  1. I'd love to see a challenge where they're straight off the camera, no photoshop or lightroom or anything, cause I haven't got them! hahahaha
  2. I've only just seen this! You must have hated leaving her there alone overnight. I hope she'll be OK.
  3. I think the 40D is much much better than the 400D, I am not real keen on anything over 400 with mine.
  4. Someone who specialises in greyhounds might be the go. They're the experts on movement.
  5. Ok, assuming it's because he had too much bone, from your description of his poo, I just had this problem with Feather last week after she ate too much bone. The vet gave me Lectade and told me to give her 30mls every hour. She's only little, 9 kgs, I would imagine it would be more if the dog is bigger. Even if you just keep water up to him to help his poo soften. The best way I got the water into her was to lay her down flat and gently syringe it into her mouth while she had her head flat sideways on the floor. When I tried to do it with her standing up it dribbled out. With her laying down she swallowed most of it and even liked it. I got half a litre into her and she hardly wee'd at all, most of the moisture went into softening her concrete poo. So, this is a long winded way of saying get him to drink lots of water.
  6. My dogs ate the intestines when they killed a bunny, actually, they ate everything, skin and all. Within a couple of hours you'd never have known the bunny existed, there was absolutely nothing left. The next day they did lots of rabbit felt poo. they also love eating horse poo.
  7. Awwwww now come off it! You cant tell me those eyelashes are real!! You've done a great job, I bet the owners will be happy. I hope you're liking the 50 a bit more now.
  8. Oh, the other thing all of mine do is eat dirt, so much so, they've made a little quarry in the backyard. I find it hard to imagine they're lacking in minerals because of the already varied diet they get, but if they are lacking I hope their dirt eating solves it.
  9. another pic, I dont know if this is self medicating or just liking different foods. Raw pumpkin, they all love it.
  10. Is there any chance you can teach him to catch from directly above his head, so, rather than tossing it you just maybe stand on a step ladder and drop it straight down. I used to have a whippet who could catch like this. I think there'd be much less head movement. Once they learn it they just open their mouths and it drops in.
  11. tlc, I always think your boy Cooper needs a pipe and hat like Sherlock Holmes used to wear.
  12. Well I beleive mine do. I copied most of this from another thread, with a bit more explanation added, My dogs eat grass and lots of other plants/weeds they sniff out themselves (clivers, wild mustard). They also love raw veggies, pumpkin, carrots, lettuce, any of the cabbage family, tomatoes, bananas, apples, pears, nectarines, watermelon and cantaloupe skins, I find it harder to say what they wont eat. The very first thing I noticed my dogs eat out of the ordinary was Comfrey, I'd had some growing in the garden for years and the dogs ignored it. Then one day Kibah was running past it, and did a double take, then went back to it and started eating the leaves. Then the other dogs copied her. I rang a naturopath and told her and she said not to worry, she's self medicating. Since then it's almost always been Kibah who starts eating new things and the others copy her. She's my little shaman dog. seeing what my dogs choose to eat themselves is the reason why I dont agree with an all meat diet. Puck with the remains of stolen nectarines "sorry mummy" and Tag "am I in trouble?" Puck stealing my rocket even through the wire I'd tried to protect it with. I've just started growing some wild mustard at home purely for the whippets now. I got some of the dirt and seedlings growing wild at the park and planted them. Puck couldn't wait for them to grow and was stealing them through the wire like he was doing here. I just took the cover off yesterday and he went nuts for it. Kibah eating wild mustard, a weed at the park and clivers
  13. I love your end results girls, I might have to try this as well. I reckon it'd be funny to see the photographers themselves while they're trying to get these shots, balancing on chairs, boxes etc. sounds dangerous!
  14. I know it's hard to imagine just how dumb I am on a computer but I dont know how to make files smaller. It's OK though, I've already sent her the photos as is. I am sure it will be OK, I mean they weren't fantastic anyway. I am happy for her to use them on her website as she requested.
  15. I haven't read all the posts yet but regarding the bolded bit, I would suggest getting her to understand and obey voice commands, and in a situation like that mine would get a very harsh "off!!" and if they didn't immediately obey they'd get some vigorous encouragement/assistance from me.
  16. What about George Schofield in Cragieburn? 9333 1602 10am-4.30pm every day except Tuesday but best to ring first.
  17. I wonder if it's grass allergy, I notice the paspalum is out now, leaving its' sticky residue on the dogs, there could be lots of others that aren't as obvious to us but might be causing irritation.
  18. cut and paste from my contract thankfully it wasn't copyrighted, thanks, I used it.
  19. Well, I've never done this before so I just wanted to cover myself. I didn't ask for any money but I'd be a bit annoyed if I found she made money on them. About the only people who might want copies would be the owners of the whippets I think.
  20. thanks Luke. the only thing is I will allow her to alter them if she needs to as she might want to remove the background and/or crop them a bit, but I can probably amend what you've written a bit to allow that. I basically didn't want to find out later that she sold some prints or tried to stop me from using them if I want to....which would probably only be to put on a whippet site if anything.
  21. Thanks Chezzyr and Luke W. Next question is about copyright. I am happy to allow this person to use the pics on her website to advertise her product if she wishes, I have't asked for payment but I'd like her to credit me as the photographer and I also want to be able to use the pics as I please. I am not giving her permission to sell the pics, I doubt very much that anyone would want them anyway. If I tell her that is it enough?
  22. I took some pics for a woman at out whippet day and she's sending me a USB stick to put them on. I shot in RAW but have since converted them to jpeg. I still have the RAW files as well though. I've never used a USB stick so not sure what happens. Do I put both types of pics on it so she can fiddle with the RAW ones herself if she wants? Can you even put RAW files on a USB stick. I have no idea. Help!
  23. My dogs eat grass and lots of other plants/weeds they sniff out themselves (clivers, wild mustard). They also love raw veggies, pumpkin, carrots, lettuce, any of the cabbage family, tomatoes, bananas, apples, pears, nectarines, watermelon and cantaloupe skins, I find it harder to say what they wont eat. I dont have a food processor though so I couldn't do the poll. seeing what my dogs choose to eat themselves is the reason why I dont agree with an all meat diet. 24. I wasn't able to speak to him when I picked her up, I think he was still in surgery. I spoke to him this morning about sending it off. I decided not to as for me the results would be the same, if she gets another growth, I'd have it taken off, even if this one was benign. I just couldn't see the point, if as I said, she'll get the next one taken off regardless. He suspects it is the blood vessel tumour just by looking at it, I forget the medical name but it's the nasty one from what I understand. To be honest I dont think I want to know too much.
