  1. It is correct, as I understand it, the VCA is disregarding it, so breeders want to petition them to abide by the decision made back in 2010 by the ANKC
  2. thanks for that. I wont change it but I hope everyone understands it's supposed to be black and tan. Disclaimer, I didn't type it. :D
  3. I've been asked to submit this on behalf of Lorna Fair IG breeder. Signatures are welcome from interstate members as well. Dear DogsVic Members, We would like to ask for your support in this matter regarding VicDogs upholding the ANKC ruling of October 2010. If you would like to read the accompanying documentation from 2010 to familiarise yourself with the history behind this issue it has been attached. When we have collated the signatories we will be sending them through to DogsVic. This process needs to be completed by 31 August 2014 in order for our submission to be made and this matter to be brought up at the next meeting. Please PM your details to Kirislin if you wish to add your support. your full name Membership Number of the controlling Canine authority in your State
  4. he can pay it off. that's what YOU'D have to do with the vet if you didn't have the money up front.
  5. I also agree with presenting careless brother with the bill.
  6. I saw on the news last night something about a whippet running terrified over Westgate bridge yesterday. The report didn't say it was caught, I got the impression the police drove beside it until it crossed without causing an accident but it didn't say what happened to it. Does anyone know?
  7. There's some really bent people out there. This story reminds me of an episode of Rake, I suspect it's where they got the idea for the storyline.
  8. I haven't read all the comments but I have friends who have outside whippets in good well built runs. One thing they do with the kennels is to put a curtain over the entrance. You could nail a thick blanket (something cheap of course because she'll probably rip it to shreds) over the entrance so it will trap the heat. They also coat their whippets at night but I'm not sure about coating a tiny puppy, she might get tangled. Put lots of blankets in the kennel so she can burrow and snuggle and I agree with some kind of heating such as a snuggle safe.
  9. I suppose it might depend on how much you throw the ball for him. I do know a dog who wore her teeth down to stumps simply from playing catch with a ball. She was only about 7 and her teeth were kaput.
  10. I wont post a link but if there's the right person out there in NSW he's for sale for $1. I'm sure you can guess where to look.
  11. great photos. Dont you hate how they manage to clog all the stinky goop into their collars?
  12. I liked this one, just as she ran through a patch of sunlight. 5F6A3692dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

  14. I dont even think she was shivering. We didn't stay for very long though and the car was lovely and warm on the way home.
  15. she loved it, much to my surprise. I had a coat on her at first but took it off so she could run. these were taken at the top of the Black Spur, Dom Dom Saddle.

  17. Puts hand up too. :D some of my best memories are riding through the bush with whippets running alongside or up ahead, forging rivers, brave whippets going where ever I went. It also makes you practiced in spotting uneven movement.
  18. I went down but didn't join and so didn't buy one. some of the prices were the same as other shops. You'd have to buy an awful lot to recover your $60 joining fee I think, and you have to have the room to store all your bulk items. It was an interesting experience though, the cafateria was good value. I had the strangest experience there though. As I went to pay I said to the girl I'd never used the tap and go. I touched the machine with my card and quick as a flash another customer loomed up from nowhere, snatched my card from me and said no you have to put it in the slot. I got such a shock, I didn't have time to react. She was wrong anyway, I'd already paid. I saw a man who looked alot like Rupert Murdoch shopping there, and a personal trainer, I know that cause he had it written on his back, sitting with a couple of blokes who looked like athletes and they were all eating junk food. It was great! All very entertaining.
  19. one of the reviews  "Trolleys are to big for the isles and the crazy people with nutcase children. However great store! :)"
  20. that's where I got mine from :) they are just around the corner from us and they have heaps of stuff from stationary, tools, electrical, clothes, linen and groceries and booze. But because of that they don't have a huge variety in terms of brands You need to show your membership card at the entrance but if you ask they will let you have a look to see if you want to join. You still won't be able to buy anything until you have a membership though. that's handy, I'm not a member yet. I'd better wear comfy shoes fromt the sounds of things, I might be walking a bit. :D
  21. do they sell sheets and womens boots? If so I can justify going down for a look see.
  22. dammit! I'd sit on that bed!! far out, I've just discovered there's a costco at ringwood. hmmmmm
