Cold day chasing the lure yesterday so Neko wore her hand knitted jumper from Queensland Nanna. She doesn't care how silly it looks, this running after the lure is serious business! 5F6A8809dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Obi too dressed warmly for the occasion. 5F6A8812dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Forget about motherly love sonny boy, out here it's war! 5F6A8814dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

It's not Russian as far as I know, but it might pass for Russian sounding and I've always liked the way it looks and sounds. It's my Anglo Saxon Grandmothers name, 'Nisca' I dont know where her mother found it but I think it's pretty. I very much doubt you will find anyone else with that name.

I often get asked if my 14yo whippet Feather is "the baby" because she is small. She is grey in the face and very frail and wobbly but it doesn't stop some people thinking she is a puppy.

I was asked if I have a "designer dog" not sure what combination my Italian Greyhound was supposed to be.

Very sad for everyone. So sorry.

You dont mean the Mighty Quinn by Manfred Mann do you?
-
thanks T. She is just exquisite, but sadly too small to show. I dont mind because she's my pet, but I think she could have done well in the ring if she was bigger, she's a delight to look at. Now I have some photos of another puppy, not related by blood but sort of part of the family. This is Willow, she is from imported parents. She's not living with me but will be a regular visitor. 5F6A8486dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Lovely strong jaw, something that is lacking in alot of Australian IGs 5F6A8489dppt by kirislin, on Flickr She's got attitude too. 5F6A8496dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8508dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8656dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8657dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8658dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8678dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A8679dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

He was, he and Matt Ryan won GOLD!! He lived to 36 years old. I've just realised he and my own Kibah died within a few days of each other.

did you lose more than one?

One of my sisters named her cat Kibah after the same horse! Far out!

Funny Things U Find When Walking The Dog!
Kirislin replied to Alibi's topic in General Dog Discussion
It looks very much like horse hair -
No need for help anymore, all the puppies died.
-
Never mind

Can't you just keep them all forever? They're so beautiful. I think I might like the dark faced ones with no white, although I'm not sure. they're all so damn cute. Is that a zucchini flower they're playing with? Cardboard boxes are a great toy for them too, especially if it once contained chicken, which I suspect that one did.

How To Tell If Your Bitch Is In Season
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
sorry, I couldn't help myself. -
This is a really good clear indication, there's no mistaking it.

I'm hoping someone can help with a foster mother. I know of a litter of puppies that were pulled out of the mother when the owners brought her in to be speyed. They were obviously full term because they've survived but the owners of the mother didn't want them so the vet nurses have been hand raising them. I haven't seen the puppies but I'm told they're underweight so I am wondering if anyone's got a bitch who would accept 5 puppies. They are a small breed (or mixed breed) possibly Chihuahua x and are about a week old now. SE suburbs of Melbourne. Please send me a PM if you can help.

Lovely to see them being such buddies. :D

Meet Saffy Aka Miss Piggy/little Hippo
Kirislin replied to Boronia's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Good girl Saffy. Get to work -
I dont know the reason people surrender them. I imagine the dogs were doing something the owners weren't expecting or prepared for.
-
would it be worth contacting the breed club or Husky rescue to ask what the main reason is for Huskies being surrendered?
