I am wondering if the 2 Canon 100mm lenses have an overlap. I know one is a macro and one isn't but could you take similar pics with both when not using the macro?

I took this a few weeks ago, a storm came in really quickly with these angry dark clouds and the misty ones with their tendrils creeping down the hill. I went into my paddock to get this and it was all changing so quickly, I just got the last hint of red in the sky.

I am really enjoying everyones photos even though I dont feel creative enough to join in. Bindi boo I love your fairyland photos.

This is Portia, she comes into my friends shop once a week for a BBB, that's bath, brush and blow dry. She's a shy little thing but still loves coming in. She spends most of the day there and just sleeps on the grooming table. Isn't she a pretty girl. and Ratty the whippet. She's not mine but she's related to some of mine.

No, he hasn't been immunised for a couple of years. I have an awful feeling he might have had another one yesterday. I was out for most of the day and when I came home my TV had been knocked onto the floor! It's possible that the boys were wrestling and knocked it I suppose, but since nothing like that has ever happened before I think it's very unlikely. If he did have another fit I will know soon enough if they're going to be that frequent. I hope I am wrong.

He didn't take blood. I think from my description he is 99.9% sure Tag had a fit. He examined Tag and he is a picture of health, lean, extremely fit and strong, he listened to his heart, looked him all over and took his temp. All normal. He stressed to me not to worry, it might be a one off but said if it happens again I must record the details and if it becomes frequent then I need to consider treatment. But for now it's do nothing.

I took him to the vet and he said they cant test for epilepsy. He said Tag might never have another episode again. It's not even definite that he had a fit, I only found him afterwards looking wobbly and confused. I thought he'd had a stroke at first. The vet said to write down if he has another and any events leading up to it.

I want something fast to get those action shots of the whippies I've been trying for for so long. Thinking of the 70-200 either 2.8 or 4 but I dont know if they have enough reach. Wouldn't mind playing with the macro as well.

Tess mentioned the other day about hiring a lens to try it out. I enquired about it with Kirks in Ringwood and was told the only way to hire a lens is if you're a professional and you do it through Canon. Is that right?

I dont get it, if Gumtree doesn't charge any fees how do they make their money?

how common is it? I fear Tag may have had a fit last night and I only saw the after event confusion and wobbles. Not certain, but I took him to the vet today and he thinks that's probably what it was too. He cant test for it. He said whippets are over represented as far as epilepsy goes. It was news to me but I would think he is in a position to know. Tag is brimming with health and vigour, he'd never even been to see this vet, the only time he's been to the vet in the past is for his vaccinations, neutering and microchipping. I hope if he did have a fit it's the first and last.

I still want to do this. this week's not good for me. I'd love it if Luke and or some other experienced photographers could come. Anniek have you been practicing??

Or a quicker death for snails than salty water is to drop them in a bucket of very hot water. The other thing I do, because I know there's no poisons here, is to collect them and take them to Healesville sanctuary for their lizards or I know of a bloke who breeds blue tongues and he always loves me to give him some.

any news on your lens? Was it fixable?

I've only got the cloth that came with my reading glasses about 6 years ago. I am more concerned that it's picked up oil from my hands. I'll try washing it, thanks!

Yes, I did have to pay extra! I had to give them the serial numbers on each item, and I haven't added on the last lens I bought. Who are you insured with?

Tess wouldn't Sundays be crawling with people? I would've thought it would be more busy than weekdays. Maybe we can set a date in a month or so and give people time to plan.
