better get advice off a Nikon person I think.

Have you got a Nikon? I am not sure about the letters after the 1.4. I know Canon make at least 3 50mm lenses. A 1.8 which is the cheapest, it's known as the nifty fifty, then the 1.4 which is what I have and then the 1.2L which costs thousands $$ I think there might be a 50mm 1.0 but if there is it's way out of my league. It is possible the Nikon range has something similar. What's the prices on the two you've listed.

Had some rellies come to visit today, rellies of the furry 4 legged kind that is. Freezing cold day, so she curled up on my clean washing

can you make a little movie with these.

It's hard when you dont have a tripod, I had my camera balanced on a pineapple juice tin that was itself balanced on an upturned fruit bowl.
-
Ohh that's good, I'm gonna try it, I've got some nice old bottles that should look good.

You guys are doing great. I had a go but nothing worth putting up here.

I have a friend with a whippet who's had this problem, I even wrote about it here a few months ago. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=151710&hl= It can be dangerous as you already know. the vet said to her that if it keeps happening they can enlarge the hole in the sheath. Your poor boy, it must be agony for him.

the only time I wash my whippets is when they roll in something stinky, and even then it's often only the stinky area. My whippets sleep in my bed and it doesn't stink of dog..............................at least, I cant smell it. Their skin and coats are healthy. If I was showing them I'd wash them a day or two before the show.

I've been wanting to see some before and afters for ages, so thanks for showing these. When and where is the course, I suspect it will be a bit far for me but you never know.

I cant imagine teaching a dog to toilet inside, but if I did I would try to train it to use a kitty litter tray. Alot of people on a US based whippet forum I am on use kitty litter trays for puppies and it seems very successful.

I know you say he has a blanket and he's warm but I wonder if he is still actually cold. Is he laying on top of the blanket or does it cover him. If he's just on top of it, he wont be kept warm by it. maybe he needs to either wear a coat or be covered over, snuggled underneath a blanket. I've found mine will cry if they are cold.

that was funny. What sort of lorikeet is that, it's not an Australian native one is it?

a bit of a panning shot, a lot easier than trying to pan the whippets. Just a bloke and his daughter today at the park.
-
gorgeous!

Tlc, I love your panning shots. Yours are better than any of mine and I've been trying for about a year!!!! You did a fantastic job. I can see how much fun they all had. I like the one where one of your dogs is trying to cut Jack off. I know the body language so well in that one. The slower dog waits its chance, sometimes the whippet will slow a bit to tease the chaser and then just goes up a gear and whoosh! The whole set of pics just exudes fun!

Well, I finally managed a longer exposure streetscape, but it doesn't have the hustle and bustle of those in the city, more the slow leisurely amble of a country town.

I am in Victoria a city on the great ocean road and I think i will just do what Shell did and pick a road where there is a few cars and have a go. TN, Great shower shot!! Kirislin, the pups look like they are having a ball. I love thier collars, are they special Whippet collars? Yep, Pennys pretty stars and moon collar came from Hide and Collars in the UK, it cost alot but I love it. Feathers collar is one I made, the boys have just got cheapie wide greyhound collars that I cut down a bit, they only cost about $5 each I think.

More frozen moments from me. I've got to get out at night and do some light trails. wrestling on a sand pile, Penny and Feather. interrupted by the goofy boys Look out ma, comin through! eeejets, thinks she Hmmmmm I'll deal with that brazen Feather later says Penny to herself

I used to just gently push him over and when he did it I'd stuff a treat into his mouth, I had no idea what the correct way to do it was but mine worked with him anyway.
-
to play dead? Have you already taught him to drop? if so you're half way there. I taught a racing greyhound to play dead by first having him in the drop position then saying Bang! and laying him on his side. As soon as he was flat, I'd praise and give him a treat.
