  1. How are you making your tyre jump? Is it something I could do myself?
  2. Can anyone give any tips on making a tyre jump? Would the one from the same website as this tunnel be ok? It looks rather cheap and nasty, just wondering if I can make one for cheaper and better quality? I've got the tunnel in my cart... now do I actually progress with the order? I used my new solid jump tonight, worked a treat So chuffed with my first piece of equipment I made
  3. I wonder why they kept sweepstakes when CCD was introduced in that case?
  4. I've heard different things. I heard that any Dogswest member can use the K9 grounds to train, but also that if you want to train when a club is using the grounds, you need to be a member of that club.
  5. $39.95 plus post for the big one. (postage to WA was $17 I believe, less for Eastern states) I wonder if postage is cheaper if you buy 2? Anyone from Perth thinking of ordering?
  6. It takes a LOT of training. There are so many aspects to it to train, it's not as easy to train as it may appear on the surface. If I wasn't doing obedience and agility, and could soley concentrate on retrieving I'd probably do it as I think it would be a really great sport, but I love obedience too much to give that up I envy those who do it all AND do well at it!!
  7. Did you go to the retrieving training yesterday? I was tempted, but didn't have exact details plus it was too hot. I figure I have so much on my plate as it is without adding another activity to the list.
  8. That's because obedience is better . Obedience is my first choice, but I won't be debating which is "better"
  9. Really?? Yep, so you technically have to get four passes to get your novice title here Totally ripped off! How stoopid is that?! That and I think I read that you are only allowed one Associate dog and then you MUST have a main/limited registered purebred to be able to compete with it, now THAT sucks!
  10. Me too Wanna bring it down to K9 sometime? Far out I'm such a scab
  11. Grrr now I'm tempted to order one.... where is that money tree?!?!?!?! I want more stuff... so far I have um... nothing
  12. My guess is it will take me longer, because I tend to keep training obedience rather than those skills I need for agility
  13. Wow look at you and Kyzer go! I hope I can do that with Millie one day
  14. They told us in I think week 1 that they were going round with a video camera filming for the website and if you didn't want to be filmed to tell them. I'll have to go watch the video now to see you guys The camera came near us but didn't get me and Millie... thank goodness
  15. Yup if I do come down I'd be happy to film it
  16. I might have to come down and cheer you all on on Wednesday
  17. Photos, please! Because I still haven't worked out if I want to use the electric fence posts for regular jumps or pvc with jump cups. How did you hold a bar up on the posts? Edit: ohhh you used the caution tape AS the "bar"? Do you know where I could get the rectangle tubing from? And if you remember the name, that would be great
  18. Thanks Tassie, Kavic answered but the link is helpful! I tried measuring her the other day and got mixed results, so who knows until I get it officially done. I'm hoping she's a 300 dog ;) After her attempt at jumping 350 the other night in obedience, the result was woeful I know this is an agility equipment thread, but I made a solid jump on Saturday Proud of myself for achieving something Though not sure at this stage if the boards will stay up if I use more than one, they're a little flimsy being plywood. I'm going to need to get some capping so it isn't too sharp if the girls land on it
  19. The handheld cordless Stylus model can sit in its charger dock plugged in 24/7, so you don't have to ever worry about forgetting to charge it if you automatically put it away onto its plugged in dock. Mine is rather noisy, but I haven't got any other model to compare the noise to. Not sure what size sanding thingy I use, whatever it came with! I'd be interested to hear if anyone can recommend a good accessory for doing the pet nails. While we're at it, can anyone recommend an accessory for buffing human nails? :D
  20. Oooh and I hope to be helping to puppysit and socialise the cute little fluffballs ;) Bugger that neither of us can make the 2 weekends, oh well, plan for next year perhaps? Millie can be a handful, if I walk away from her and she's tied up she goes bonkers. I think we'd all want a peaceful weekend :D I remember one time I had her tied onto a stake in front of my car while I was training Ruby quite a distance away (retrieving training) and all of a sudden I see this flash of brown streaking across the oval coming straight for me, dragging the metal stake at the end of the lead behind her She actually has done this twice. She can't handle not being with her mum :D
  21. I'd be interested in both a trialling camping weekend and a DOLer one another time too I am however not ready to do Geraldton at the next one. Bit strapped for cash and Ruby isn't reliable enough yet to risk trialling at such a far away place! I want to get through Bunbury first and see how she goes ;) Doesn't Geraldton have a few trials throughout the year? Maybe one later in the year I'd be interested in doing! As for a DOLer camping thing, I'm up for that anytime! But its times like these I wish there was 2 of me, as I won't be able to enjoy a camping holiday as much with 2 dogs per 1 me. As much as I wanna camp with both of them, I think this will just be a trip for me and my special yellow girl :D
  22. Ta I made a solid jump yesterday so plan on working on this without the dumbell for a bit. She was only introduced to this exercise on Monday and hasn't done it since Monday so I'm not surprised it wasn't very good I also know after last night that she needs a good run up both sides to get over the jump cos she's such a sack of potatoes when she jumps. The height was only at 350 too and she touched it, I fear how she's going to go at her correct height I'll gradually be taking that height up for her. As for slow pace, possibly, but slow pace she usually focuses well in, its the fast pace I lose her in that needs more work Some really nice work Rubystar Thanks I know me too I have very little to document Millie. I asked Mum to come last night to film us but she said she couldn't be bothered! Although she's keen to see Millie work
