that could be deleted Just takes such effort If your dad doesn't mind, I'd love some made too I'll speak to you privately in regards to how many and all that stuff Thanks!!

Mine reacted because they know exactly what produces that sound! Wait til yours learn it too

Bugger
-
You've got the bug now, Amy!! I think I do now, too! After walking the course with you guys last night all I have been doing is running it over in my head and wanting to have a go myself Well done on a great round! Tunnels are too much fun, can't blame him! So, if you want to sell me your tunnel now.. Video is still private

OMG that is hilarious Can't believe it took Lexi so long to get one out! I had the sound as low as I could get it but the girls still jumped up from their slumber when they heard the first squeak go off Thanks again for organising this! Woohoo!

Happy to take photos but I suck at cameras! Maybe if you're about on say Friday you could take "action" shots for me in the ring? Or whenever you're at a trial next! I'd love to get photos of Ruby actually paying attention, just so I can prove that she can actually do it

When our equipment is made, I'm hoping Amy might be up for a weekly session with me

Happy Birthday, Rosie!!!! It was Chloe's 16th birthday yesterday! (Chloe is my first dog, Maltese, living with my parents). She's blind and practically deaf, but still pretty darn healthy!!

Welcome to the obedience/agility world! I remember busting so bad that it got to presentations that I had to make a quick dash up in the dark or I was going to be highly embarrassed at the suspicious puddle  TMI for a public forum?
-
I'll see if I can come down, I just need a doggysitter for my ratbags (parents come in handy!!) So what time are you anticipating to be on with the list of dogs on before you? I'll come and film you Amy (and you too Valley if you want?)
-
Should be good actually, I can bring Ruby down too and practice jumping with her (Dog knows she needs all the practice she can get ) and last time I did agility with her she loved tunnels, so would be interesting to see if she remembers anything!

Looks a little pricey to me

Awesome idea, thelinks!

Got mine from an agricultural shop type place, but those large pet/garden places sometimes sell them too. They were $6.95 each. I'm going to go and get the ones Amy got (once she reminds me where from again ) as their channel runs all the way down and apparently don't have the nobbly bits on them like mine does! Making my box actually was more expensive than the solid jump, I was surprised! But then again, I had that wood in the garage so that was free. When I go buy thicker wood it's gonna cost me!!

Awww thanks Amy That'll teach me for taking too long to make up my mind After Millie giving me a glimpse last night of how she might be good at this afterall (if she got herself a new handler who knew how to teach this stuff properly ;)) I decided I want to make a bunch of jumps and really start practicing. Throwing in a tunnel would be great, too! Once we have our jumps made, we should meet up at the park with our gear and do some training I've been trying to devise ways to make a chute... cardboard box or plastic rubbish bin with a shower curtain or sheet hanging off it?
