  1. from this morning  I wonder what she was thinking here. 5F6A7286dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Then later in the day the rellies from Melbourne came up to visit, as you do on a Sunday, remember when you'd do that with the family? anyway, it didn't take Secret long to start throwing her weight around and showing off that she's the boss around here, the little brat 5F6A7294dppt by kirislin, on Flickr the gorgeous handsome Mr Fat/Thumper, that Marcus wants me to call Pyder, but it's just not sticking for me. I just love his face and expression. 5F6A7298dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Huh? 2. she loves it, although Secret is already trying, and succeeding to boss DN about. I know who will be alpha dog here very soon, if she isn't already. She's a fiesty determined little minx with alot of presence.
  3. thanks everyone their names came easily for this litter. Being Bipsys first litter in Australia they created alot of talk. and 'cause I'd already been calling the girls Secret and Mystery the rest came easily. Here's my little munchkin today 5F6A7235dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7242dppt by kirislin, on Flickr I've usually pruned the grape vine by now but I deliberately left a few dangles on it for her to play with, she loves them. 5F6A7273dppy by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7274dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7278dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A7257dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Look at that lovely long cheeky tail 5F6A7265dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  4. good luck in your search! I wonder if there is a data base for GSP pedigrees. If there is that would be a great place to start.
  5. It's official, they've got their registered names now, so may I introduce from left to right: Roskyle Too Many Secrets, Roskyle Too Many Rumours and Roskyle Too Many Mysteries 5F6A6785dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  6. I'm sorry to read about Hobbes passing. He had a good and long life, and was well loved by you. Now that he's gone you will go on to do lots of good for other dogs who need someone like you to go in to bat for them. You have my sympathy.
  7. OMG gorgeous photos, I love the fangy one. You're ( or he's) doing well with toilet training him. It's still very much a work in progress with Secret.
  8. I dont know. I think they dont like using "yes" or other words because they can get confused if they hear them at other times, that's why they use a sound. Do you clicker train? I just dont know if making the sound with your mouth is any different to making it with a manufactured clicker. I know the sound isn't identical but would it still work? Nah. I did try but I'm too uncoordinated. ;) but wouldn't you be just as unco. using your mouth/voice or your hand to operate a clicker?
  9. It's easy! But I was very surprised to discover my brother cannot make the noise, he was surprised that I could! It must be a bit like rolling your tongue, some people can do all sorts of weird things with their tongues and others cannot. Oh, but I can only do it on one side of my mouth, I'm really good on the right side, it's quite loud enough, but on the left I'm hopeless and it's too soft, so there you go.
  10. a happy update on Nekos barking. She is doing it less now. I act quickly if she starts and I go outside (with a torch) and call her over to me. I've been reassuring her that it's nothing to worry about, without actually fussing over her. It seems to be working, I really think she does it because she thinks there's something she needs to alert us all about, so instead of just calling her in like I used to, I'm going out to check it with her and then letting her know it's OK. I'm surprised at how quickly she's responded- in a good way. At least we're getting somewhere with something. good girl Neko. xx
  11. Just tried, my clicky noise is neutral, I cannot make it sound excited, or happy, or angry, it's the same sound what ever emotion I'm trying to put into it.
  12. Yep, I understand this principle because it's the same when you're riding a horse, if you want a soft mouthed responsive horse you need to be precise and consistent. I can make the clicky sound with my mouth, and I would think my reflexes would be the same whether I was using my hands to click the clicker or my mouth to make the sound. I might give it a go. If it works I'll let you all know. :D
  13. I dont know. I think they dont like using "yes" or other words because they can get confused if they hear them at other times, that's why they use a sound. Do you clicker train? 14. I've read briefly about clicker training and why it's better than using a word and how quickly it can mark a behaviour that you want. I could just imagine me with my hands full of dog, treats and clicker I'd get myself in a mess. I'm wondering if you can just make the sound, much like the sound you make when clicking up a horse to move on. Is there any reason why that wouldn't work?
  15. damn! it clashes with the whippet fun day, otherwise I'd probably go, I've always wanted to visit CERES and this would be an extra incentive
  16. I've met some Bostons and really liked them, jolly active little dogs. I have to ask, has the mostly white faced dog got a round tipped ear and a pointy tipped ear? I've looked in a few of the photos and it looks the same each time. Nothing like a bit of variety.
  17. I love the way she explains and describes her dogs and what their qualities and abilities are, it's very educational as well as being fantastic action shots
